Re: Tentacle Souls

It completely didn't occur to me that you could try and carry Elene to the archcrystal and get both of you the hell out of here. We'll put that down as 3C.

For those wondering, Infesting a host is horribly unpleasant for them, but doesn't inflict any actual long-term damage.
Obviously any plan that involves having sex with Elene will carry a negative morality effect, for obvious reasons.

Full update in either 6/7 hours or 24, depending on IRL events.

Re: Tentacle Souls

Even if it's consensual?

Still changing my vote to 3C in case you missed it from a page back.

Once we get her into our harem maybe we can have sex with her and GAIN positive morality for it :D

Re: Tentacle Souls

Hmm...I dunno. Not sure that leading an army of silver...golem...things with freakin' LASER BEAMS FOR ARMS to the GATEWAY BETWEEN WORLDS is the best idea.

Orc-Corpse Toboggan? Gold. Solid gold.

EDIT: Actually, before I run the risk of being even more wrong, my assumption is that we aren't really, like, *jumping* off the side of a sheer cliff with nothing but an orc corpse to break our fall, but rather we'll be able to slide down the side of the mountain on the back of the orc's corpse, like...well, like an orc-corpse toboggan. Right?

If this assumption is incorrect, and we will, in fact, be hurling ourselves (and, by proxy, Elene) bodily into the cold, vast emptiness that is the side of this accursed mountain, leading almost inevitably to both our own and, more importantly, Elene's, deaths...well, orc-corpse toboggan rings a bit hollow, doesn't it? If this is in fact the case, rather than the infinitely more awesome toboggan scenario, then I change my vote to 3C.

Re: Tentacle Souls

Could we get word from the Creator whether or not that would cause problems?

Re: Tentacle Souls

I heard dash to the portal room and dump our injured girly there, and vote for that.

1 is far too badass to resist, regardless of the odds against it working

Re: Tentacle Souls

Well, we'll never find out what would have happened with Option 1, because too many people wussed out and went for Option 3. ;)

Option 3C it is!

----

A thought occurs to you; you don't have to carry Elene far, just far enough. The Archcrystal isn't too far outside this alcove - if you can there ahead of the robot men you'll be home free!
If.

Psyching yourself up, you dash out of the little circular room, knocking aside bits of crap and twisted bones on the floor and reaching the circular ice path of the cave. From behind you you hear the sound of metal footfalls echoing around the ice cavern - ominous indeed.
Still carrying Elene in your arms (her eyes are closed and her breathing ragged, but she's alive) you hurry as fast as you can down the path. You pass the wall of ice on your right, past where it lowers and fuses with the ground, opening up to the yawning black abyss. It's a tricky balancing act; running fast enough to get away, but not so fast you trip up and send both yourself and Elene down into that black oblivion.

It's in sight! You round the corner of the U shaped path, the Ice Orc's breath growing almost as strained as Elene's. You can feel his body starting to reject yours... no! Not now, not when you're so close!
His skeletal muscles shake, and you don't even see it happen - a beam of red light crosses the distance in a blink of the eye and buries itself in your right leg.

The silver men have made it out of the room, and the advance guard took a shot at your retreating back. Bastards.

Crippled, you drag yourself forward across the frozen floor on your hands and one leg - you can't feel anything of the right one. You drag Elene with you.

The silver men are silent as they approach, their black-headed leader flanked on each side by more plain guards. Their approach is implacable, remorseless and yet unhurried; each crunching step happens at exactly the same speed as the one before it.

"Come... on. Nearly... there..." you grunt to yourself - you're only meters away from the Archcrystal by this point, you can practically taste it!

Which is, of course, when your host finally gives up.

In a disgusting tidal wave of vomit you pass up and out his mouth, connecting tendrils ripping and tearing as you're yanked free. With a wet splash you're ejected onto the cold ground, breathing heavily in the frigid air.

The metal men pause for the briefest second, giving you their trademark empty look, then continue forward as before. They're rapidly approaching the turn of the U themselves...

Wrapping your tail end around Elene's arm, you drag her towards the Archcrystal, your twin purple heads straining to reach it. So close -

Behind you red lights are trained at your body -

- And contact!

You pass through the portal in a blur, gripping tightly to Elene, dragging her through behind you. With a soft bump you find yourself deposited back in the Dimensional Nexus.

