Ashley cut off her retort suddenly, an odd smile coming over her face as she suddenly realized just how much fun it might be to have sex with the two women. She for the hem of her dress, ready to tear it off, as images of the immediate future rolled over her, of all the things she might do with the two nude women...

But no, that was wrong. They wouldn't be likely to have sex with her when she'd just blinded them. And tearing her clothes off in front of everyone wasn't exactly 'her' either. And they were strangers, why would she herself have sex with them, even if they were a little... The discord in her mind reached a peak, and Ashley realized that half the thoughts weren't hers. She focused her mind to try to force the intrusive thoughts out, and was relieved when it worked.

Ashley stumbled a couple of steps backwards, feeling slightly woozy from the mental effort, but recovered before she tripped.

"We're under attack, and something wasn't right about that scene. The slime. And I only see one set of clothing. I didn't actually hurt them. And then they... tried to get inside my head. I don't know what they are, but I don't think they're human."

Ashley took a couple more steps back, and pulled out her pistol, keeping it pointed at the floor but ready in case the two women attacked physically the next time.

Chloe looked over the situation trying to figure out what might be going on when she heard Ashley mention something about the slime. She looked at the two girls. Besides being coated in the slime they looked human enough and while she didn't recognize them their partial uniforms where that of the school. Chloe was hesitant to use any offensive spells they might be innocent and she didn't want to hurt them if they where under some evil influence, but they way there where approaching wasn't friendly at all.

I got an idea someone keep them still.Chloe bent low towards the ground and placed her hands on the cold stone.Unda manat exaudi voco! She looked at the feet of the girls to see if her spell was successful and hoped if it was the school wouldn't charge her for repairs. (casting Draw Water to create a forceful stream of water to shoot up underneath the slimy girls. Basically trying to hose them down)

Charles stared at Ashley in confusion, glancing back and forth between Ashley and the two women several times. Tesnya, to her credit, seemed to believe her reflexively, as she took Charles and pushed him aside and away from the entrance to the closet just as Jenn and Chloe approached. The rest of the group watched Chloe as she knelt down to cast her spell, including the two slimy, blinded nude women that were in the tiny room. Charles, despite the fact that he'd been pulled aside slightly, stared at Ashley and said; "They tried to get into your head? How can you be sure? What happened?" the two started forward at the sound of his voice, but even as they took their second step Chloes spell completed.

The Academy had a system of complicated magics that allowed it to take water from the ground, which the occupants used for bathing, experimentation, and any number of other uses. So, all Chloes spell had to do was tap into the water being taken from the ground, which suddenly caused the floor to crack, and a stream of water sprayed up. The two women stepped into it, but immediately recoiled from the jet of water. The rest of them got sprayed as well, but it was only water. For the moment, the pair were trapped behind the veil of water, though the spell would only last for a short while. Jenn said; "Maybe we can just leave? They aren't hurting anyone...."

Now that the attack had stopped, with only the memory left, Ashley had to admit that she couldn't be sure. It had felt like an attack when it happened, but memories of thoughts were tricky things at best.

"I could feel them, thoughts that weren't my own threatening to overwhelm me."

Then the other girl's spell took hold, and a veil of water separated the party from the strange women. Ashley's sense of their oddness was reinforced when the simple water seemed sufficient to hold them.

"I tend to agree with Jenn. I there's something strange about those women, but I don't know if they're invaders, or mind controlled, or what, and they aren't actively attacking us. We're here for a reason, we should move on."

She takes a further step back to reinforce her point.

Chloe's heart sank she had hoped that the others would step up and try to save these girls but it looks like running was going to be the plan of the day. She threw a sideways glance at the others briefly debating to try and do something herself but if Ashley was right she doubted she could fight them on her own.

"Ill try to keep this spell going as long as I can decide something quickly please I'm not sure how long this will last. They don't like the water maybe its a weakness?"She could already feel the magic fading.

Charles glanced between Ashley, and the closet where the two mostly nude girls were behind the curtain of water, and simply shrugged, saying; "Lets be off then, before the spell fades entirely. Hopefully, they'll snap out of whatever's wrong with them on their own." He turned toward the double doors leading deeper into the Academy and pushed them open, Tesnya, Jenn, Ashley and Chloe following behind him. The kitchens let out into the dining hall, which would normally be packed at all hours with students, some of whom used it for social recreation when not studying, while others only used it only when they needed to eat. At the moment, the massive room, which was easily five hundred feet across and three hundred feet wide, had quite a few people in it. Unfortunately, all of them were fighting for their lives.

