Evolving cards is a little harder, but I would say to play arena skirmish matches because getting the gacha points and not levelling yourself up is a better way to go I think. The reason being is unless you start doing the event quests early on, it is useless to level yourself up so fast otherwise.
You will get 200xp for each normal you toss into the fire, I think a rare gives you 400, and the R xp cards give 1k. The gold cost is pretty negligible for what it costs to do it and can be easily covered by the money you are given every day.
That all being said, if there is another grind out event like this in the future, it is certainly worth doing it right from the start as those rare level xp cards can help you in a heartbeat.
The reason why I disagree with others in starting the event quests now is that the lower level you are the easier it is to progress through the event as you will not have to wait as long between level ups and free energy refills as I do at level 90. Before level 50 I think I almost never had to wait to level myself, but now at level 90 it takes 6 hours to get my stamina back and I have to get about 530xp (about 4 full stamina dumps) to level up. That means I can level up once a day if I never waste any stamina.
The easiest way to compare is my own experience, the first grind to 20 quest event I was level 40 and finished the 10th quest with 2 days to spare. This one there are 2 days left in the event as a whole and I am almost about to finish the 9th quest tomorrow when I wake up. I have not been able to micro my energy as well this time, and it gets progressively worse as I level up further. I never used any manner of stamina refilling aside from when I get the refills upon levelling up.