"Oh, you cretin," utters the local disembodied voice. A miasma of red energy suddenly appears around the white Archcrystal, waving and shimmering.

"Do you have any idea what you've done? What plague you've unleashed? And you would've lead them straight here." It pauses, disapproval reverberating around the entire amphitheatre. "I've had to seal them off. But they won't stop - won't ever stop - looking for more people to convert. To make like them. God help those poor souls."

"On the other hand, your recent... altruistic tendencies have impressed me somewhat." You are suddenly filled with a profound sensation; something, somewhere, is looking at Elene. "So I have a present for you: two new Archcrystals. Please try not unleash any hordes of unstoppable warriors in these."

You look up, and see what the voice says is indeed true; two new Archcrystals stick out of the ground where before there was naught but dirt; one is a sort-of stony grey, the other a vivid, verdant green.

Choose any (feasible) combination of Options.

Option A) Go speak to Martha the mermaid about the Subtle Knife. Maybe she'll have learnt more about its powers.

Option B) Go speak to the Paladin and see if she has any reward for your delivery of the NeverMeltIce to this realm.

Option C) Spend some time tending to Elene and ensuring she recovers.

Option 1) Go through the Blue (water-realm) Archcrystal.

Option 2) Go through the Red (fire/lava/volcano realm) Archcrystal.

Option 3) Use the Stone-Grey (?) Archcrystal.

Option 4) Use the Vivid Green (?) Archcrystal.

Status:
Health: 37/80
Energy: 29/80
Morality: 10/100 (Saint-like)

Evolutions:
- Thunder Bolt I (Like Fire Bolt, Thunder element).
- Water Bolt I (...ditto).
- Ovipositor I (Allows you to lay eggs within the orifice of a host. At low levels, these eggs are weak and may not hatch properly. Further upgrades reduces this risk. Each egg costs 10 energy to plant, but the hatched tentacle is autonomous and commanded by you).
- Dread I (Releases pheromones that make organisms more afraid. The higher the level, the stronger the effect it has, and the better it works on people (lower levels are effective mostly against animals).
- Teleport I (allows you transport small, inanimate things back to the Dimensional Nexus, or wherever you set up a lair in the future. Further upgrades allow you to move bigger, and eventually alive things. NOTE: This spell will never be usable on yourself).
- Confusion I (Launch a magical blast that can disrupt the brain-waves of a foe. Useful against well-armored creatures that aren't very vulnerable to normal attacks).

- Firebolt II (Like Magic Sting II, but Fire Element).
- Scale Armor II (tougher scales, reduce damage taken).
- (Lust) Slime Ooze II (your slime induces lust in those that contact it).
- (Sleep) Slime Ooze II (you sleep makes those that touch it sleepy. Very... sleepy).
- Perception II (20 Energy. Use body language and other subtle, chemical clues to put together a general hint of what someone is feeling at any given time. Is that a molecule of sweat? They're nervous. Are their fingers tapping? Clearly impatient.)
- Aura Detect 2.55 (20 energy. Your sense of auras is refined, and you can see them from a great distance and judge their power levels more accurately. Also allows you to faintly detect Cursed auras).
- Stealth II (20 energy required. Become even sneakier).
- Swim II (20 energy required. Can you guess what this evolution does?)
- Body Shock II (20 Energy required. A powerful wave of magical energy runs over your skin. Akin to picking up a live electrical wire. Obviously limited to close-range combat, though).
- Tentacle Arts II (20 Energy required. Recover HP through sex).

- Infest III (30 Energy. Last almost indefinitely inside a host).
- Growth III (30 energy required. Grow to a chunky, 6-foot long python, complete with split heads.)
- Magic Shield III (30 energy cost. Lasts longer and tougher to break than Level II).
- Magic Sting III (30 Energy required. Costs 5 energy to use, but a direct hit will send most foes flying off their feet).

Agreed with Tenta. Only... Don't suppose we'd be able to get laid and rest till we get full HP as well?

Re: Tentacle Souls

Agree with the rest, for the most part, but how about getting Paladin-chick to help us out with Elene? Hell, maybe see if the succubus is around, get the two of them to help and maybe kinda sorta hate each other less (though the hate is probably entirely one-sided). Maybe she'll even tell us her name.

So:

C
B
A
4

And see about restoring health and energy.