There were three clusters of students and faculty currently fighting against an assortment of slimy, gray abominations. The vast majority of the creatures were short, headless things with a dozen or so waving tentacles atop a quartet of spindly legs, ranging from three to five feet in height. Some, however, reminded Ashley of the ogres she'd fought in Artmirst. They had the same slow but powerful movements, but they were at least a little bit faster than the demons she was used to. The creatures were humanoid, but their heads lacked any facial features, except when wide, toothy maws opened up to allow the beasts to emit loud, blood curtling screams that were filled with rage. They were about twelve feet tall, and heavily muscled, their mottled dull gray skin rippling powerfully as they moved. Finally, along one wall, another humanoid creature, larger even than the juggernauts, with a skirt of tentacles and a completely blank and flat face, watched the fights. Its arms were far too long and thin, and it clearly wasn't touching the ground at all.

The first group of students were exactly ten strong, about half male and half female and obviously fairly young, and were holding off two dozen of the clustered tentacle monsters with weaker spells. The second group was almost twenty strong, and was exceedingly well organized and comprised of students that were about their groups age. Unfortunately, they were trapped behind several glowing violet walls of energy, trying to keep six of the massive creatures, as well as a small army of the smaller tentacled monsters at bay. Finally, a quartet of students were blasting away at three more of the large monsters, but having very little effect on them as they closed in.

The trapped group was in the center of the room, less then seventy feet in front of them, and a few members pointed to them and shouted something that couldn't be heard. The younger students were on their left, about a hundred feet away, and were quickly being backed into a corner. Finally, the doomed four were in the far right corner of the cafeteria, their backs to a wall and looks of desperation and terror on their faces. The strangest creature was opposite them, and hovered in front of another set of double doors, though four more doors entered the massive room. Besides the libraries, this was easily the largest room in the Academy.

Ashley looked out into the room in horror. Dozens of the foul beasts were fighting far fewer students, and the floor was littered with the fallen. Mostly the strange foes, but a few looked human as well. She tried not to look too close. That would have to wait until the living were taken care of.

There were four distinct threats, all of which needed dealing with. A group of young students outmatched, four more about to be overwhelmed, a hopeless fight against seemingly endless foes, and the strange floating thing. No time to think things through too much, action would have to start immediately. Ashley picked out the huge floating thing as the biggest threat despite the fact that it didn't seem to be engaged with anyone at the moment. Perhaps it was just its size, or the fact that it used magic just to move around, but it wouldn't be wise to ignore it. She began to draw in magic.

And hesitated. She wasn't alone this time. Which meant she didn't have to *choose* who to save.

"Charlie, you and Tesnya go left. Chole, you go help those four on the right. Me and Jenn will take the big one in the middle, then go where we're needed. Okay?"

The students in the center looked like they knew what they were doing. Walls of Force weren't easy to break, as long as you didn't let yourself become to tired to hold them up. They could hold out until the rest of the enemies were defeated. Probably.

That done, and feeling a little better now that she didn't intend to duel the thing entirely herself, Ashley sharply focused her mind on the being in front of her. The air itself bent as a gust rushed toward her foe. It would be at least as powerful as the vast storm outside, if very much smaller in scope, and hopefully would have a similar effectiveness.

Chloe looked at the four to the right and could tell by their faces that she needed to act soon for they had all but given in to fear. Chloe moved towards the hulking beasts stopping about 40ish feet from them. (not sure how far away they are let me know and Ill adjust the post accordingly) Chloe disliked offensive magic the words she used to help her concentrate on her power often left a bitter taste in her mouth when used to harm. She looked directly at one of the beasts who appeared the most injured and shouted "Focus your fire on the weakest one" By mea et ossa vestra ut favilla justo! She let the spell go the words of her old teacher ringing in her ears"If you know how to heal then you will know how to hurt."

I did require more math than necessary. The room is 300 feet wide and 500 feet across, and you're in the middle of the bottom wall, if you want to think about it in 2 dimensions. The far right corner would be 150 feet from your start position to your right, and 500 feet away from you to the front. As such, some people are going to need multiple rounds of movement to get within range, which I'm just going to cover in this post.

