Grace never one for being subtle drew Karen in for a deep kiss that made Angel giggle at her mommies. Breaking away Grace looked deep into Karen's eyes. "Im glad I can still make you blush" She smiled and took Angel by the arm. "Lets go see the baby animals at the farm we passed Angel and let mama Karen have some time to herself." With that Grace and Angel headed off to a small farm they had passed on their way in Angel gleefully skipping along beside her other mommy.

"Okay. Angel, be careful and listen to Mommy Grace. Don't stray away. I just have some work to do here for a while." She lied, hoping Angel will not be suspicious of her motives, before Grace and Angel left the house. She would grab some sleeping rolls, their weapons, two lanterns, two walking sticks, two animal skins for sleeping, two pillows, some rope and other essentials that Angel may have grabbed from the store before returning home and packing up their backpacks for travel. When Angel and Grace would eventually return she would have their travelling packs hidden from Angel, before walking over to kiss Grace on the lips chastely before picking up, twirling and kissing Angel lovingly.

(Another short post, but just filling it up till more is happening. :| )

The packing and stowing of gear took a wee bit of time but it was soon done in short order and long before Grace and Angel made it back from the farm they had passed earlier. Everything was good to go Rope food weapons cloths sleeping rolls packed and ready. In away it felt good to be on the cusp of another journey but no that she had a family to protect and care for it also felt slightly nerve wracking. Still she and Grace would be as prepared as possible for their encounters and what may come and she hopped that they would be back long before harvest which was fast approaching. No doubt the people of Small Fruit would want to have her do the blessing this year as she did last year though she could do without Angel seeing the fertility ritual. Thankfully it would be some time before she was old enough to take part let alone know what was happening. So absorbed in her preparation and thoughts Karen failed to notice when a dusty Carriage pulled up to the Inn and a Stately pale woman with Blonde hair streaked with grey exited the coach. Walking briskly with the pace of a woman half her age the woman walked straight into the inn and looked around. She had a long blade on her hip and wore a slightly battered but well polished breastplate. Speaking with the Inn keep a moment she turned looked right at Karen and turned making her way for the battle sister. For a moment Karen thought that Grace had returned until she noticed the grey hair and pale but normal skin. The older woman had Grace's blue eyes and face or rather Grace had hers. It looked like her mother in law had arrived early.

Karen nodded solemnly at her gathered supplies, Sigh. It's been such a long time since this all started and since Ive traveled afoot. After we discovered Angel, we had just moved out and settled down. I dont regret any of it, but i fear we might have grown stagnant with all the peace weve had till now. I wonder if Grace feels the same? She thought to herself as took thw loaded bags, hefting one up over across her back. She didnt even hear the carraige pull up or anything, nor the woman come out to speak to the inn keeper until she started her way. "Oh! Grace, youre....back....early? Ah. Y-youre not Grace. I apologize M'lady. You must be her mother. I-We werent expecting you quite yet. Allow me to introdcue myself, I am Sister Karen Celeste. I... I'm Grace's life parter. And also Angel's biological mother. I know it all sounds horribly complicated and confusing. Please... Allow me to escort you back to our home. I will prepare you something to eat, and explain everything to you then. Grac and Angel should be back home from the farm the visited soon." She said as she took the elder woman by the hand leading her back to her small house outside of town.

Once they arrived, Karen pulled out small bread, some cakes and a glass of milk from the icebox(?), and laid them out in front of the elderly lady on te table. "Now... I suppose the best place to start is the beginning. Angel os not an entirely human child. While she is more human than her sisters, h is not entirely human either. She was 'concieved' for a lack of better words, in the sewers of Crolia. Grace and I were hunting some escaped, again for lack of a better word, slime women, in the sewers. Towards te end we found and defeate a massive slime. Once the slime was gone, we found several eggs. I couldnt bring myself to destroy them as they were mostly completely innocent beings. So I stood guard over them while Grace went to get help. It turned out they, like many things of this were based off of sexual contact. They had gotten me and Grace to lower our guards; and we.... well, made love of sorts. After several mutates women emerged from the eggs, and one of them was little Angel. We accepted her as our own and soon moved out here; as we were afraid of any prejudice she might recieve in the city....... Weve been here ever since... One day we will try to locate a Cult of Venus and make our relationship official. But for the time being we must resolve our current crisis...... Do you have any questions? I imagine you like to hear Grace's input and take on things as well. Her and Angel should be home shortly I imagine." she finised as she began to eat some herself and wait for her family's return and for the woman to have her say.

