Just a word of clarification for the banana's.
There's three types.
1st> The one that people seem to get stacks of for various reasons (Delicious Bananas), and more often then not don't seem to do anything because even with them they may not be making the show up chances more noticeable. Even if it's a low chance, a boost of even 10% (guestimate #) might not make something show up.
2nd> Is the 2nd type of banana USD Banana, this comes with the set of canisters(11x) for 30$.
This Banana has to be used from items page before you start the quest area, no option is given when you are in quest area to use it. Once used the first quest area you go into the legendary WILL pop, so good thing you bought those canisters. Did not see a difference for bosses.
3rd> The OMG you spent how much on a single banana? aka: USDD Banana
Well the caveat for that one is simple, it lasts for 14 days and any mission you enter you will see the rares/legends at least once, but only one time per area is guaranteed (will be first time through). So you get the banana and run each area once, provided you have 5 canisters you just nailed all 5 legends and probably any rares for the area you had. Again I do not know for sure, but other banana's didn't seem to change boss chances, so I wouldn't expect this one to either, though with that price one would hope so.
Hopefully this clears up the banana split a little.
TL : DR - USD & USDD bananas good, others not so much.
My advise: If you do plan to, now or any time in the future, buy anything in the game, currently the Canister Set (of 11) is currently the best deal for the most guaranteed bang for your buck.

It's worth mentioning the "beginner's packs" were not worth the cost IMO.
