I'll make a picture for you View attachment 12580, put "/x3 /v" in the box I've shown, then when saki quest starts, click the binoculars at the top of the chiitrans window, scroll down until you find the "MultiByteToWideChar" starts appearing, after that just move down them one by one until you find the one that matches the text on screen. It's USUALLY something like 0xXXXXXXXX:0000FDE9 but the numbers at the start are always different, it definately ends with FDE9 though

Re: Saki Quest (Out now!!!!)

I've found one walkthrough (for v1.04) for this by searching through this thread but some general advice on gameplay would be appreciated. I skipped the opening which means you start the game at level 1, but the monsters in the 1-star dungeon one-shot me, so I guess I need to level up in the tutorial area (which I think is the forest North of the town with the raccoons in?) a little first.

Only the raccoons seem to be able to defeat me in 2-3 hits too. I've found a slightly more powerful sword than the starting weapon in the shop near the house, and I've equipped the bangle from the same place, but I think I'm missing something here. How are you supposed to get started in this game?

Just like that, it's a bit grindy. But once you get going it doesn't take all that long.

Skipping or not skipping the intro doesn't make a difference.

the general way I did it was, go to your house (beside the shop) get the change of clothes from there, go to the Cafe (left of your house, it's surrounded with flowers) Work there, get 3000 gold, then go to the shop, buy crap loads of potions and the sword if you can afford it, if not farm the cafe by going to sleep in your house and working again. then go north to the woods, fight your way through, healing after every battle.

go as far as the boss but DON'T fight him yet, run back home (or use a crystal if you have one from the grey haired girl). At this point you should have a fair bit of gold and GP. Go to the shop, pick the second option, it lets you upgrade the stuff in the shop, if you don't have enough GP you have a choice, go and fight more, or loose and get raped, you get a fair bit more from loosing but obviously none of the XP which is pretty useful this early on. Anyway, fight up to the boss again, you should be about level 7 by now.

you can take on the boss now if you feel like it, just make sure you have loads of potions and a change of clothes, do your best not to get stripped in any fight before the boss, basically if you're gonna fight him avoid all the other enemies first. The best thing to do is use the skill that takes 10 health off you, I think you learn it from the janitor, or maybe you start with it. You'll know the one I mean, the animation is a vertical slash downwards.

After you beat this boss, use sorta the same tactic with the one star dungeon but it won't be as grindy this time cause you'll actually be a tiny bit over leveled for the common mobs at least

After one-shot KOed, your coach should appear and let you spend pts to unlock new skills too. Unless you want to remain virgin during the whole game but, it isn't fun at all. And potion is always your friends, go get 15 or more and you should be able to defeat the first boss in forrest.

Re: Saki Quest (Out now!!!!)

Ok, maybe someone can help me, I'm doing a run through of the game from scratch and I cannot for the life of me figure out how you get 2 CG's.

One is Saki in her normal "boss beaten" pose when Mikoto rescues her, but shes peeing.

The other is her normal boss pose again but Mikoto is lying beside her in her beaten pose too.

I have NO idea how to get them

Hmm,well i haven't got a clue about the peeing thing, but to get the CG with Mikoto laying down besides Saki, you need to be caught a few times by the monsters when Mikoto goes to save Saki(this worked for me in the forest area too)...

Really?! Huh, that's weird, I've gotten caught with her like 10 times in one go once and never got it, I was using it to exploit saki's lewdness stat.

As for the peeing one, I wonder if it has something to wdo with using the toilets in the game often, or maybe not even at all. Must investigate that at some point. Thanks though

Odd I've tried that a bunch of times and it never worked. But I was importing saves over between versions, so maybe there was a broken flag somewhere in my saves.

Yeah, well i started playing a game from scratch, just for that reason...namely event flags tend to mess up if you swap the saves around versions...
Anyway i'm positive that i've got that scene...or maybe i just fufilled the requirements for that scene on accident an got it,but i did get it all the same...

Well I started a new game from scratch and didn't get it, BUT I have a theory, maybe Mikoto needs to get captured in every single dungeon, I know I got her caught in the first few to boost Saki's lewd stat but not in the later ones.

Gonna try it later and see

Yeah maybe you're right...it may have something to do with Saki's lewdness influencing her...it will take us some time to figure out the requirements for this event, but hey it's part of the charm of playing RPG's...

Very true! though that said, I've played Saki to death recently :L

<strike>Edit: actually that's a point, would I just be able to look at the scripts some how? I have the actual editor for VX. </strike>

Never mind I'm an idiot. And on that note, I figured I'd announce it now. I'm working on a translation for Saki Quest.

I don't know why and honestly it may ruin the damn game in terms of loosing things in translation but I'll give it my best anyway.

though that said, if I do feel that translating it would kill people's love for it then I wont release it

Please translate it, I think people will be fine with it so long as it isn't made up of broken english.
Losing things in translation, but I doubt that would make the game terrible, the reason I look at these games anyway is for the gameplay.

Well it's going ok so far, most of the items and skills are finished at the moment.

The hardest part I'm having is with the ejaculation noises. they amount to little more than "Squirt. slick. squirt" and that's kind of a boner kill to read :L, I may just leave them for now and see if anyone has any better suggestions.

Edit: actually for anyone who's interested this is quite an interesting little adventure. There's 3 skills none of us have found "Bondage slave" "teachers Whore" and another one I can't remember. There's also reference to wearing a vibrator as a piece of clothing. Obviously things that were never used.

There's also a fair amount of code from the twins game left over too, not that that's too surprising but some of the speech is too.

Edit2: Progress report.

90% of menus and items translated.
112/893 common events translated.

It's not too bad, just tedious.

Edit 3: Considering I've been amking the same spelling mistake for the last 75 events, I can safely say that RPGMaker needs a search and replace function

Re: Saki Quest (Out now!!!!)

Well, I can't remember when and why I registered, but up to know I've just been observing this forum and used what others found without asking tedious questions, but just because of your announcement that you're translating:

Thank's a lot! This game is more or less one of the main reasons I'm reading this forum and while chiitranslate and the likes work fine, they're still tedious to use.
It's great that someone who understands enough is translating it properly.

About your fear of scaring people off with lost content:
No matter how much of it you drop during translation, it will still be way better than what any automatic translation can do. While it is a given that any translation will suffer, most of the time I saw translations between languages I KNOW the translators did a good job of fixing those holes as well.

You will do fine and anyone who doesn't like your translation should just fuck off, no one's forcing them to use it.

Thanks again.

Now to dissapear again...

Haha! Thanks for the encouragement. As it turns out I've actually had to ADD some things as some of the lines were basically japanese sayings and the like so I had to improvise based on the scene it was in.

It seems to be going well, I'll probably post a progress report tonight for anyone who's interested.

Thanks! :D

As promised, Saki Quest translation effort update.

Menu's and items - 90% . It's only 90 as some menu controls (the ap assignment for eg) are hidden in the scripts and I don't want to tinker JUST yet

Common events - 245/810 - 30% Oh good god.... I could swear it was more than that.... Thankfully most are actually code.

As another nice touch, I actually managed to get the text entry for picking names translated into English and it works well because of how the author
dealt with names, they're variables rather than set names. The only problem with this is the number of Japanese letters is much higher than the English ones. So there is plenty of blank spaces and if you pick one the game crashes, but I provided a warning so it should be ok. If needs be I'll just make them spaces or something.

One problem I noticed, and it's a small one but it bugs me. Is that the font has inexplicably changed from the original one. If anyone who knows
RPGMaker could help me change it back that would be great.