"Oh? Well met Sister Karen. I'am Lady Celina Grace Steel." She gave a slight bow. "You say your my daughters life partner and the mother of my dear Grandchild?" With the greetings aside Karen led Celina to her modest home and brought out some food for her to eat while they waited.

Lady Steel listened very intently to Karen's tale/confession. "I see" Celina looked at Karen letting her blue eyes wander over the Battle sister. After a few moments of silence the other woman smiled brightly at Karen. "Im glad that my dear girl has found someone that could tame her heart." The older woman put a hand on Karens in a comforting gesture. "For the longest time I wasn't sure my daughter would settle down with anyone. You must be very special for her to stay put for so long. It seems she was always off on some adventure when she was just a wee girl." Celina took a sip of the milk offered her and looked at Karen again. "I was surprised by Grace's letter especially after she mentioned she and you had a daughter. Given that a fever took her ability to have children when she was young I was sure I would never be a Grandmother." That news did surprise Karen after all Grace never mentioned her infertility before. "But enough of that tell me about you. I would know more about my soon to be daughter in-law."

"Grace is.... infertile? Is it from her..... changes, the demons gave her? Or is it a.... hereditary; or natural or genetic issue?......... I-I'm sorry..... I...I don't mean to pry..... It's just she's never discussed this with me before......" she paused after inquiring about Grace's condition letting it sink in a bit before continuing as Lady Celina wished, "Oh. Yes, Lady Steel.... You wished to know more about myself yes? Well..... I'm the daughter of Sister Adrianna "Ever Pure" DawnsGlory. She was a Badarian Warrior Priestess until her latent Spirit Powers awakened. She had to flee or face slavery or death due to the country's anti-feminist and anti-spirit wielder views. She made her way to the city surrounding the Academy in Crolia, where she determined to build and teach a school for future Battle Maidens her self; including my self. We lived there as she taught me the ancient texts of the many dieties in the world, but most of all the Star God. When I was about ten or twelve, my own power would begin to manifest themselves. When I hit fifteen, she taught me how to use firearms, and I practiced marksmanship and how to properly use my poeers. I graduated the Academy when I was twenty one. I met Grace praying to the gods in the chapel when the invaders struck three years ago. Together we helped drive the monsters off for a time. It was rather awkward at times between us at first, because of Grace's..... 'circumstances'. But we became close friends and shortly after Angel came into our lives, lovers. We had been living most contently and peaceful lives up until this recent situation. There really isnt much more to tell then that~" she said rather cheerfully before finishing and letting the Lady Steel have her say.

"A woman of faith that's good I approve but I see you have been touched by the demons as well?" Lady Steel inclined her head at Karens wings. "I was very distraught when I found out what had happened to my dear girl but for a long time she secluded herself away with that friend of hers. Thankfully the girl was much nicer than her parents after all her mother did have a questionable background. But Im not here to gossip or spread rumors. Tell me Karen what is Angel like?"

"Huh? Oh. These?" Karen said after seeing she was referring to her wings, "These.... actually came... from Grace. Not demons, heehee. And I am not so judgemental, to judge or look down on one simply due to..... "physical differences". As for Angel she is a very sweet, caring and firendly girl. H can be a little mischievous, but is overall a good girl. She is not entirely human. She has thin tendrils sprouting from her arms and her skin is starting to show to glow; due to the circumstances of her birth. If you law the law down, and. E firm but gentle with her, and let her know its for for her good and so on, you shouldnt have any trouble getting her to obey. Like most children she is fond of sweets, she has a taste for eggs, loves animals, and enjoys playing games. She also likes to play with dolls, and needs to be sent to bed early. She likes to be read to at night and may need a drink before going to sleep. I have no doubts you'll get along famously with her, Lady Celina. I am so glad that someone as open, caring, and trusteorthy like you will be around to watch over her while me and Grace deal with this problem." she says a big, bright grin stretching across her face.

