Re: Saki Quest (Out now!!!!)
I've found one walkthrough (for v1.04) for this by searching through this thread but some general advice on gameplay would be appreciated. I skipped the opening which means you start the game at level 1, but the monsters in the 1-star dungeon one-shot me, so I guess I need to level up in the tutorial area (which I think is the forest North of the town with the raccoons in?) a little first.
Only the raccoons seem to be able to defeat me in 2-3 hits too. I've found a slightly more powerful sword than the starting weapon in the shop near the house, and I've equipped the bangle from the same place, but I think I'm missing something here. How are you supposed to get started in this game?
Skipping or not skipping the intro doesn't make a difference.
the general way I did it was, go to your house (beside the shop) get the change of clothes from there, go to the Cafe (left of your house, it's surrounded with flowers) Work there, get 3000 gold, then go to the shop, buy crap loads of potions and the sword if you can afford it, if not farm the cafe by going to sleep in your house and working again. then go north to the woods, fight your way through, healing after every battle.
go as far as the boss but DON'T fight him yet, run back home (or use a crystal if you have one from the grey haired girl). At this point you should have a fair bit of gold and GP. Go to the shop, pick the second option, it lets you upgrade the stuff in the shop, if you don't have enough GP you have a choice, go and fight more, or loose and get raped, you get a fair bit more from loosing but obviously none of the XP which is pretty useful this early on. Anyway, fight up to the boss again, you should be about level 7 by now.
you can take on the boss now if you feel like it, just make sure you have loads of potions and a change of clothes, do your best not to get stripped in any fight before the boss, basically if you're gonna fight him avoid all the other enemies first. The best thing to do is use the skill that takes 10 health off you, I think you learn it from the janitor, or maybe you start with it. You'll know the one I mean, the animation is a vertical slash downwards.
After you beat this boss, use sorta the same tactic with the one star dungeon but it won't be as grindy this time cause you'll actually be a tiny bit over leveled for the common mobs at least
