Re: Chapter 2 - The Calm Before the Storm

"In my experience shooting the man isn't the problem, it's living with shooting the man that's the problem. I have no problem with the others coming even if they haven't been in so much as a slap fight in their life. Better they learn how to defend themselves at some point because I highly doubt the Sabbat believe in noncombatants. I can show either Izzy or Eve how to at least shoot a handgun if that's needed as well." Ronny says adding his two cents in. "Or we can just go check into this fresh lick that Izzy stumbled across. Though that might be easier to do after taking care of this warehouse first."

Noticing that the other kindred's conversations have died down and that they are all starting to stand Ronny says. "Good looks like we may not have much longer to wait for a chance to get out of here."

Re: Chapter 2 - The Calm Before the Storm

"Hell, I'll be honest, I don't know if I could do it," Izzy admits. "Feeding off of someone is one thing, but actually putting them down is a whole different story. If you want to teach me to shoot so I can protect myself, any of you guys, or slow any of the bastards down, thenthat I can probably do, but, crazy or not, just taking them out in cold blood, so to speak, I'd hesitate and that is not what we need right now." She spreads her hands out in a "there you have it" gesture. "Though it looks like we can pick this discussion up after business." She puts her attention on the other Kindred, waiting, it seems, for the Prince to finally make his presence known.

((Can't answer for Raven on that one.))

Re: Chapter 2 - The Calm Before the Storm

Ronny smiles, "Well that's what I meant by show you how to shoot, I wouldn't want you to get hurt because you can't at least protect yourself."

As Ronny starts to turn away though Raven hisses towards Ronny, "Téigh transa ort féin."

Ronny gets a surprised look on his face for a second before turning back to wait for the Prince to finally make his appearance. At least I finally got him to say something to me, just wish I knew what it meant.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

The Prince hurries into the room, just barely giving the gathered kindred time to finish standing. A hint of weariness mars his otherwise normal appearance. Once he makes his way to the podium however he gives the gathered kindred a warm smile before addressing them in his normally authoritative voice.

"Please be seated, my fellow kindred. Forgive my delay but I've been meeting with a visiting emissary from the court of his Grace Prince Gideon of Calgary."

As he says this a tall hawk-nosed man dressed in an impeccable business suit enters from the back accompanied by Jack. Also entering at this point of time is Vincent from the front entrance. The visiting emissary steps forward and standing before the Prince bows before addressing him in a gracious tone.

"My humblest apologies for burdening your court with the news I bring your Grace. My sire, Prince Gideon, sends his warmest wishes to you and your court, but it is imperative that we react immediately to this latest development. I have come to beg for aid in our domain which has practically fallen to the nightly war waged on us by the dreaded Sabbat."

The Prince smiles down at the emissary and addresses him in a warm tone.

"It is good to have you in my fair city once again, Heidrich. You have been away for far to long."

Re: Chapter 2 - The Calm Before the Storm

((Wow. Gotta love a protective Sire. And Google.))

"If all else fails, can always hit them with the damn thing," she mutters, mostly because, well, it's time to be quiet.

Settling down after the Prince's okay, she studies the newcomer and then worries her lip some at his words. Maybe they're trying to do here what's happening in Calgary. Wouldn't be surprised if they were.

As he mentions asking for aid, her gaze slides over, first in River's direction, then Claire's, and then back to Heidrich. Of course, anyone going to help out in Calgary would be one less here. Very dicey game, putting them on a two-front war that'd have to split forces where the Sabbat, apparently, had the advantage of numbers. At least this wasn't going to be that mundane of a meeting tonight.

River glares at Ronny for a few seconds longer after his response before answering herself. "Good enough for me." She says simply, then stays quiet until the Prince's arrival. She seems worried at the mention of helping Calgary out, but again, stays quiet for the time being.

Eve settles back to watch the proceedings around her, noting the tone and posture change of the Prince, and River's expression change at the mention of Calgary. This is her element, she keeps the smug smile off her face though

Fletch pretty much already stands, so he simply waits for the Prince to settle down before finding himself a seat. The news from Calgary do bother him, but then again they can't be sent there, right? The Camarilla must have more experienced people than Fletch and his coterie.

Re: Chapter 2 - The Calm Before the Storm

Claire watched the Prince's expression, as he came out and delivered his news, and frowned as she heard about the aid for Calgary. Her eyes scanned the crowd and there seemed to be worry amongst the others, but no one was saying anything.

So Claire did something stupid; she stood up, on top of her chair so that she could be seen by both Heidrich and the Prince.

"My Prince, and honoured emissary and guest of our city," Claire began, attempting to find good words for this kind of conversation, adding in a bow for good measure.

"I must say that, while the defense of Calgary is important, we are not so many here in Red Deer, and our own streets are teeming with the enemy as well. They're feeding in the open, with little or no concern about the masquerade. Never mind the many newly embraced now running around, without permission. My lords," Claire said, loud enough to be heard clearly by both Prince Ken and Heidrich.

Standing her ground, she didn't display the nervousness that was running through her mind.