"Well she already sounds better behaved than Grace." Lady Celina smiled at Karen. "You said she not entirely human? Is there anything I should be worried about because of that or anything she needs that would be special?" Nodding at Karen's answers they sat a moment before she spoke again. "Karen if you don't mind me asking what sort of trouble is after you and Grace?"

"Not that I know of, M'Lady. Her skin glows from the mutations of the slime, and the feelers are the only things I know of. She could develop more, as she ages; but at the time all she has different are the appendages and her skin has started to glow faintly. Other then that, she's a perfectly normal little girl~" She said smiling brightly before Lady Steele asked her about the troubles confronting Grace and her family, "As for what's troubling us..... What all did Grace write to you about in her letter? All I know for certain is, that the other night our home was harassed and attacked by some strange masked cultists. Also they seemed to be particularly interested in Angel, and tried to make off with our princess. It was through luck and determination we were able to stop them before they could make off with her. I am not certain what or who they worship or why they would be so interested in her. But we're determined to find out and put a stop to it." she said grimly and determinedly to her mother in law.

"The tried to take her! How horrable Grace told me very little. Im guessing she didn't want me to overreact and bring a small army with me." Lady Celina didn't look pleased but it was obviously directed at her daughter and not Karen. "Well its a good thing I came armed just in case." Celina patted her blade at the side of her hip. "I make sure to keep in practice you never know when you might need it. Now dear I must thank you for answering my questions and I can assure you that our little Angel will be safe with me and my house but if you have any concerns let me know and I will do my best to address them."

After asking her questions if any Karen and Lady Celina wouldn't have to wait much longer for Grace and Angel to make their reapperance and after tearful reunion and some catching up and of course some visiting time between Angel and her Grandmother they would all make their way to the inn once again can bid farewell to Angel and Lady Celina after a tearful goodby between Angel and her mothers.

"No.... Just make sure she eats healthy, takes baths, goes to bed reasonably early and that she doesn't stray out of sight, or at least not terribly far. She also likes to play games like hide and seek, when I had her hiding in the closet before the attack happened, she sprang out and yelled surprise. She is ultimately a rather well behaved little girl." she said before Grace and Angel arrived back home where Grace and her mother hugged tearfully and chatted a while, and Angel and Grandma played around a bit and talked. It all brought tears to her eyes, not just Grace and her mothers reunions, but seeing Angel with her Grandmother, and knowing that she and Grace would not be able to see their little Angel for quite some time till this mess was resolved and the people who had threatened them had payed. The foursome then went over to the inn to prepare for their quest and to send Angel off with her grandmother. As Angel began to cry and cling to Grace and her, Karen couldn't help but to break down in tears as well, "A-Angel sweetie, p-please d-don't cry b-baby! Y-your M-mama's love you v-very much, and would never think of giving you away! But it's just too dangerous now! Mama Grace and I have to find the bad men who tried to take you the other night and punish them! Y-you should be safe with Grandma! We will try to resolve this as quick as we can so we can come back to you, I promise! But for now, be good for Grandma. Listen to what she says and do not stray far from her. I.....I brought this to give you to take with you; so you can hold your Mamas with you." she says before giving her daughter a special doll she and Grace had made for her shortly after they had settled down in the town.

With that, she hugged her little Angel tightly in a near vice like grip, as she kissed her head and stroked her blonde and pink hair, before giving her to other mother to say goodbye before hopping onto the carriage with her grandmother for her long trip away, tears streaming down her eyes as she watched mother in law and daughter take off towards her home. After they were out of sight, she stand and straighten up, before wiping the tears from her eyes and strapping her pack to her and turning to Grace, "........... Let's go, Grace..... The sooner we find those bastards and make them pay, the sooner we will be able to see Angel again." Then, the two warrior women were off to try and locate the center of the cult who attacked her family and permanently put an end to their threat......

