Re: Competition (Azure)

Capri immediately cleared his throat, "Soon-to-be-husband." he corrected Azure, though the other men around them only gave half-interest.

Then, suddenly a voice rudely came from behind Azure, before a woman's hand tried to shove Azure to the side. "Get the fuck out of my way, fat ass snake!" Shouted the rude intruder. After she passed, Azure could get a look at her. She was a woman with blond hair done into a pair of long braids that reached her heels. She wore a grin that seemed her natural expression, and it showed a set of devilish teeth that looked to belong on a monster. She wore a witch's hat and walked with a broom in hand, clearly a member of the coven.

"M-Metal...!" Marth cried out in terror at the witch, who held out her arms as if expecting praise worthy of a messiah.

"I'm back, you pathetic mansluts! And you won't believe the job offer you won't be getting!" Metal the Witch laughed.

Re: Competition (Azure)

Azure turned to Capri and gave him a smile at the correction, clearly pleased by the declaration.

At Metal's arrival, however, her expression flattened. Swinging the end of her tail around, she brought it up to hit the witch square in her ass with the intent of knocking her off-balance.

"Oops. Sorry," she giggled out with just a touch of 'airheadedness' to it. "Guess my fat ass needs more room than I though." As she speaks, her tone grows more level. "So if you're done with the insults, you can tell them about the job or you can get the hell out of here."

Re: Competition (Azure)

Whipped from behind, the witch turned to Azure with eyes screaming for bloody murder. "You fucking bitch... Do you have any idea who you're dealing with!?" The witch called out, before magic wove from her faster than she could react, and Azure would find strange black tentacles coming forth from the witches hands, and tying around Azure. Once wrapped, the witch stepped forth, and gripped Azure's points on her chest between her index and thumbs, before pulling harshly. "You trying to impress these little pieces of shit? Go ahead and fuck them to your heart's content, and give their little dicks a sniff while you're at it. That's me you'll be smelling~" Metal announced, throwing a claim that she had sex, or rather, raped each of them.

A moment longer of Metal pinching Azure's nipples, and Marth would reveal something he was conjuring up, a spell that sought out and destroyed the bindings holding Azure. "Stop it, Metal!" Marth insisted.

Re: Competition (Azure)

Azure lets out a hiss at the pinch, more pain than her natural inclination toward the sound. Even as she's bound, she growls at the witch. "A trumped up tart," she grits out through her teeth, "who's gonna to get what's coming to her."

Given that she's already straining against the tentacles, when Marth shatters the spell, or gives Az the means to do so, she'll pitch forward, catching herself and actually coiling herself around the other woman, enough, at the very least, to press her hands close to her body, tightening her lower body and tail as she does so.

"One chance," she states, her voice icy. "Leave them alone. Or I'll see that broom of yours crammed so far up your ass you'll be spitting splinters. Now run back to your fellow bitches before I decide to make a snack out of you."

She'll abruptly uncoil, the effect similar to loosening the grip of a fist and slither around, taking up a defensive, but hostile, in front of the group of men.

Re: Competition (Azure)

"You fucking...!" The witch cursed as Azure restrained her, and issued her warning. Let go, Metal got back up to her feet, looking furious. "So that's how it is!? This fat ass snake trying to look all tough! Rest assured, you'll regret acting tough! I'll see you cooked on a stick!" The witch cursed, before leaving the building and flying off on her broom.

Meanwhile, Capri was standing there with a dumbfounded look on his face. So shocked was he that his jaw was actually hanging. "Was that a special case, or are many women as insane as she was?" Capri indicated towards the witch.

"Not many, but..." Marth rubbed his nose from where he was seated with his books.

"There's some women that are like that, yeah." Zidane responded. Capri seemed at a total loss, as if afraid that he might have to deal with such a woman himself in the future.

Re: Competition (Azure)

Azure relaxes after Metal takes off. "And it's the birds that crow the loudest that are the ones with something to prove." She'll straighten herself up a little, easing over to Capri and slipping an arm around his waist. "No all of us, sweetling, unless you have something to say about me?" she teases, pressing a finger to his nose, smiling, so he knows he's not in trouble.

