Mary is glad that she's finally hitting (somewhat). At least she's useful now, she thinks as she aims another blast, hoping to finish off the smaller one.

Mary's bursts of magical energy both sail past the tentacle monster, but Ai manages to slash it nearly in two, and it falls down dead.

16 vs. 8

The other tentacles try to avenge their fallen comrade, slapping Ai and slathering her with a strange slime that started to cause her to get more aroused.

Gaining some relief as her strike fatally tears through the tentacle monster, Ai returns her attack a bit too slowly and gets slapped and slimed for her mistake. As the slime seeps through her clothes, Ai's arousal comes forth a bit. Shrugging it away, she takes her stance to attack the remaining monster

Mary looks at Ai, hoping she'll be alright as she aimed her next blast at the tentacle beast. Hopefully it would hit.

Ai and Mary both hurt the tentacles, who seem to stagger back away from them.

3 vs. 19, Counter!

The tentacles suddenly lash out at Ai, but she easily cuts them before they get to her.

"It's looking good, let's keep this up!" Mary shouts as encouragement to Ai as she fires two magical blasts, using up the last of her mana for this fight.

"That went much better, didn't get lashed at all" Ai thinks as she recovers from the attack and riposte she just pulled off. Nodding back at Mary's encouragement, she settles in her stance to attack once more

Mary's first blast hits the tentacle beast, but her second sails past it, and it deftly avoids Ai's slash.

It then manages to slap Ai again, and she begins to feel more than a little tired.

Punished for her failure, Ai is beginning to tire from the constant lashes. But there was fight in her yet, so she swings for the tentacles once more

Mary sighed. She was starting to miss again. She was going to get annoyed quick at that, aiming another blast, hoping it would distract the beast long enough for Ai to get off an attack...though Ai was looking pretty tired.

Mary and Ai both miss; maybe the tentacle monster just needed to be slapped around a bit before it got up to speed.

Or maybe not, as Ai was able to dodge its next blow.

Mary missed once again, but Ai slashed a large number of tentacles off the thing.

The tentacle took vengeance with a firm slap to her chest and stomach. She was almost exhausted now.

After a round of missed attacks, Ai manages to score a hit. Her joy is cut short as she gets slapped across the torso before she can return to her stance. Barely holding herself together, she tries to attacks to her best ability

"Ah, be careful Ai!" Mary's voice shows concern for her friend, hopefully they could beat these tentacles before anything too bad happened. She focused her magic and shot another blast.

Mary and Ai miss again, and Mary's errant blasts seem to be damaging the walls of the spire by this point.

Ai manages to easily slap aside the tentacle that whips at her with her polearm.

Mary and Ai's missing is starting to become a troubling pattern.

Mary finally manages to land a hit on the beast; it looks nearly dead. As Ai runs in for the kill, though, it strikes her in the back, knocking her to the floor. She finds that she's too tired to get up.

The tentacles then turn their attention to Mary, slapping at her shoulders.

The exhaustion clearly getting to her, Ai is unable to connect with a multitude of her attacks. Then she makes a bad mistake, getting a lash across her back and falling to the ground, her strenght finally leaving her.
"Mary.. take care of it..." she thinks as she lies on her side, looking at the ongoing combat between her friend and a tentacled beast, too tired to make a move

Mary misses with her blast, which impacts the wall and causes the room to shake a little. More misses might become dangerous.

16 vs. 20

The tentacle beast also misses; Mary is much less tired than it is, and is able to easily jump out of the way.

14 vs. 11

Mary finally manages to land a hit on the monster, causing it to quite nearly explode. There is only one pathway out of the room besides the stairwell; a narrow corridor to the west.

Relieved to see Mary blow destroy the creature, Ai takes a few moments to gather herself before getting up.
"So, where should we go?"

Mary was quite afraid as her blasts seemed to weaken the walls, so it was no surprise at how relieved she was when she finished the beast off, meaning she didn't need to worry about the consequences.

She goes over to help Ai. Looking around, she decides on a path at random, letting Ai lead.
