"True, I guess I need to stop staring over my shoulder and expecting everyone to pull a Willow and stab me in the back" Helena's gaze lowers at the thought of Willow, but she soon presses it from her mind and starts the training in the morning, closing her eyes and seeking out the flame, determined not to think about her or that night in the swamp.

Her memories seem to haunt her, almost as if thinking of Willow had summoned her spirit from beyond worlds to haunt Helena, and her trance stays shallow and the flame distant.

Helena wipes a tear from her eye and tries to shove the thoughts from her mind, focusing on the task at hand and trying to command the flame into her presence. She had tried to make it right, literally gone to hell to fix it only to be wrenched out and thrown into this madhouse. She couldn't afford to dwell on it now.

The flame finally comes into focus, but it's weak and flickering, almost like it was the first time. Images of Willow haunt Helena's mind, especially the memory of seeing Willow's soul in the hand of the lady.

Willow's soul.... Staring at the flame, all of the pent up feelings she had been holding on to regarding her regrets about not being able to see it put back into her body, about being thrown here, now knowing that what she had done was real, first filled Helena with terrible grief and pain. The Flame, her power, her soul, her regrets, her wrong doing. All of this could have been fine if Only WHATEVER HAD BROUGHT HER HERE HAD LET HER FINISH! WHY!? WHY!!!

In the flash of a mere moment, all of that pain and grief turned into anger, pure and unmoderated hatred and rage, an all consuming fury, rage at being betrayed, rage at being unable to make things right, rage at being thrown here. Helena did not consider the consequences of letting such a dangerous emotion take her now in this state, she didn't care, the whole world could have burned down and she would still be filled with fury at being in the center of it all and never being told why...

If everything she had done was real, then Helena had gone to war, to hell, to space, killed, broken, consumed, and murdered and if all that was true then why shouldn't she be angry... She didn't want power to support anyone right now, right now she wanted the power to incinerate and obliterate anything that dared cross her path. The word Why! screamed through her mind over and over like the tolling of a massive bell, shaking her world with the force of the reverberations and making her shake visibly...

She stared at the flame as if through different eyes and it was no longer a mysterious force, only a weapon to bring an absolute end to whatever had brought her here, had wronged her friend and most trusted companion Jasmine. Whoever had dared interfere with her attempts to bring Willow back if only to right the wrong she had done and to utterly decimate anyone who got in the way of her vengeance which burned in her hotter then any flame ever could...

The image of Willow's soul fades from view, and the flame seems to burn hotter than before, taking on a shade of purple as it sucks in all of Helena's fury, inviting her to conjure up more.

It wanted her rage? it wanted her fury and her hatred? Fine! With her mind rolling through everything that had happened in a tirade, from the feeling of her forced transformation in the swamp, all the way to her vengeance taken from the vampire, she screamed it into the flame, wishing only that she had something to throw at it too. She was even angry at the flame for being as fickle and confusing as it was!

The flame grows steadily stronger, flickering between red and purple.

When Helena wakes from the trance, the rage still burns inside her weakly but steadily. Several hours seem to have passed, and Cindy is back on the cart, sitting near Helena. Jasmine seems to be meditating as well, though she opens her eyes soon after Helena, failing to conceal displeasure on her face.

Helena is shaking slightly when she comes out, and seeing Jasmine, it takes all of her self control to stop and think before acting. Taking several deep breaths and standing to stretch, Helena hops out of the wagon and walks for a while to calm down. Red had wanted her lust, Purple wanted her Anger... 7, she had a good guess as to what it meant now and she would have to be more careful...

It's not long until midday. The fields fill most of the surroundings now, only the occasional grove breaking the monotomy, and clouds fill the sky, promising rain soon. The wind is also picking up, promising a rather cold afternoon. Strike seems to have fallen behind, as she can no longer follow openly, lest she's spotted.

Helena raises her chin a little and enjoys the feel of the wind, imagining for the moment, the feeling of being in the air again. Taking the time to comfort Strike, the Spider's presence in her mind finally calms her down and she sees fit to rejoin the others in the wagon, looking forward to the rain.

Cindy is again reading a book, while Jasmine seems to be deep in thought. As the rain begins to fall gently, the wagons stop for lunch, but the drivers don't bother getting out, instead giving animals their fare and making sandwiches on their seats.

Cindy puts her book down, digging some sandwich making supplies for the three and quickly making half a dozen sandwiches, thick with meat and vegetables, though fairly bland despite her best efforts.

Helena thanks Cindy and eats her lunch without a word, watching the rain fall outside and thinking about nothing in particular, which was a nice change. Full and in a better mood, Helena leaned back against the wagon and let the sound of the rain relax her completely.

Jasmine eats reluctantly, even seeming to ignore Helena's comment. After eating, she leans back, her eyes looking far away. "Curiouser and curiouser. I remember a book about a girl who fell through a rabbit hole into an alien world. I've often wondered how she must have felt."

Jasmine turns her head to look at Helena. "Hey, cheer up. We've got food, shelter and money, we're headed to what passes for a city in these parts and we're safe, at the moment."

Helena left that snippet just between the two of them, putting on a brave face on the outside, her anger spent. "You're right of course, I'll be alright"

Sitting there in silence after, Helena thought of nothing in particular, simply hanging in that grey area between day dreaming and aware of the real world...

Jasmine moves to sit next to Cindy, who's reading again. For a moment Helena feels a strange tingling, but then it's gone, whatever it was.

Helena stays where she is, ignoring the feeling of just another symptom, wanting to train again, but knowing she was too drained at the moment, she would simply have to wait until nightfall proper.

Turning her head to look out at the rain again, Helena stood and hopped out of the wagon, walking in the rain and revelling in the cool feeling as the water struck her, closing her eyes for a moment and just enjoying it. It was one way to take a shower she supposed.