Letting out a sigh, she'll relax against him a little, careful not to put her full weight on him and stumble him over. "Thank you, Marth. I'll have to remember she can do that in the future, if it comes to that."

"Sounds like she was bragging about a job. You feel up to trying for it?"

Re: Competition (Azure)

"Same shit, different day," Ragna replied with a disgusted grunt.

Zidane shrugged. "That was our plan, wasn't it? Besides... I think I've got one more good fight left in me!" he announced, before beginning stretching exercises.

Zwei nodded to his feline companion. "Perhaps our new associate will make up the difference." He suggested, cracking his knuckles.

"Yeah... Hold that thought," Zidane replied, showing nothing but skepticism for Azure.

Marth rose up, apparently ready to abandon his books for now. He was silent, and apparently afraid of the coming brawl.

Ragna pat Marth on the back. "Don't worry! If we fail, you can become the husband of a big orc or something!"

Marth paled at his suggestion, before suddenly seeming fired up well. "I'm not going to get humped by a smelly orc! Let's kick their asses!" he cheered, suddenly leading the charge outside. It wasn't out of bravery of course, he only seemed to be running from imaginary stinky orcs.

Re: Competition (Azure)

Azure hides a laugh at the young wizard behind a cough, watching him go. Best to worry about that bridge if things came to that. Though she does cock her head at Zwei a little.

"I thought you wanted to do this by yourselves? I'll accompany you, if you wish, but they might cause a fuss if you look to be bringing in a numerical advantage. I likely won't step in unless absolutely necessary. Then you can claim victory for yourselves."

If that is what they want, Azure will follow them to take in the situation and the mamono that have been giving them a hard time. If Capri wishes to come along, he's welcome, though she advises him to stick close to her, especially around this pack.

Re: Competition (Azure)

"Of course you are not to fight on our behalf, but I need not say anything further. Our success or failure in this coming fight will determine if your presence had an impact." He responded, being the last of the group of four to walk out.

Capri would nod to Azure, and stick close to her. It appeared he was slightly excited to see the ensuing conflict, although seemed just as nervous as well.

The four male combatants would step out and walk along the bridges that linked the pillar islands, before reaching a crude building in the lower corner of the giant hole in the earth. There was a shabby building that seemed to center around a noticeboard for anyone to post requests upon. It seemed devoid of any actual papers, and that was likely due to the culprits standing in front of the shabby building made of coral stone. One of the four women standing there Azure would remember. She looked furious, most especially so upon seeing that Azure was apparently following the four men to their location.

"Is she the lamia, Metal?" inquired the shinobi of the four fighters.

"Yeah, that's the fat snake who needs an ass beating." Replied Metal, who seemed to acquire a rather deep hate for Azure.

"Mmm!" grunted a well toned warrior woman. "After our victory, I shall see how strong she is!"

The last... Was the lizard girl. She said nothing, and maintained such a serious face that the world seemed about to turn to ice just from her icy cold glare. The four boys lined themselves up, each simply getting ready to attack the targets that the plan would have them attack. The lizard girl stepped forth towards Zidane, and suddenly had her blade up to his chin before anyone could even be shocked by her stepping up to him. It was certainly hard keeping up with her if you wanted to see more than just her afterimage.

Zidane looked quite shaken to have this woman staring at him. When she spoke, he seemed to become stiff from how tense he was. "... I feel sorry for you." She stated simply, before the girls stepped forth towards the men. They were answering their desire to switch without hesitation, brimming with confidence that the boys would not win despite their new strategy. Zidane was the only one that seemed to agree, as he looked hopeless in front of the lizardkin. Her intense stare seemed to be digging into him harshly.

