I was waiting for this game to be translated like a madman but i recently read that you wont release it here or somewhere for the "common" person to have access.
Is this real?

I'm not sure on that front yet. I got a semi translation from here that got me started so not releasing it would be a dick move in general but I also don't want it leaking on to H4D for legal reasons so I'm unsure at the moment.

Either way, keep an ear out. I'll probably work something out.

What I may just do is release the data files instead of the whole game, that way it requires people have the game itself, plus H4D tend to overlook just data files.

Again, for now I'm not sure just know that the actual translation is still going ahead.

Translating is frowned upon, sharing a translated game illegally even more so. I've already gotten in some light trouble with some other translations that I did.

Not only that, this game contains shota so it's against the forum rules to share it too, though I don't think that includes the data files so I may go that route seeing as there's no pictures in it or anything.

Monkeyman, why not create a blog like Dargoth and Rogue? Won't that be easier for you to share your progress plus files?

Plus, you can just post the data/patch files and tell folks to buy the game or get them from Google or something.

Simply, I don't want the attention :L This was a hobby for me and I'm not even sure I'm going to continue it after VI so there's no real point.

It's not even that, a lot of authors don't like their work getting a wider english audience because a lot of EU/American laws are strict about Hentai, it's the RapePlay argument all over again really.

Sorry if it sounds totally idiotic as a question, but what they can REALLY do if exemple author catch a 3rd party translator or things like that?

I thinking about money sentence, but when you think they are on the other side of the globe i wonder if they can really do THAT much...

More than you think. They can file a suit against you and if their country's officials think it's worth pursuing will get in contact with your country's officials. Afterwards, your country's officials will base your actions on your country's laws meaning if it's not a big deal in your country you'll just get an official C+D. But if your country's laws dictate that it's a serious offense...then yeah.

However, this is really bothersome and time consuming so most small circles and such will only give you an unofficial C+D and hope you have the respect to obey it. Dissing that either just make them close their community of which the game is spread or get a official C+D (which is international btw). Only big circles or actually companies will go as far as filing a suit. or they REALLY want to make an example out of ya.

So it's not really a matter of "what can they do?". It's a matter of "will they do it?".