It doesn't take long to get into position for ranged casting, so the ranges matter little save for line of sight. It'll take Chloe some time to get into that 40 foot range though.

Charles and Tesnya simply nod, though both glance sideways at the embattled quartet and those in the center of the room as they move to aid the distressed children. With a wave of her hand as she runs forward, Tesnya conjures a wall of white light between the young casters and their slimy assailants, the headless creatures brushing against the wall and sizzling silently. Charles chants a spell under his breath as he rushes forward, easily passing Tesnya by, and suddenly there seem to be two of him, one with another, as he charges toward the twenty four tentacled creatures, shouting incoherently. The creatures turn toward the sound, and some amble toward the pair, but the group of tentacled creatures were still about forty feet from Charles, who was himself about five feet in front of Tesnya.

Chloe moved off to the right a few feet, and cast her spell. Despite being on nearly the opposite side of the room, her spell rushed out of her, silent and practically invisible, and struck one of the creatures in the back. Its body warped slightly, and it let out an ear-splitting scream of pain. It didn't turn toward the distant girl, however, and instead remained focused on the quartet of mages in front of it. As the trio of massive creatures approached it, the young casters assailed it with spells. A violet orb shot out of ones hand, and exploded in the center of their group, pushing two of them slightly out of the way and warping their squishy gray bodies all the further. A bolt of brown energy reached out from one and slammed into the one that Chloe had hit, and its flesh rotted slightly before their eyes, turning black and brown in patches. They still kept coming, however, even after a wave of flame washed over the two that had been hit the force ball, scorching their flesh. Finally, one of the mages summoned forth a humanoid figure of animate lightning to stand before the quartet, directly in the path of the three abominations. The three creatures were puzzled by the lightning elemental, and it's seemingly insubstantial body, however. They easily solved this problem, however, by each of them picking up a table and hurling it through the summoned creatures body. After the third table, the summoned creature was simply gone, its energies too scattered for it to recover. The furniture scattered the four wizards, who were all already visibly tired, and smashed against the wall of the cafeteria.

Ashleys powerful gust of wind sliced through a rank of the smaller tentacled creatures in the center of the room, killing all of them and sending them tumbling away. It struck its intended target, and slammed the floating creature against the wall, the thing having obviously been unprepared for the attack. Before it could recover, Jenns spell sent a tiny bolt of ice straight toward it, and when it struck, the entire creature froze solid, its form stuck to the wall. Its tentacles no longer writhed, and Ashley had a feeling that, if it wasn't dead, it was at least out of the fight for the moment.

Meanwhile, one of the walls of force protecting the group in the middle collapsed under the combined weight of three of the massive gray humanoids pounding their fists onto it. As it flickered out of existence, one of the mages in center dropped to the ground, apparently unconscious. Those within looked panicked, and looked desperately to Ashley and Jenn for aid.

Ashley smiled at her friend as the monster fell to the ground, apparently defeated. Then she took a moment to take a more through look at the tactical situation.

To her left, there was room for hope. None of the beasts had been defeated, but her two allies had already halted their advance, hopefully leaving the students free to start attacking. And while it was too soon for either of them to have reached the fight, she knew that both were accomplished hand to hand fighters, and ought to be able to handle themselves.

To the right, the situation was more desperate. The three enormous beasts were all still standing, and only one looked even injured, insofar as it was possible to tell with their strange biology. But Chole was close enough to attack by magic, which made it 5 on 3. They might still need help, but they might also win before Ashley could walk over there.

In the center, the situation was the desperate. There were fewer walls then there had been, and there were still six of the same beasts accosting the students on the right. If all the walls went down, things would get ugly quickly. It was also much closer. Ashley turned to her friend.

"The center. Hit them hard."

Ashley drew in her power, and forced it to a different end. Her first thought was drawing the air out of an area, quickly 'drowning' any beasts caught in it. But most of these things didn't have mouths. With some regret, Ashley drew in even more power. It was too much, if she wanted to keep fighting long, but the spell she had in mind wouldn't work with any less.