Re: Competition (Azure)

Azure takes in the group of mamono, keeping her distance from the four of them more out of courtesy for the men than showing any sort of fear regarding the other women. As Metal remarks about her getting her ass beat, however, she brings her fingers to her lips and blows a kiss in the witch's direction, her tail lashing back and forth at the same time. She seems a little hesitant to say anything to the men, not wanting to tip off that she's doing more than observing them but to not encourage them wouldn't seem right. It takes her a heartbeat, then she smiles a little.

"Have fun kicking ass, boys. I know I'll have fun watching you do it."

Re: Competition (Azure)

The lizard girl slashed at the ground in front of her, causing sparks to shoot forth, and her blade to suddenly erupt in a blue flame that remained constant even after her flashy move was over. The battle began with the enemy's strongest fighter leading the charge, and Zidane moving to intercept. She moved so fast that it took Azure's enhanced and inhuman perception just to barely follow her movements. There was an immediate problem with her speed, and that was the fact that she was even faster than she saw Zidane to be. Zidane was already jumping back and lifting his blades to block as the lizard warrior swung with her blunt side, and collided into his protective stance. Sparks flew once more, and Zidane was sent flying backwards, straight towards Azure as he landed against her. It was clear just from that. Zidane wasn't going to last terribly long against her.

Meanwhile, Metal laughed at what she saw of their strategy. "You think sending someone to distract our strongest is going to improve your odds? Lot of good that snake is doing you!" she taunted, before raising her hand, millions of tiny threads seen only by Azure's somewhat limited sense of magic coming from Metal's fingers. Whatever she was preparing, it was a big spell, and it seemed obviously capable of instantly winning the enemy the fight before Azure would even know what kind of spell it was. It carried that kind of terrifying presence. However, Ragna's plan came into action, and he pointed the flat side of his blade at Metal, before punching it with his hand, causing an impossibly bright flash to shine directly into Metal's eyes. Whatever spell she was forming was apparently explosive, as a large explosion was suddenly combusted in the air. "She isn't apart of this fight." Ragna stated in a challenging tone towards the witch. Metal was growling and cursing and covering her eyes with her hands following Ragna's sudden attack on her overconfidence. She looked disoriented, but she still faced in his direction and opened her eyes a wink in order to snarl with pure hatred. "YOU... COCKY LITTLE FREAK!" she cursed, weaving more magic while Ragna was already charging at her.

Then, a rather light hearted laugh came from the battlefield. The red haired amazon was faced off with Marth, who was weaving his magics against her. Ice suddenly began to form in front of him, and quickly chase towards the amazon, who didn't move a muscle. She was grinning even as she looked down and saw his attack coming at her. Suddenly, the amazon let out a thunderous laughter that had such power by her voice alone that it made Azure's body tingle after experiencing it's vibrations. The sudden laugh and volume behind it was easy to shake off for a monster such as Azure, but it was unfortunate for Marth, who seemed to have been shaken by her voice. His ice crystals lost their concentration, but still formed around the amazon's feet... Before she threw her leg up, shattering the ice that stuck to her, and charging at Marth, bringing her fist back and delivering it to his abdomen while extending her tongue to lick her lips in delight of her powerful strike. "You are an inexperienced coward!" the amazon taunted, before bringing her leg around and hooking it around Marth's head as he gasped from her prior blow, and snapped her leg back, throwing him to the ground. Kneeling down, she picked Marth up, only to hold him in a headlock, causing Marth to squirm and struggle pointlessly as she strangled him. She grinned sadistically while she dominated him in this way. "I love hurting you~" she cooed into Marth's ear.

"Marth!" Zwei called out for his comrade, before a sudden attack from his opponent, the shinobi, forced him to dodge, taking a slight cut while he was at it. Their entire fight had been a long series of counterattacks. The shinobi would rush in on the offensive, attacking with speed almost matching the lizard woman's. Zwei would either block or dodge her attacks until she got close enough, when he attacked in turn, trying to grab and punch and kick her, but she moved back until she was out of his range, only to try once again to attack him, spinning with her blades in an elegant dance that was as beautiful to watch as it was threatening. On one of her attacks, she spun her leg around, and in a surprise moment, it connected. Zwei took the impact, but this seemed intentional. He grabbed her leg, and pulled her closer, before taking her waist so that she was facing away from him, and suddenly throwing himself back, bringing her with him, and suplexing her, smashing her head into the ground.

