Re: Tentacle-tan and the Wisp's Cure

Well I don't really consider myself in charge. As far as I'm concerned Neko's doing most of the work all I really did is put out some ideas. As for confidence yeah I've never had much of that... In really anything I've done... Ever...

As far as I'm aware Neko is doing all the work himself... Which I am incredibly thankful for. He's awesome... I hope he doesn't feel taken advantage of or anything though...

Lastly those are pretty well done. Specifically the first one.

Also really all I am good for is giving ideas... I have no other relevant skills...

It's a lot of responsibility when Neko has to make the engine from scratch and all the sprites, textures, objects effects etc...
Yep yep, if it has to be a small team then I think a team of 4 is essential:

-designer (game mechanics, level design, writing)
-artist (concept design, animation, art assets)
-programmer
-sound designer (music, sound effects)

[CAPSLOCK] THERE'S NO SUCH POSITION AS "THE IDEA PERSON" IN THE VIDEO GAME INDUSTRY! [/CAPSLOCK]

With that said, even the janitor or receptionist in a well known game studio has an idea for a game. Also self defeating attitudes break teams apart and the person. ;)

Re: Tentacle-tan and the Wisp's Cure

Well I guess if I'm the designer... Neko is artist and probably programmer not really sure about sounds... Two more people join one for sound and one for whichever of programmer or artist Neko might not want to do and that's a 4 person team assuming Neko doesn't want to do both... It's an interesting idea and probably would be better... Than having neko do everything... Will have to wait for Neko's thoughts...

That's a bit of a mixed message there innit... "You shouldn't have a defeatist attitude" immediately following "The only thing you contribute is worthless"

He's saying GTFO, but do it with pride in yourself. Or at least, that's what the little man on my shoulder is telling me to write.

Re: Tentacle-tan and the Wisp's Cure

I can play keyboard and drums but i need to find a good audio editing program
so far i've been useing "avil studio" but it's only for midi quality sounds. I also tried "Magix music maker" but it won't recognize my keyboard for some reason and when it does the keyboard effects won't work and i tried vst instruments.

So if somebody knows an audio program that can record high quality sound without a sound card let me know. I don't want to have to buy a sound card:(

On another note, don't bash the poor girl nookie at least she's not entirely useless and can't make ideas up.Give them time they'll sort things out and eventually something will be made few or many will enjoy it, hit or no hit they've accomplished something and should be proud of it(even if they just get a small demo out).

Of course there is such a thing as the Idea Man. Otherwise all the ideas would all mesh together into an unintelligible soup. Don't put down AngelKara's work! If it wasn't for Kara, this whole game wouldn't EXIST. No pushing Kara out of the team.

Agreed. it's like stealing someones invention, pissing in their face and stealing their wallet, shit don't go down right with me.

Angel Kara's the boss of the project and she should have a voice and power over the project but at the same time be open too interpretation and ideas, criticism.

It's a game only if it's playable.

Coming up with ideas, writing the story, making the art, making the animations, making the special effects, making the music, and creating the code is not a game. :)

*sigh* Listen. Yes. It is only a game if it's playable. But guess what? If you add together all those things you listed off, you have a game. You DID learn addition, didn't you?

Listen. This game is being made. It was being made before you came in and started doodling everyone else's characters. It's not gonna suddenly, inexplicably cease to exist just because you say ideas are useless when creating a game. How many games have you made lately?

tl;dr version: BRAINS OR GTFO!

This will be the last time I'll be talking or even associating with you. So pay fuckin' attention.

It's only a game if it's playable. Period. Tell me how is creating animation a game. It's not a game...it's work!

Ideas are cheap so I don't give a shit if it's "STOLEN"; so if I do have ideas for a game, feel free to steal it; guess what though, you stole a small part of the overall game concept and probably you don't have the skills to execute those ideas.

Just because I'm doodling everyone's characters, I don't claim them as my own. So you got it fuckin' wrong. Piss off, seriously.

