Re: Touhou CYOA - Second edition

(Suddenly, votestorm)

Her curiousity leading her again, Byakuren opens the door.
"I need to make her snap out off it, if that is indeed Keine" she thinks, approaching the maniacally cackling girl, who is still tearing into the now-dead man's bloodied remains.

"Keine? Is that you?" Byakuren ask gently as she places her hand on the girl's shoulder. The beast stops tearing into the corpse for a quick moment, before lashing out with a clawed hand. Taking a small jump backwards, Byakuren finds herself face-to-face with the girl as she gets off the dead person with a quick move. In the moonlight, this girl is a terror to behold, with her frontside covered in blood and eyes glowing with a faint red light. Byakuren's calming attempts fail with the beastly girl, as she ignores any words and attempts to swipe and flail at Byakuren with her claws and occasionally with the horns as well.

Byakuren keeps her distance, barely managing to evade the shockingly fast girl. But she forgets to keep check of her surroundings, accidentally backing into the door. Startled for a brief moment, Byakuren drops her guard and the girl takes the opportunity. She charges forward, leaping onto Byakuren and taking her through the door with a loud crash. Now finding herself pinned on the floor, Byakuren can hear the girl on top of her speak in a guttural voice.
"OOOH, A BEAUTY! LET'S HAVE SOME FUN!" Not sure about what this beast thinks is "fun", Byakuren starts to consider her options

A. Give up

B. Fight back

C. Reach for that summoning token to call Komachi

Because, let's face it, it's the logical thing to do.

This marks the first shot of ZUN Slayer we're drinking. Twenty one shots total.

Re: Touhou CYOA - Second edition

"She'll kill me if I don't fight her off" the words float around in Byakuren's mind. She tries to strike at the beast leering over her, but that has a similar effect as hitting a wall would have. The girl lets Byakuren hit her a few times, laughing all the way
"YOU THINK THAT'S GOING TO HELP YOU?!" she says, raising her other hand. Byakuren can just barely tilt her head to avoid the powerful claw strike launched at her. The blow has enough force behind it to break the floorboards next to her, so Byakuren redoubles her effort to get free. The other hand soon follows, but Byakuren is able to stop the blow by catching it with her own arms. Frantically fighting to keep the claws off her, Byakuren can see the girl twitch her other hand, now free from the floorboards
"ENOUGH GAMES, DIE WENCH!!" the girl yells as she readies herself for a killing stroke. As the claw descends, Byakuren can see her life flash in her eyes
"This is it...."

Before the claw reaches her, the girl is suddenly pulled off Byakuren. A familiar mass of white hair can be seen as the beastly girl is tossed out of the door.
"C'mon Keine. I come to see you during this beautiful night, and now I have to spend most of it fighting you? Not fun." the newcomer says, sighing after she does so
"Mokou, thank you... So it really is Keine.." Byakuren thinks, still trying to gather her wits from the near-death experience she just got through. Rising to a sitting position, she can see Mokou face off with the beasty Keine.

The white-haired girl doesn't look like she's afraid of the bloodthirsty version of her friend. Suddenly, an aura of fire starts to build up around Mokou. As it intensifies, a pair of flaming wings sprout from her back.
"Well, let's get this started with then." she says to her beastly opponent. Before they can attack each other though, Keine suddenly flashes for a quick moment, returning to her normal scholarly self. She drops to her knees, realizing what just occurred. Upon seeing this, Mokou's flames die off as quickly as they came into being

The three of them retreat into Keine's house, where she explains that those men where ones trying to make her leave, or kill her if she didn't
"The humans don't have much tolerance for youkai around here. Some of them know about my state, and wish me gone. Yet, all I want is to be able to protect and educate them. I just don't know what to do at times.." she tells them, keeping her gaze down. Mokou grabs the teacher in her embrace
"It'll work out Keine. And if you leave this place, you're welcome to live with me. We'll help them together, like I always do"

In the morning, Byakuren finds Keine still home. The teacher approaches her with an apology and a gift
"I've found this wonderous scroll from an ancient library, before it got destroyed in a fire. It's supposed to be a spellcasting aid, but I'm no magician myself. Maybe you can find it useful in your journey"
After a breakfast and some final conversation, Byakuren leaves Keine's house behind and heads towards the mountain once again

After a day of travel, Byakuren reaches the foot of the mountain. Coming across an run-down shrine, she considers the place to be good enough to spend the night. As she comes to the shrine's front door, an old donation box catches her eye. She wasn't sure if the shrine was in use anymore, but it was a custom to offer donations to the shrines

A. Leave a donation

B. Ignore the box and go inside

A donation a day keeps the Miko at bay.

A

Because, let's face it, it's fun to give poor mikos cardiac conditions.

Second shot of the second round. I'm not even sure what to write anymore.

Re: Touhou CYOA - Second edition

The shrine was one belonging to shintoist people and Byakuren was a buddhist monk herself, but she bore no grudge against other people's religion. She takes a few coins and drops them into the box, before she grabs the shrine rope and gives it a hearty shake to ring the bell. Holding her hands together, Byakuren closes her eyes and takes a moment to give the shrine gods a few prayers, whatever they were.

Done with her prayers, Byakuren is surprised to see an average-looking girl dressed in shrine maiden clothing intensely staring at her from the other side of the box
"When did she get there?" Byakuren thinks as the miko gets even closer to her.
"Did you just leave a donation? DID YOU?" the miko asks her, still staring at her hard. Byakuren nods, which causes the miko lighten up
"I can't believe it. It's been so long since someone donated. Want to stay overnight at the shrine? It's safer here, when you compare to the nearby wilderness"
Slightly put off by this eager shrine maiden, Byakuren still accepts her offer, seeing it the better option.

The two exchange stories and introductions over tea and rice balls. This average-looking girl is actually Reimu Hakurei, whom Byakuren has heard a few stories about. She's solved some major incidents around Gensokyo, and fought some of the most powerful beings around. Byakuren looks upon the girl with newfound respect, wondering how hard all this work must be for her. With these thoughts swirling in her mind, Byakuren and Reimu set up futons to sleep in

In the darkness of night, Byakuren suddenly finds herself unable to sleep. Sitting up on her futon to think, she looks over to the sleeping miko on the futon next to her. Somehow, she finds the cute young girl's sleeping figure irresistable.
"I wonder if she's into this..."

A. Make a move on Reimu

B. Try to gather your thoughts and sleep

C. Go have some fresh air in the backyard