The shinobi fell over, unconscious and defeated. Zwei had an expression of hope, before he looked back to Marth, and despaired. The amazon was just finishing a crude kiss on his lips, before releasing his unconscious form to the ground. As she stood up, wiping the saliva from her mouth, Zwei cursed at her. "You will pay." he swore, while the amazon simply chuckled. "You actually beat her? What a sucker she was." the Amazon chuckled, before letting out a beast-like roar, grinning at Zwei with sharp teeth. He wasn't shaken like Marth, but he maintained his composure. The amazon was no worse for wear, and he surely remembered who was the better fighter.

A sudden feminine cry was heard. Metal's form was collapsing to the ground following a flash of Ranga's sword. He didn't waste a moment being thankful for taking out his opponent as he stepped up beside Zwei. "We don't have time to waste on her. Zidane's at his limit." he cautioned his fellow comrade. Zwei gave Ragna a cold nod, before they faced off against the lone Amazoness.

What Ranga said was true. After returning to the fight from Azure, Zidane's fight was likely hard to watch. It was so one-sided that is was no longer a fight, it was simply abuse, and a matter of how long Zidane could take it. He didn't go on the full defensive, as it would be only too obvious that the lizard girl would switch targets. He first kept his eyes on her blade, and was promptly punished by her knee striking his ribs. He could barely dodge her attacks. The moment he had to return the offensive, he was punished for it. She swung her sword, and he would barely avoid it by jumping into the air for an aerial strike. The lizard kin simply grabbed at arm's reach by sealing her claw around his neck, and promptly choke-slamming him into the ground. He tried rolling from the ground to attack from the side, before her elbow quickly struck the side of his head, causing him to fall over on his side before she brought her foot up, and slammed it down, crushing the air out of his lungs. "I admire your tenacity." The lizard woman said casually. "This is the most determination you've had so far." she complimented him.

She lifted her foot off of him, before looking to Ragna and Zwei fighting the Amazon, and slowly heading their way with calm steps. In a stroke of desperation, Zidane reached out, and grabbed her ankle. "Where are you going..." he wheezed, before she turned, and flashed the smallest grin, before stepping to the side, and delivering a harsh kick to his side, kicking Zidane into the air, and flying back towards Azure again. "Catch," she instructed the lamia, and when he landed, caught or not, Azure would clearly see that Zidane was out.

It was a simple matter for Zwei and Ragna to handle the single opponent. Zwei moved in first, and collided his strength against her own. The Amazon would use a quick grapple maneuver to throw him away and deal with Ragna quickly, but not quick enough as a wide swipe would hit her. The amazon was knocked back, before Zwei quickly recovered, jumped at her, caught her, and brought her back down to the ground head-first. The rest of their fight was Ragna and Zwei trading blows against the amazon, rushing her to completely overwhelm her, which they did with exceptional teamwork.

The end result was Zwei and Ragna facing off with the final foe standing. The two sides stared off at one another. Zwei and Ragna were deciding how to take down the final and most impressive foe, while it seemed the female warrior herself was deciding which of the two to take out first. "The appearance of your new associate has made quite the impression. Teamwork and organization, something both our sides lacked. I feel insulted though, that the best plan you had against me was outnumbering me." She said calmly.

"Did you have a better idea?" Ragna inquired, tightening the grip on his sword.

"No, but I always thought our duels to be romantic." The lizard announced, an endearing smile on her face. She seemed to like Ragna.