One last thing, if you don't have anything to contribute other than praise and encouragement, then shut the fuck up if some people give a constructive bashing or some helping aid. Also you have no plans on actually helping so please move out the way. I don't know if you care but I'll say it anyway, I took a game design and development class at my university. Stop being a punk.

Thanks for listening and reading carefully....I hope. :p

Re: Tentacle-tan and the Wisp's Cure

guess who is about to pass out to sleep.

first, with the origional idea that Kara made, i was to do them all. I have to admit that i have now awesome skills at most of these tasks i will have to do. and honstely, some of this stuff i never did before, but i am drivin to learn and improve.

im also glad that there are several artist showing their work. this (aside from adding jealuosy) pushes me to do better.

and with breaking apart this game and allowing others to do some and then coming togeather, idk how that would work at this moment, since this is the very beginning. I am making the character, forming sprites after, all while learning game maker so the game can run smoothly.

and i am not building the game from scratch. game maker is a game making system for ppl who don't know the language. i have an awesome partner in crime ( rydin32 ) who is helping me decifer the program (basically helping me understand it.

lastly, i feel like Kara is the game designer. im just a worker. this is kara's idea and its very developed and discriptive. my job is to make it come to be. if your willing to help, hop on aboard the awesome train, with Kara as the conducter (sounds cheezy but dont give a fuck. tired and 3/4 sleep anyway.... bed)

edit: HOT DAMN WHAT JUST HAPPENED. WHEN DID PPL START ARGUING?.... No fighting in the office.

will push to have this char done by tues.... if not then wed. and i will...(sigh) try to draw her naked. never done this b4. hope i dont' embarass myself

And nothing is a waste and nothing is not worth dooing. this is a learning experience for everyone and i do aim to become a game designer in the future. this is my first step in learning. But your right, this is work, but is work that i chose to do and i am to stay commited to it. and agin i thankthe artists who drew pics of tina / which is giving me direction.

Yay! Hate! Let's see here.

It's only a game if it's playable. Period. Tell me how is creating animation a game. It's not a game...it's work!
Tell that to Toon Facials and Meet N Fuck.

Ideas are cheap so I don't give a shit if it's "STOLEN"; so if I do have ideas for a game, feel free to steal it; guess what though, you stole a small part of the overall game concept and probably you don't have the skills to execute those ideas.
When did I say these ideas were stolen? I realize ideas don't mean a lot in the long run, but without an idea, there would be no start to creating a project.

Just because I'm doodling everyone's characters, I don't claim them as my own. So you got it fuckin' wrong. Piss off, seriously.
Never said you claimed them as your own. I'm just saying that you and I have contributed about the same amount. You drew pictures. I gave praise and, oh yeah, IDEAS for the game. Gasp. So technically, I've contributed MORE than you...

One last thing, if you don't have anything to contribute other than praise and encouragement, then shut the fuck up if some people give a constructive bashing or some helping aid. Also you have no plans on actually helping so please move out the way.
See above point.

I don't know if you care but I'll say it anyway, I took a game design and development class at my university. Stop being a punk.
Ooh, you're a professional? Then why isn't the game developed already?

Thanks for listening and reading carefully....I hope. :p
Oh, I read VERY carefully. You're such a well of information. Thank you kindly.

EDIT: Oh, and Neko? Choo-choo.

Yeah, I'm up to help you out and anyone else in this broad. I'm also helping ker out on sprite work. I'm slowly making progress since I got sidetracked with other things. Because making this game is a learning experience then this is a good opportunity for me to work in a team that is also learning and to prove what I can do.

I did some tinkering in gamemaker 8 and it's a pretty easy program to pick up and create the basic functionalities for a game. Right now I want to help someone make their vision for a game come to life and this way I can have credibility when I do come up with ideas for a game.

So give a thumbs up if you want me in the team. I want to be responsible for the art. I haven't done much animation, but I'll try.

I don't know if you would like to be focused on the programming side of this game, but if you don't mind then it would be best if you can start out with placeholder graphics and start making the code for the game. :)