"I agree Karen and I think I might have a lead." Grace looked at her lover. "When I was disposing of the bodies I found a crude map on one of them and hired a guide to trace the path. He returned today thats why I went to the farm." Looking at Karen Grace's eyes watered. "I had debated doing this myself and having you and Angel go with my mother but I knew you would be against it. I hope you don't think me foolish."

"Excellent, Grace! It would take far too long and be too risky to go in this blind! I'm flad you were thinking a step ahead of me!" she said exuberantly, placing an encouraging and complimentary hand on her lovers shoulder. When Grace mentioned her thought of going without her, she gave her a shocked and almost hurt look, before seeing her eyes water. "No... I know you would only have wanted to keep me and Angel as safe as you possibly could. I am somewhat hurt that you would leave me behind and thought that you didnt want me along. Though I feel we will have much better chances of successfully ending this and returning to Angel if we did it together. Waht would have been foolish would have been actually doing this by yourself. But thank you for being honest and true with me Grace. You know you can always rely on me to aid in whatever rndeavor you embark on!" she said before pulling her lover into a deep embrace and kiss to let her know that there were no hard feelings between them and they were in on this together.

Grace returned the embrace and kiss before pulling away to show Karen a map. "The scout saw to entrances to this structure. It appears to be an old mine she said one was a partially collapsed tunnel in the woods while the other besides the air vents seemed to be the main entrance which was guarded heavily. Im thinking we use the second entrance the two of us should be able to sneak in there and clear what ever obstacles we may need to." Grace looked at Karen with determination and a little worry. "This could be a dead end but I think its worth a shot. Sadly the scout couldn't find any details about the inside of the mine so we will be blind once we enter. Also their was a town near the mine as well but it was abandoned or taken over so who knows how many cultist we will face."

"I agree, Grace. It probably woudnt go over very well if we tried to barnstorm through the main entrance, trying to push through the security. We will need to be on guard and ready; if they have overtaken the town near the mine. But the collapsed tunnel would likely be our best option for gettin in once we do." She said as she readied her and Graces packs and embarked on thier journey.

Hefting her pack Grace frowned as she pulled one of Angel's dollies from one of her packs pockets. "Nothing gets by her dose it?" Grace smiled and looked at Karen. "Looks like you got a passenger as well." Indeed Karen found another of Angel's dollies stuffed in one of her free pockets as well. "Hum these look like her two favorites. We better make sure they get back to her she would be really mad if we didn't bring them back." Placing the dolly back in her pocket Grace headed out the door and looked down the road at the carriage way in the distance. "You know if we plan on going on anymore adventures we should by a horse or two or at lest a pack horse. Well come on this way we got three days of hiking and sleeping on sticks and stones till we get to the mine."

Karen sighed wistfully as she and Grace pulled out Angels dollies from their packs, "I guess she wanted us to have something to remember her by as well. We ought to mail these to your mother so they can get back to Angel and be kept safe. We can do it after we head to the stables and get us a ride to our destination. It would in fact be wise to get some other way of transportation then our feet to get to the mine. I dont think we should have much difficulty getting one or two good steeds." she said as the two made their way to the stables. Once they arrived, Grace would inquire the owner the price for two good ridng horses or a strong reliable pack horse they could both travel on before paying the listed price and mounting up on their ride and heading out onthe carraige way to their next destination.

Grace approached the Stable Keeper and inquired a moment before turning back to Karen. "Uhh we may have a problem. I used all the money I had for repairs and such to the house and the horse's cost 50 denari each." Grace's face was flush with embarrassment but looked at her lover hoping she had an answer.

"Oh... I see... Uhm, excuse me kind sir~ Me and my lover are in need of two good strong pack horses for a long journey of great importance. But at the time we only have eighty denarii. Could we possibly get a tiny slight discount on one?~ Just this once?~ We would be eternally grateful, and even reccomend you to our friends~ C'mon what do you say, pleeeeease?~" she pleaded sweetly to the stable keeper even pulling her top down a little to flash the man a little cleavage to sweeten the deal and further persuade him.
