Re: Multiplayer Gaming

Pushing on with the game... and my opinion is lowering. I'll probly play a month of it (the free month) and cancel the subscription.

Should have picked up DemiGod instead.

Re: Multiplayer Gaming

I'm pretty sure it's just some rate of play.

I accidentally stumbled onto some trailers for a game called Legendary a while back and then decided not to look into it hearing it was terrible, despite my view of it's premise being incredible and trailers looking awesome. Then after hearing some individual reports about it being good, I'm thinking of getting it.

Any of you ever heard of it?

Legendary. That's the game about Pandora's Box right?
I still haven't played, but some friends (read, not paid magazine reviewers) said it was pretty good.

It's meh. The visuals are interesting, but the game mechanics are about as sophisticated as those in the first Turok game on the N64. As far as I know, there are no head shots (when I played the demo I emptied 4 clips from an assault rifle into one enemies skull and it didn't die. It wasn't a boss either, just a fairly powerful regular enemy.) The guns are all pretty much the same, as far as I saw, and most of them suck.

They could and should have made the game a lot much more fun and interesting, but as is it's just a bland FPS with werewolves and griffins for enemies.

Re: Multiplayer Gaming

Werewolves are the only enemy I'm aware of headshots for.

I wish more people had heard of Clive Barker's Undying.

Re: Multiplayer Gaming

I've got Undying.

Honestly, I personally have to say that I didn't find it as scary as the reviews and other stuff said it was. Then again, Clive Barker does a lot of psychological "mess with your mind" horror, and I'm a little bizarre already.

Re: Multiplayer Gaming

Ok, I'm gonna try to push this through.

I play one game right now. It's free, and it's fun. A lot like WoW I guess, although I never really played that more than a few hours.

I want ULMF'ers. In my guild. NAO.

(oh yeah, and the client download is fucking HUGE)

Walk around with the dragon cannon all the time, then it gets scary. It makes the same sound effect of the enemies that run really fast and crawl on walls and such. It gets very annoying, after a while.

Re: Multiplayer Gaming

Your steam rating goes up the more you play within two weeks. I think 32 hours within two weeks gets you a 10.

Did you base all that off of a demo? Cause games change between demos and full games...

Regardless, though I've heard of Undying, I never got a chance to play. I hope it was better than Mr. Barker's newest game Jericho, which bored me pretty quickly.

True.

I didn't like Jericho either, but again I only played the demo.

Re: Multiplayer Gaming

Let's see... right now I have:
Planetside (free 14 day trials, so I don't get far level wise, but that doesn't matter since I always run Uni-Max)
Dystopia
Guild Wars (Prophecies and Nightfall)(might look into GW2)
Command & Conquer Tiberium Wars
C&C Red Alert 3
WCIII: Frozen Throne
Exteel
Synergy

X360:
Whatever I've mentioned before (I'm sure I've posted them somewhere)
and now Halo 3: ODST (bro got it as a gift)

Planetside, for those who don't know, is a PERSISTENT MMOFPS. It has ups and downs, Sony Online Entertainment doesn't pay it as much attentions as they should, and the past couple of weeks have seen the return of hackers (noclip, instantly unloading the entire clip, aimbots, etc), but it's still fun enough to use the trials on dangit >.<
Plus they're apparently working on Planetside 2. I think the devs that took over decided to quit dicking around and do something. A lot of what's wrong with the current version is original coding that's so entangled in patches and poor repairmanship that starting over is actually easier. If they manage to even just fix what's wrong now, I'll be happy. I'd also like to see more balance, because as it is, teams (3 factions; TR, NC, and VS... I'm TR mainly) are definitely not balanced; they're better than they were, but there's still a bit of unfairness.

Guild Wars I play because, well, it's there. I didn't have to pay for anything, my bro had it and let me use it. It's an MMORPG I can play through practically solo (I don't count the AI henchmen)

Exteel is... well... it IS still fun, but they've done too much to please the people that donate (yes, it uses the donate system to give advantageous stuff to people that pay real money), that us that can't, or won't, donate don't have much choice.

Halo 3: ODST... I still have to play that. My bro's been hogging it >.<

Re: Multiplayer Gaming

Well, since my post on Runes of magic was completely ignored, I'll mention it again. And again, and again and again. Until someone notices me. (I'm 6 mentally you know.)

Runes of magic. Free to play, free to download. There is the option of paying, but you can get everything without spending a nickle. (That's what I'm doing, and seein people pay to get the same stuff I'm getting for free is quite satisfying.)

Runesofmagic.com

Also, anyone here that joins is guaranteed a place in my guild.

Tried that, shortly after I got the weapon. Was only annoyed, not scared.

From some of the stuff that I'd read on the game, it's the disembodied voices, like when you're near somewhere that you're supposed to use the Scrye power. For some people, having a voice from a source not visible saying things to you is quite unnerving. Also, the sudden apparitions, particularly of Aaron Covenant. While I think that it's supposed to be scary, I personally find those events more annoying that scary.

Then again...I know quite a bit more about ghosts and whatnot than the average gamer. That could be where part of my problem with the game comes in. I'm sitting there either thinking "Ok, something like that would be cool to catch on an audio device" (The "Look around" voices) or "That's not something that could actually injure, coming from a human spirit". (The point early on, when Aaron appears in his 'monster' form and swings a chain at you once)

I haven't long come off a game of TF2 where I was dominating Bartnum with the Pyro. Looks like I've found my main, eh? :D

Re: Multiplayer Gaming

Some people have gotten really good with the strategy of lighting someone on fire and instantly airblasting them upwards. While they're flying, you quickswitch to the axetinguisher and crit them.

It's actually really helpful if you can get them with it. It's a bit high risk, but what isn't with the pyro. Try it out for a while.
