Re: Monster Girl Quest: Paradox

Nah you didn't skip any steps. You just chose one of two paths.
You can either side with Lily or Lucia. If you had sided with Lily then Lucia would have appeared in the tower to the south as the boss. I'm guessing the place opens up no matter who you side with so you can still have access to some of the monsters in there.
Ok, I made the choice I'm comfortable with then. Now I just need to find whatever is needed to recruit Chrome and figure out wherever Eva is located. It doesn't look like Sphinx is recruitable (Defeating her does nothing, as does bringing Sara with you to talk to her). Likely true with the Harpy Queen as well which makes me : (.

So far my only complaint with the game is that too many of the new monster "slots" are occupied by chimeras, they deserve their niche but across the three Tartarus dungeons + Luddite Village Dungeon I feel as if their inclusion goes a bit overboard.

That and
A lot of the designs I feel people were looking forward to like the new succubus trio and some of the other designs shown off in the blog are barely encountered, which will probably leave some frustrated
. Also
No appearances by the 4 Heavenly Knights other than a small cameo by Tamamo?

Re: Monster Girl Quest: Paradox

FYI, don't update to the new 1.01 patch Torotoro released. It's unplayable and crashes within minutes. I'm sure he'll release another one soon enough, but it'll delay a translation patch if not. Other than that, I think technical hurdles have been worked out. Still some more manual copying and translating new menu stuff. Hoping to get a chunk of gameplay-relevant things sorted out for a first patch too.

To recruit Chrome

-Head to the cave located southwest of Monte Carlo. Make sure you have someone in your party who can open blue chests or higher (and double check to make sure that the ability is actually equipped). Make your way down to BF3 where you'll find three chests. The blue chest contains the item you need to recruit Chrome and Frederika.

To recruit Eva
-in Monte Carlo speak to the hooded individual standing in front of the tent in the southeast side of town
-he's selling information, which you should buy. Now head to Illias Village and speak with Lazarus. You'll receive a note which you can show to the guard back in Monte Carlo. The one blocking the door to the building in the northeast side of town.
-inside the building on the first floor speak to the man at the table wearing the green cloak. He should be the proper trigger. Once you finish talking to him head to the Inn to move the Eva events forward.

Does anyone agree with me that even if they recycle a lot of art, the trailer for the game is really well made. Hell when i saw the cut in attacks, i immediately got hooked lol

Re: Monster Girl Quest: Paradox

this one's a bit tricky, you need to find Amila. First talk to a little girl in front of the fountain, then the a guy in the blacksmith's store, then a guy in the tool shop, then go in the alley behind that and talk to the guy hanging out at the end, THEN go to Iliasville and speak to the priest who changes jobs, THEN go back to Iliasburg and talk to the little girl again for good measure and also see the guards harassing the worm girl, THEN go to the mountain cave in the west that has 3 graves at the entrance, clear that, go back to Iliasburg, find Amila, then go all the way back to that giant black hole on the world map you'll find are called Tatarus', then go east from there and talk to a bunny girl at the inn in some town called Porno something, then go back to the Tartarus and clear that.

phew.
I got up to the point with talking to the Gambler, but I can't seem to get to him since there is a Orc Girl blocking the path to him. Any idea how to get rid of her?

Edit: I think I might've been hit with a gamebreaking bug(It might have to do with going to the cave just east of the Thieves cave and triggering a scene with Illias and slime girl before doing the Thieves section). I tried a old save where I just met the White Rabbit girl and I went though the process smoothly.

There's an accessory which, in the patch, is called the 'Hard Job Wrist' and looks kind of like a golden armband. It stops you from gaining EXP, but doubles your Job EXP. In addition, Luca and Sonya are both humans, and so get access to Support skills that redistribute their Experience points, though you can unequip those abilities in the ability screen. You may have one or both active.

Is Thief unlocking the ability to unlock chests a specific level? I'm trying to figure out how the blue chests are unlocked. I have Lyme at level 6 or 7 Thief, and still can't unlock blue.

Job change is done via the priest in the temple. You select a character, then select job change, and then pick a job. Mastering two or more jobs lets you pick a second level job progression.

Re: Monster Girl Quest: Paradox

My biggest complaint with the game so far is that the areas do not specify what level you should be before entering them. Since the game is so open-ended, even following the main plotline can put you in Tartarus/Remina with a death wish.

The low character HP means that an enemy can one-shot you, even if you're putting out enough damage to take them out.

Although I am average level 6 in Tartarus, so, I have no idea how people have made it to 12. Is Exp accumulation shared with your party? So, you earn less exp the more party members you have?

Nah, just sheer grinding, as far as I can see DIFFICULTY and how many party members you have have no effect on XP gained, so pretty much set it to very easy and grind a bit, then go back to normal or something, thats what im doing, damn mimics with their one shot kills.

Also to clarify my earlier post I am in San Ilia, anyone know how I can change jobs here?

I don't think you -can- recruit the Harpy Queen (As of Part 1), but to recruit the Slug Tree thing I just talked to her again after defeating her and she joined.

Unless the Harpy Queen is locked behind some ultra obscure condition or sidequest I don't think she's obtainable.

Nanabi seems to be the highest "rank" monster girl that you can recruit in Part 1, after you beat her she joins the party already at level 30 and maxed out on all her starting levels. Other "optional" girls obtained from quests that I noticed are Lily (or) Lucia, Eva, Meia, Chrome & Frederika, 4 Child Bandits, Sara, Octopus Girl in the first Tartarus (Not really a quest, but seemingly optional boss), Lizardwoman Bandit leader, and the Slug girl leader.

Re: Monster Girl Quest: Paradox

Well, seems to be two types of basic attack, physical and pleasure. Even if you have physical resistance which drops hits down to like 3-4 damage, it seems pleasure can one-shot Luka.

Not sure how to increase defense against pleasure.

anyone know how I can change jobs here?
You could always fly back to Illiasburg?

Re: Monster Girl Quest: Paradox

Easiest (?) way to travel seems to be using the castle to teleport back to the BF girl locations, basically serves as fast travel since there's one per major town.

Yes, to make it worse, Luka also have ability to increase exp by make him more vulnerable to pleasure attack, so beware when you equip ability for Luka...
