@Jack, as this is a browser game, the only thing you should need is an internet connection and an account, so it shouldn't matter if your PC is in for repair, as long as you manage to register for Kancolle on your DMM account.

As in how many fleets you can have? There are certain quests which will give you more fleets. Check the wiki man. It has all of this.

Just started and has nothing but bunch of DD and CL

Well sometimes the flagship protect the other when they got attacked but i don't really know how exactly it works
And the success of the expedition depend on the flagship level too(and the composition of the fleet)
By the way, what is the white hammer thing in the equipment list?

Emergency repair. You can put it on a ship you think may get sunk in an upcoming sortie.