Rather then wind rushing in, slamming a single target into the ground, she drew the air into circles. It started slow, but quickly increased in speed until the whole room howled with the sound of wind strong enough to tear buildings apart. And at that point, suddenly, it didn't require nearly as much power to keep it going as it had to create the thing in the first place. Now all that remained was to see what it would do to the invaders. And the floor of the hall, for that matter, though Ashley had some hope that the stone floor of the magical university was strong enough not to be completely torn up.

Chloe looked at the group of students scatter from the tables and realized that if she didn't get to them soon they would be as good as dead. She had a choice to make. Stay put and pelt the creatures from range and hope the students got their act together or rush in and stop the beasts from ripping them limb from limb burning up most of her mana in the process.

She waited a moment he eyes meeting the pleading faces of the students and almost without thinking the words of a haste spell left her lips "By det mihi meam voluntatem et justo velocitate!"(casting level 3 buff speed). As she completed her spell Chloe began moving towards the cowering students shouting "focus your attacks!"

Jenn nodded to Ashley, and began casting at the same time as Ashley. Ashleys spell took effect first, a cyclone of wind rising from the floor to the ceiling. The smaller, tentacled creatures were caught up in the tornadoes wake, as were all of the tables and benches in that area, but the heavy stone of the floor held solidly. The smaller creatures bodies slammed against the bodies of the three larger ones that were trapped within the radius of the tornado, as well as the walls of force that defended the trapped students. The two behemoths didn't fall, but all of the two dozen smaller ones she'd caught up with her tornado were smashed flat. Through the sounds of the tornado, she could hear a pair of high pitched screams, and two of the behemoths were held immobile by the sheer force of the winds. One, however, managed to push through the buffeting winds of Ashleys tornado, and drag itself out into the open. It hurled aside its lesser kindred, who were still waving their tentacles pathetically at the walls of force, and ran straight toward Ashley, coming within about 45 feet of her. Jenn, meanwhile, grimaced darkly, and let out a low chant. At first, nothing happened, but then the smaller tentacled creatures on the opposite side of the wall from where Ashley had summoned her tornado exploded in grayish puss, and collapsed. The same substance leaked out of the affected juggernauts flesh, and the grasped at their skin painfully. They couldn't identify the source of their pain, however, and continued hammering against the walls of force. Another wall collapsed, followed shortly by another student in the center. Each of them was panicking now, as they glanced about, hoping that Ashley and Jenn could clear the monsters trying to get at them before the last of their defenses collapsed. All of them seemed exhausted, as though they'd already gone through much of their energy.

Meanwhile, Tesnya continued forward, but took a moment to reach out with one hand, and then yank it back. One of the farthest creatures from her suddenly hurls itself bodily through the air, smashing aside a half dozen of its kin, until it slams into a table and falls. All those struck laid still, their myriad of limbs not even so much as twitching in death throes. Charles rushed forward, and prepared to strike out at one of the creatures with his bare hands, but as he did, several lashed out with their tentacles at him. Not one even came close to touching him, due in no small part to the effects of his spell. He weaved aside frantically, but came away without any injuries to speak of. With seven dead, and five attacking Charles, only twelve were left pressing at Tesnyas wall of white light, which the creatures seemed loathe to touch.

Chloe hurried toward the four trapped students, who blasted ineffectually at the creatures. Waves of fire and line of lightning lanced out at the massive gray abominations, as did a powerful bolt of force and another bolt of green energy. They never seemed to get more than one at a time with their spells, even when they could affect multiple targets, but thankfully, one of the juggernauts fell between their combined powers and the injuries already inflicted upon them, and the other two seemed badly injured. Unfortunately, the remaining two now had a clear shot at the quartet of students, and threw themselves into the middle of the group. The one who had fired a bolt of force took a powerful blow that knocked them flat, while the one who had attacked with lightning was swatted aside as he tried to throw himself bodily in front of one of his female colleagues. Meanwhile, as she passed near to the group in the center, Chloe spotted a trio of the smaller creatures who had as yet survived Jenn and Ashleys barrage break off from the group and start toward her. She was faster than them, at least, and if she wanted to, she could easily simply keep going and ignore them, as they were still twenty feet away from her. She would just have to turn slightly more to the right to make sure that they didn't head her off.

Ashley's grim grin at successfully preformed magic faded as she saw one of the huge beasts break off from its attack on the shields and rush at her. Suddenly the situation seemed a bit more urgent.

