Re: Kurovadis (OUT NOW! BUY IT)

I figured I'd make a hind-view of Kuro since a frontal view was posted. In-accuracies may be present.

And ... what, it's my first post and I can only post URLs after 15 posts or more! Size of the attachment wouldn't do it justice so this would have to do.

Looks pretty good. With the exception of the head (which looks a little small to me), you seem to have a better grasp of what the design should look like for it to make sense, haha. Especially the gun.

Well that certainly beat the system. I wanted to get the the sexy bits of drawing quickly so I sorta got the proportions wrong. The breasts are a little bigger than I wanted too.

We're all learning. I'm draw absolutely horrid-looking backgrounds. :(

While I'm not going to try to argue with you on how you think your character should look, contrary to what anime and manga show, the human head is actually smaller than the torso. Generally speaking, the average person's torso is "two heads" long.

Actually, I meant horizontally. I guess part of it has to do with the proportions of the head. Her features are pushed to the right a bit, so it gives the impression of having a slightly smaller face.

Perhaps. But Kurovadis is testament that Kyrieru's got that covered.

Hmm, I never saw it that way. Keeping this in mind.

Re: Kurovadis (OUT NOW! BUY IT)

~TheJester, for now you should work on proportions. One thigh is larger than the other and the forearms seem small. The cheeks should also be symmetrical. I don know your style so I'm not sure what may be intended. Nothing is missing so it's not a bad beginner drawing ^^ If you wanted to improve, you might try to remake a drawing you like or practice with a drawing book. Do you go straight into drawing our do you block out what should be where first? (mannequin/stick figure/shapes) I can make a wall of text of tips here, but its the wrong place to.

~Kyrieru, Would you perhaps like help with anything? I have interest in this and would like the experience pts. ^-^

Thanks for the advice, I really appreciate it. And I kinda just draw the basic stick figure and try to go off of that. I am a beginner, though. Practice makes perfect. Tips would be appreciated, though. ^^

I definitely understand what you're saying. Perhaps I'm suffering from a sort of biased bias, as I had long ago noticed I was comparing real human proportions to anime proportions and claiming that the real humans were unrealistic and perhaps now I am merely overcompensating on the realism, but upon further investigation, it is also entirely possible it is the angle. I doubt the artist drew it in 3d, but it's entirely possible that the angle (wanting to get ass, breasts and face involved while showing arms and long legs) could be to blame, but alas Occam may also disagree with me here as well.

Or perhaps I am overanalyzing...

Question:
I still don't have completed the game, but you know if there is a way to get any sort of "gallery" or save that allows you to get all the actions?

No. There isn't. Closest thing to that is saving a copy of a save-spot with enemies you like and replacing it when you want to revisit them.

Re: Kurovadis (OUT NOW! BUY IT)

Heard about this game not too long ago, and decided to check it out - seemed pretty fun at first: controls were tight, sound design was nice, enemies and locale were interesting, and it had that nice metroidvania feel to it.

However, I soon ran into a couple of outright game-breaking problems: namely, pressing enter to access the stats menu causes the game to simply lock-up. The same almost always happens whenever I grab the first power-up (the roll one), though in this instance said lock-up is accompanied by a rather nasty audio screeching.

Both of these require me to basically terminate the program via the task manager - I've tried redownloading the game several times, but it's been to no avail.

It's a disappointing situation, honestly, since the game is pretty cool from a purely 'metroidvania' standpoint, not to mention the other content.

I'm running this on windows 7, for the record. I've already tried running the game as both an administrator, and in a few compatibility modes.

This is pretty strange. I run the game for month under windows 7 without a single problem.
Latest version is V6, I assume that we are talking about a legit download.

Yes, it is a legitimate download.

However, the version I have is apparently 'V7', if the filename is anything to go by.

Oh Kyrieru warned me about this similar issue when I was attempting to make a pause function quite like Kurovadis, regarding of the function causing the crash. I think labcoax v0.2 would probably crash on you too.

You'd want to e-mail Kyrieru at [email protected]. He'll help ya out with your issue(s).

Here is a modded version that removes the problem.

Many thanks, Kyrieru - the fix is greatly appreciated. :)

This is an excellent game you've crafted here, and I'm eager to see what else you come up with in future.