"Rushing her won't work like the amazon." Ragna announced, making sure Zwei got the idea, before Ragna charged first. It seemed their plan was to ensure the lizard couldn't pressure any one of them by switching who was her target. Zwei got behind her, just as Ragna's swipe were reflected, causing him to retreat or face dire consequences. Zwei attacked with a harsh punch, which the lizardess dodged and made a defensive kick, knocking Zwei back before having to kneel and hold her blade over her head as Ragna quickly came slamming down on her. Despite it being two on one, it seemed like an even fight with slight favor in the lizard's direction. Ragna and Zwei fought with all they had, while the lizardess maintained her composure, not losing focus at all even while dealing with two skilled foes at once. Beating them back as they came, they were testing her stamina, while Ragna and Zwei seemed to be taking a progressive beating.

Knocked back, Ragna landed near Marth's motionless body. Panting, he remained there a moment to catch his breath, before charging towards the lizardess once more. She raised her blade to block, before gasping in shock. A bright flash came from Ragna's blade, blinding the lizardess just as Metal had been. Ragna swung his blade round, striking her armor. Zwei came from behind, delivering a powerful punch to her back. The two unleashed all they had... Until she could take no more, and fell to the ground.

"That was really bad, Marth." Ragna announced with dissatisfaction.

Marth suddenly pushed himself up slightly. "W-what!? You guys were losing!" he complained.

"Pretended to fall unconscious?" Zwei inquired, and Marth nodded slowly.

"But... I still can't believe it..." Marth adjusted himself to a sitting position. "We won! We really won!"

"You kept up your act, even when she took your lips..." Zwei seemed to admire him.

"WE WON OKAY!?" Marth cried.

Re: Competition (Azure)

Watching Zidane and the lizard-girl going at it was decidedly painful, Azure almost feeling the blows that he was blocking jarring her own teeth each time they seemed to connect. She'll help steady him as he collides into her, there being a very subtle rub from her against his back, a silent encouragement about all that she can give, considering she wasn't participating in the fight. Of course, Metal's taunts draw her attention elsewhere and when she sees the spell building, there's that unconscious push to put Capri behind her. Even if she doesn't know the spell, she knows it's not good and letting him get hit by it too is not part of the plan. When Ranga disrupts it, the other man can see her let out a breath that she'd been holding.

Hearing Zwei call out to Marth, she almost snapped for him to pay attention to his own fight. Despite the loss, they needed to stay focused. Thankfully, the attacks from the shinobi did just that and she actually let out a little wince seeing his end to the fight. The end of Marth's, however, has her letting out a not-so-quiet growl and she sort of slithers in place, the equivalent to an anxious pace of someone with two feet.

Given the sounds of blows and blades connecting, her attention moves back to Zidane while the other two engage the Amazon. Capri might catch the tension in her, a desire in her to help him held at bay by her promise to let them succeed--or fail--on their own. Seeing him grab at her, even as he's lying there actually has her blurting out a nervous sort of laugh, disbelief in the sound and a faint touch of pride, though it's fairly clear the sight of him makes her ache. It's even more obvious when he's sent sailing in her direction again, unconscious this time, and she moves to catch him before he lands on the ground again. Adjusting him to a more comfortable position, she lets him be for the time being, attention too focused on the remaining two men and their fight to worry about rousing the catboy.

Watching the lizard-girl taking on the two of them, even with numbers against her, it still seems a close fight. She'll admit that the other mamono certainly has skill, and a temperament slightly more tolerable than the others, but that doesn't stop Azure from wishing for a slight slip in the other woman's guard or some brief moment the two can exploit. That prayer seems to be answered in the flash that blinds her and when she realizes the cause, a laugh bubbles up out of the lamia and the three can hear a faint clapping, too, more delight than praise, but that's there as well. If they look over, she's wearing a fond, and slightly proud, smile, though her attention shifts, fingers brushing through the hair of the blonde man beside her. "Zidane, hey," she states gently, doing her best to bring him around. "Fight's over. You won."

Re: Competition (Azure)

"Great..." Zidane groaned. "I just need some ice now... I think she broke something."

"Zidane needs a lot more than Ice. He handled the hardest part of this plan pretty well." Ragna stated simply, with his blade over his shoulder and off-hand casually resting in his pocket.

Zwei nodded in agreeance at that. "We must give thanks to the woman who came to us."

