I'm pretty sad about Melissa's performance. At a glance she looks amazing. Running the numbers she should be one of the best. But in practice she's got such low attack damage that if she doesn't crit or use her skill it usually means that I have to hit the boss an extra time to get my minimum. Of course, this is mostly due to what continues to feel to me like rigged RNG. No, I don't buy it that I continue to get to get 2-3 turns in a row with zero skill procs. Statistically that should be an incredibly rare occurrence. In practice, it happens several times a day. Something is fishy with the programming.
What gap are you closing? There isn't any PVP and everything is pretty easily doable with free units
There isn't any relevant PVP in LoV, either. However, enormous advantages are gained in progression in Aigis with higher star and rare units like princesses. In LoV you don't even really need specific powerful cards or equipment. It just makes the game flow better and that mostly in the early game.
I would argue against the notion of the game being easy with free units. To be fair the game is very easy...exactly up until the point at which your current units are insufficiently strong to go further. Maybe if I stuck around for a year and grinded I could get through it as F2P. However, the gameplay was far too frustrating for that sort of commitment. "Learning" maps is brutally punished by ZERO gold/XP on losses. So without explicitly stating it the game forces you to forever farm safe maps until you can brute force through whatever map you're stuck on. Otherwise, you lose out on many many levels and have much weaker units because you haven't accumulated as much fodder. I say this having looked up strategies on youtube and utilized them any time I was stuck. Lastly, whatever safe map I was working on at the time became incredibly boring and tedious.