She glanced quickly to either side. No help there. Charles and Tesyna were engaged, and the other girl was rushing towards the far corner, already too far away to return quickly even if the students in said corner weren't in dire trouble.

She could dispatch the beast without too much trouble, she hoped, but all these big spells were coming back to bite her. She would have to let her whirlwind go to deal with the one charging her, and she felt that at that point she might be too exhausted to call a new one into being. But holding on, keeping the tornado spinning and moving in the right direction, was much easier then starting it anew. And did just as much damage. With yet another ethereal wall down, her holding on to that tornado was the best bet for saving the students.

Ashley thrust out her right hand with an imperious gesturer, and willed her tornado to move slightly, to hit as many other of the foe as possible without allowing the one giant still inside to escape. With the other hand she pointed at the one that had already gotten away.

"Jenn! Kill it!"

Chloe looked over at the trio of creatures in annoyance and adjusted her course to avoid them. She had really just planed to keep running straight ahead but with two students down she need to throw up some more fire and hopefully get their attention. She looked at the two creatures ahead and only stopped briefly to let loose a spell and Taunt them. "By mea et ossa vestra ut favilla justo! Hey ugly didn't anyone teach you not to hit a girl!" Chloe had never been good at insults and hoped at lest this one would cause the brute she targeted to at least look in her direction... though she wasn't quite sure she wanted that either.

Things began to devolve further into chaos, as the creature charging toward Ashley absorbed Jenns spell, a bolt of ice that froze half of its torso, its grey flesh cracking and splitting, but continued on, a toothy maw appearing on its face as it screamed at them. The other two giants she had caught in her tornado forced themselves out as well, their bulk allowing them to resist the powerful winds and begin charging at her, coming within 45 feet of her, while the one that had initially escaped was already practically on top of her. Her tornado at least managed to kill another half dozen or so of the lesser creatures, who were slammed repeatedly against tables and the wall of force. Unfortunately, the three massive behemoths on the opposite side of the wall from where her tornado was continued pounding against the barriers in front of them, and another one of them dropped, along with ano0ther student in the center. Only one wall of force remained.

Charles and Tesnya at least seemed to be holding their own, as Charles snap kicked at one of the slimy creatures, sending it flying aside, where it crumpled to the ground, immobile. Tesnya swiped her arm across the group, and one of the other ones attacking Charles was bisected, falling in two pieces to the floor. None of the remaining three came even close to touching him as he weaved between their reaching tendrils, but the twelve who were pressing against the wall decided that they would be better suited to finding other prey, and started toward Tesnya. They got to within 30 feet of her, as she had stopped advancing to attack at range.

Chloe hurried forward, moving slightly to her right in order to avoid being attacked by the slimy creatures, which still trailed behind her. Thanks to her magically increased speed, she made good distance, getting another ten feet away from the trailing tentacled creatures, but still a good 220 feet away from the desperately fighting group. Her bolt of energy lanced out, but her target moved at the last second, and it impacted pointlessly against the wall. However, as she ran on, she felt her energy begin to fade as the exhaustion caused by so much spellcasting began to set it. Looking around her, she knew that Jenn, whom she still maintained a spell on in order to make her more able to avoid attacks, was about to be in a great deal of danger, and the creatures behind her would probably catch her if she let down her speed boost. Up ahead of her, however, another of the juggernauts fell as the female student unleashed another bolt of green energy at it, its body finally rotting away to a pile of foul smelling brown and grey pulp. The other student was not so lucky, however, as the orb of flame that impacted into the juggernauts chest didn't even slow. Its fist hammered into the poor boys chest, and he was sent flying away to land in a heap on the floor.

Ashley felt sweat beading on her forehead as the other two beasts managed to beat back the winds and pull themselves out of the maelstrom. The sweat of panic joined the sweat of concentration as Jenn's spell only staggered the one charging her, leaving it lumbering on towards Ashley. What would it take to kill these things?

Well, there wasn't exactly time to experiment. Ashley allowed her tornado to start dying rather then moving it back over the two new charging juggernauts, and switched her attention to the one that was about to reach her. She stepped back and to one side, trying to get one of the other two in a line with the one confronting her, and readied herself to loose a stream of powerful wind.