Ragna raised a brow at Zwei. "I thought we agreed that she wasn't going to take any credit?"

Zwei chuckled a little. "A scientific mind would clearly give credit to the one variable that changed that resulted in our success... That, and it seems Zidane is relying on her most of all." He stated with a playful remark to his feline comrade.

Zidane groaned, but made sure to reply even though he didn't really try to leave Azure's presence. "Shut up, Zwei...!"

"Too bad the ice from Marth's fight is already melted," she remarks off-handedly. "Are you all right?" She's not going to make Zidane move, but it's clear that if he did break something, they probably ought to know about it.

Her attention will shift to the other fighters. "Well, I can't, and won't, take complete credit, since you four did the hardest part, but I'm glad what we came up with worked. Now I guess it's a matter of seeing if that job Metal was boasting about was worth the aggravation." She grins. "Watching the group of you fight was pretty spectacular and I have to give Marth credit for his bluff. That was pretty clever."

Re: Competition (Azure)

Marth let out a happy hum from the praise he received. "Thank you... It was kind of an instant decision. I was in quite a fluster," he'd stated. And no wonder he was so flustered. He had a powerful and admittedly beautiful amazoness pressing herself around him with both torture and sexual advances.

Meanwhile, Zidane would nod. "She beat me senseless... And it downright feels like something should be broken... But she wasn't aiming to destroy me in any way." Zidane revealed. "All the same, if I move an inch, it hurts like hell..."

Past her compliments and care, Ragna was thinking ahead of their situation now as he regarded Azure with a gesture. "I can tell that you're not exactly thinking that this is as far as our meeting goes. I accept that you showing up turned things out for the better... But I personally still don't know anything about you. Frankly, this is as far as I'm going with you as our leader, until I know who I'm going to likely end up taking orders from."

Zwei didn't seem to side with or against Ragna's stance, but he nodded all the same as he folded his arms and looked up to the lamia. "I think it would be best if we all came to know each other."

Re: Competition (Azure)

"Well, I am glad it worked out for you. You pulled it off beautifully." As for Zidane, she lets out a soft chuckle. "See me complaining. Move when you're ready. I don't mind." She rest a careful hand on his shoulder, giving him a very light, reassuring pat.

Ragna's questioning of her at least gave Zidane time to rest up, since, again, she didn't seem inclined to make the nekomata move, though he might feel her shifting a little, getting comfortable and just subtle, unconscious movements while she's talking.

"A perfectly acceptable request," she tells the fighter. "Because you're not wrong." She'll inform them of Francis' suggestion that she come to meet the four of them, sort of back-tracking from there as to how she came to travel to the temple, both for Capri's research and for them to see about talking to a sea bishop. Like with Capri, she's honest with them. She'll tell them how she and Capri came to be together, leaving out some details, unless they, themselves, press her for them. From there, it's further back, a brief history of how she decided to strike out on her own, apart from her family, to try and make her own way in the world. If they have any other questions for her, she'll answer as best she can, not above giving Capri a chance to interject as well. Of the four of them, she's curious as to how they came to group together and what motivated them to try and help, even knowing the difficulties that they'd face.

Re: Competition (Azure)

The group listened attentively. They eventually seemed to grasp Azure's situation as she came to her conclusion. Marth seemed to understand most of all. "I've heard of a lamia tradition to send those who've become adults out to find a mate... But it seems like you've already found Mister Capri?" Marth directed to the man standing by Azure's side quietly. "Shouldn't you be returning home?"

"That means she's scouting us." Ragna followed up with Marth's line of thought, directing it in another direction. "Lamia can have more children when they have sex with more partners, or so I heard." he said flatly. "Exploring your options, Azure?" he inquired, though it didn't look like he was eager to be considered an 'option'.

"I guess it's true that many mamono have a sexuality that benefits from multiple partners..." Marth replied, blushing and scratching his nose, averting his gaze from Azure.

"Just what we need..." Zidane said sourly.

"I do not feel that her intentions are so simple," Zwei said calmly. "We are only in the better state of affairs we are in now because of her appearance. I will wait and see more of Azure's character before I decide my disposition."

"Yeah, well," Zidane looked away from Azure, before sitting up and escaping from her hand that was presumably still petting him. He had let that go on for a while before acting cold. "I don't have any interest in being in some snake's harem. I'd rather get married to... A vampire!" he announced.

"Is it because of the fangs?" Ragna asked. "Lamia have them too."

"N-NO! NOT THE FANGS! MONEY!" Zidane cursed, flustered. "Vampires are usually loaded!"

"So if Azure was rich, you'd let her bang you?" Ragna asked with a bored look, it was clear he was trying to get on Zidane's nerves.

"I could murder you in your sleep so easily..." Ragna was successful.

After the shenanigans between Ragna and Zidane and the possible reveal that Zidane was weak against having his neck nibbled upon, they began to talk of their own brief history. Zwei was a male born into an amazonian tribe and was naturally treated inferior. He was set to be married by age five, while his prospective wife was already a fully grown woman at the time. The amazonian to be his wife was abusive and cruel, putting him through cruel practices to make him strong while at the same time trying to keep his spirit down so he will be a useful and loyal husband. After many years, when Zwei was becoming a young adult, his future wife began to try and train him to please her as an adult. After getting used to the abuse prior, it seemed to begin all over again. So he naturally sought escape. When he was out of the camp with his future wife, he pushed her off of a small cliff, and ran off before she could recover and catch up to him. He eventually found his way to Undine's temple, where he met with the others.

Zidane was born from a wild werecat and an unknown father. She fed him until he was old enough to survive and then she vanished as they came to drift apart due to the decreasing need of her motherly supervision. He became somewhat wild himself, sneaking about near human settlements and stealing what he could. He eventually came to envy those who live in wealth, before a wealthy daughter of a Lord found him and took him in using food and luxury as bait. Zidane described her as a horrible and sadistic girl who dressed him up in various outfits, making him look like another animal of some kind, or even like a woman. She'd always grab his tail whenever he tried to flee from her surprise attacks, and worst of all... She gave him baths. Zidane had a phobia against large bodies of water ever since a rather scary kappa experience near a river, and a similar phobia against cucumbers, particularly if they're near his butt. He still wants to live the life of a comfy house cat, but wants nothing to do with taking a bath. During Zidane's story, Ragna made a joke about Zidane licking his own ass. Zidane would respond by throwing a rock at Ragna before stating that he still washes himself normally.

Marth was a simple boy born in a human city. He was sheltered his entire life and studied magic out of curiosity. His parents kicked him out of his home due to him coming of age and not leaving the house for years. So he wandered about and ended up in Undine's Temple where the other three men decided to adopt the homeless and confused mage.

Finally, there's Ragna. He described himself as a half-demon born from a human and a succubus, who was bitten by a vampire, a werewolf, cursed by anubis, blessed by a kitsune... Everyone else corrected that only the half-demon part was true. He would relent and tell the true story. His mother was a dullahan, which was rather odd growing up knowing that one's mother was unsure of where her head was located when giving birth. His birthmother would explain his talent with a blade, as Dullahan are reknowned elite swordswomen of Hell's army. His departure from his own mother would sound familiar to Azure, as his mother as well sent him to Gaea to find a suitable mate. The only condition was that she had to be even more powerful than his mother. So, he laid that out. "Zidane will let you do him for money, and I'll be too damned shocked to say no if you actually manage to bring my psycho mother down."

Marth would raise up a bit of confusion at how formally Ragna was going about addressing the conditions of any possible intimacies. "Just setting the boundaries so that they're clear. If our new snake friend wanted to try something but doesn't have the guts to do it, then I just saved us some trouble." Ragna declared. Marth simply went silent, Ragna's intentions seeming to slip right by what Marth wanted to understand.

"You should take Zidane into care," Zwei announced. "He is demanding, but please nurse him back to full strength. We will need him when we come to you with our first job."