A quick glance at the other two groups showed that they were doing better then Jenn and Ashley. Charles and Tesyna had stopped the things attacking the young students, and killed nearly half of them, while chole and the four older students had taken down two juggernauts already, and the third looked injured. It looked like one of the students was down as well, but things looked about to get much worse here in the center of the room.

"There's only one shield left!"

Then, before the charging beast actually reached her, Ashley released the wind. It was a powerful spell, but nevertheless came easily to her. Even so, she could feel herself beginning to strain. One more big spell like that and she'd be reduced to caltrops. And there were still 7 juggernauts standing. She hoped some of the others were in a better state.

Chloe could feel the strain of the magic sapping her strength and knew she wouldn't be able to keep her spells up much longer. Jen was in immediate danger and while Chloe would be if she slowed down at all. Chloe frowned she didn't like her situation but new she stood a better chance against the small creatures then Jen did against the big ones. She moved as far as she could before letting her speed buff drop and begain casting a summon spell. Naturae meae voca placendum caput! She drew her dagger and planned her next move.

Ashleys incredibly powerful gust of wind slammed into the massive creature, sending it tumbling back for a second, and slamming into another of the beings as they charged toward Ashley and Jenn. Neither beast remained down for long, however, and as Jenn had unleashed another ball of power toward the group of enemies still pounding on the last wall of force, they received no further opposition. The three beings that still tried to break began leaking gray fluids, but did not fall as did the remaining the tentacled creatures. The wall of force remained in place, however, despite the strained look on the face of the one apparently maintaining it.

The behemoth directly in front of Ashley slammed its fist into her and lifted her off the ground by her waist. Its massive fingers wrapped around Ashleys body, and as she watched, a bulge of flesh slowly began extending out of the behemoths crotch, gradually forming into a two foot long, three inch wide cock that jutted out of its body, looking as though it was as hard as iron. The implications of what it planned were fairly obvious. Jenn looked on in horror, but she was quickly distracted by the two other juggernauts that were hurtling towards her, barely more than ten feet away as the monster holding her began grabbing at Ashleys clothes.

Tesnya issued a blast of energy at one of the half dozen creatures holding her, but the beings ran forward toward her, one of them managing to grab onto her with some of its tentacles. The tiny girl gasped as the slimy things writhed against her skin, and began to glow softly as she tried to struggle free. Charles slammed his fist against one of the creatures that was trying to reach for him, knocking it aside where it laid still. The creatures tentacles still didn't even come close to touching him, though they began to surround him.

Chloe ran forward as she allowed her spell to fail, getting another twenty feet forward, leaving Chloe still nearly within arms reach of the tentacled creatures as she cast her spell, summoning a creature that would hopefully help her distract the things. The white fluffy creature appeared in front of her, between the two tentacled creatures and Chloe, but she still felt the strain as her energies began to drain. Behind her, however, the last remaining student unleashed an orb of green light at the last surviving creature, causing it to rot away on the floor. She was clearly exhausted as well, but immediately turned her eyes toward the other battles, and seemed prepared to intervene somewhere.

Ashley barely had to time to scream out a curse as her spell failed to kill the behemoth charging her before it had her off the ground. The other two were too close for Jenn to have a reasonable chance of helping without being grabbed herself. And she had already nearly exhausted her supply of magic. There were ways to deal with that, as long as she didn't actually run out... but then she saw the iron-hard phallus forming under her, and realized the thing wasn't trying to crush her, but to tear off her clothes.

In a sudden panic she temporarily abandoned plans to recover her energy and struck out with the first spell she could bring to mind, immediately hoping that it would be strong enough to at least force the thing to drop her. It was too late to change her mind, though, and a stream of air burst forth from her hand and into the beast's chest.

Chloe grinned as the beast rotted to nothing but it quickly faded her own situation and that of her companions where not much better than those they tried to help. Her bunny friend would not make much of distraction and her remaining energy would do little to help her in the upcoming fight however she could still get one last spell off before she became to exhausted. The only thing left was to determine who need it more her or the other girls being assaulted by the brutes. She looked at the girl already grabbed by the beast and made up her mind. "I guess Ill see how well I can use my dagger after all" Chloe took several steps back dagger held in front of her and channeld the last of her energy into her final spell targeting the best thats holding Ashley.