Re: Competition (Azure)

Watching them interact, especially Ragna and Zidane, has the lamia chuckling behind a hand. She'll listen quietly as they speak of their lives before coming to the temple, making note in particular of Zidane's phobia and desires, the presence of other women in Zwei and Ragna's life, and Marth's naivete.

"Well," she states to clarify, "I won't say that my mother didn't encourage me to come back home with a mate, but that wasn't the whole reason I set out from the nest, so to speak. The idea to leave was my own. Mother saw the 'coming home with a husband' as a bonus, I think." She'll incline her head slightly in agreement with Marth's statements, not disputing his words. At Ragna's though, she's quiet a moment, regarding him with a faint upturn of her lips.

"I'm not looking to start a brood of my own. Not yet," she amends. "And your conditions aren't necessarily unreasonable." She's looking at Ragna in particular at that. "But I hope thoughts like that won't get in the way of us being companions, at the very least. I want to help, as I can. As for the rest, well, I suppose we'll have to see, won't we?"

Given that Zidane is up and moving of his own volition, she will, at the very least, accompany him to where he might get the care that he needs. If it's a simple matter of letting him rest, she'll steer back toward Frances' house, more with the intent now of getting a recommendation on where they might stay rather than putting the merrow out, since it's not just her and Capri any longer. If there's healing needed, she'll seek out somewhere comfortable for him to abide while finding a healer. As they're doing so, though, she'll gently pose the question to him, "So, as long as you're treated well, you've no qualms about being a housecat, Zidane, so to speak?"

Re: Competition (Azure)

(Inspirational song used - )

"I. Am. Not. A housecat." Zidane said sharply, looking rather stung that Azure called him as such. "How would you like to be called a... A pet snake, or something?" he inquired, hoping that Azure would feel equally stung from the looks of it.

"Be a good kitty and go stay with the nice snake for a while." Ragna told Zidane with an impish grin.

"Laugh it up!" Zidane replied. "Laugh while you can..." Zidane growled under his breathe, only Azure could hear him plotting his revenge on the half-demon.

With that, Ragna decided to finally stop horsing around as he looked to Azure with a straight face. "One way or another, we'll find out who you really are and what you're after. We've unfortunately got to rely on you to deal with all the issues of society that will get in our way. Fortunately, we can try to replace you if we don't like you." Ragna nodded.

"With who?" Zwei inquired.

"That's not important, Zwei." Ragna answered. "Anyway, caio, Azure." Ragna bid her farewell. "We stay at that dusty place you found us at, just don't come over during the night. Zwei sleeps in the nude." Ragna claimed, which earned a glance from Zwei. Regardless of what more Azure had to say, it would have to be brief, as the trio looked eager to return to their stone formation they happened to call a 'home' that would only barely pass for such by the more reclusive mamono.

Alone with Zidane, the cat would require aid walking, but wouldn't admit it as he kept silent. He didn't even look directly in Azure's direction. Of all four, he was putting up the most resistance against the idea of Azure becoming apart of their team. Though if what Ragna said about Zidane held any water, then a bribe seemed to be the icebreaker.

Re: Competition (Azure)

"That's supposed to deter me?" she quips as Ragna remarks about Zwei. It's clear, though, that she's not truly having any lascivious thoughts on the matter. "We'll see you later."

Not quite alone with him, as she has Capri there, which, if Zidane doesn't want to be seen being coddled by her, she'll quietly suggest to the other man that he offer a shoulder to the neko. Given, too, that she's not overly familiar with the temple, even after Francis' tour, she'll ask Zidane where they might find a healer for him. For a little bit, she's quiet, then she'll move to pace herself with Zidane.

"I'm sorry for," there's a pause, "misinterpreting your desires. It sounded to me as if you might want to eventually settle down somewhere nice, either a place of your own or with someone. Guess it was a poor choice of words. For now, let's just concentrate on getting you patched up, maybe some dinner, and we'll see what the healers say in regard to your condition. Heading back to your house tonight might not be good. Bedrolls aren't too good for bruised ribs."