Eve almost laughs, but stands and adds her voice to Claire's, though she can't be seen as well as the other woman. "My Lords, she is right. They are roaming the city in packs, taking and embracing the Kine as they wish." She holds her head high, and proud, almost... defiant, but not quite and subtly flicks her fingertips, urging the rest of the coterie to stand with them. This is what we are, a pack of sorts. She deserves the support. We should all stand beside her. Show them that the clans can be friends.

What the fuck? Why do they have to cause a show like this... Fletch sees Eve's twitching fingers and quietly asks himself if she needs some blood before it sinks in. The large man navigates through the crowd and stands besides them quietly, arms folded and chin raised.

As Eve stood and began to support Claire's statements, the Gangrel looked down at the other woman with a raised eyebrow. This was not what she had expected at all.

Eve gives a small, barely there smile, and whispers softly. "We're a coterie aren't we? Can't forget the blood sucking Brady Bunch."

Re: Chapter 2 - The Calm Before the Storm

((I'm surprised google worked, my Irish isn't really that good and I figured it was horribly mangled.))

Raven still hasn't taken his eyes off Ronny since the first comment, though he is still paying enough attention to raise an eyebrow at what's being said about Calgary. He hasn't moved from his spot by Izzy's side near the rest of the coterie and he doesn't make a move to leave them when the others start to pull together, though he seems to be more interested in what Ronny's going to do.

As Claire stands on her chair to speak out, almost every single head in the place turns to stare at her. The Prince's expression doesn't change as he listens to what she says, even when the others gather around her in a show of unity. Though Heidrich gets an incredibly annoyed look on his face as he turns to stare at them.

Ronny who up to this point had been paying little attention to what was being said, instead he was watching how the older kindred were acting. he hadn't even noticed it was Claire and Eve speaking till he saw everyone's head turn towards them. Great blood sucking family garbage again. I wanted to see what was happening you god-damned idiots. Now I have to wait till they start again, thanks. He doesn't move from his spot nor does he leave instead he just watches to see what happens, with an annoyed look on his face.

Re: Chapter 2 - The Calm Before the Storm

((Worked well enough to give me a translation. That's all that counts *laughs*))

Izzy blinks as Claire steps onto her chair, her attention moving from the two 'statesmen' to the Gangrel. Valid point. One he's probably aware of, but it never hurts to drive the point home. Splitting things up here would probably be a bad idea. Not that she wanted anything to happen to Calgary, either, but again, it was the two-front thing.

And that's what's forefront in her mind as she huffs out a soft breath and pushes herself to her feet as well. "They have a point," she adds, her voice steady, pitched enough to be heard but not shouting. "The decision is, ultimately, your choice, our Prince," she spreads her hands a little in the direction of the podium, a symbol of deference, "but I doubt we'd do our allies any good if we have to watch our backs all the time, seeing as how, like Claire said, they seem to be gearing up to hit us just as hard." She gestures to the coterie. "Look at us. If not for providence, all of us standing here, with you, were one night's work that could've been against you. And they've had plenty of nights in between." She didn't want to bring up River's tip on the warehouse, not unless they had to, but if there were a cluster of 'shock troops' just waiting to be turned loose on the streets and on them, leaving was probably the worst thing they could do right now.

Re: Chapter 2 - The Calm Before the Storm

Eve breathes a mental sigh of relief. It wasn't all of them together, but it was good enough. For now. Now all she had to do was wait, and listen to how the Prince will respond to their little show of unity and ideas.

Re: Chapter 2 - The Calm Before the Storm

Everyone of the kindred in the room just continues to stare at the coterie, including the Prince. Some with an amused look on their faces, some confused about why the proceedings are being interrupted, but all of them are staring. It's so silent for a moment that you could hear a pin drop.

Fuck why are they staring at me, I'm the one who's supposed to read people not you fuckers. Quit staring, quit staring, fuck, fuck, fuck. "FUCK," Ronny suddenly screams at an entirely unappropriate volume. His whole body shakes as his face actually turns red and his fists clench so tightly that blood spurts from where his nails dig into his palm.

"QUIT FUCKING STARING AT ME YOU GOD DAMNED BLOOD SUCKING LEECHES. I ONLY SEE ONE FUCKING PRINCE IN THE ROOM AND HE WAS THE ONLY FUCKING ONE ADDRESSED BY THE FUCKING BITCH. SO THE REST OF YOU CAN JUST TURN AROUND AND LET HIS FUCKING HIGHNESS CONTINUE WITH WHAT THE FUCK'S HIS NAME."

Re: Chapter 2 - The Calm Before the Storm

And the silence of the "pin drop" moment continues after Ronny's outburst. Needless to say, if he didn't want to be stared at, that was the wrong way to go about it. He's now got the attention of just about everyone in the room. There's a few politely quiet coughs, some quickly muffled bits of nervous laughter, definitely some shifting around of bodies, and the scrape of a few chairs along the floor.

"I appreciate the request to return to the proceedings, Mr. Landry, which is what we should be concentrating on, correct?" The Prince addresses the room, his gaze sweeping across those gathered, completely unphased by the younger Kindred's outburst. "Especially given concerns raised." He puts his attention briefly on the three women that had spoken, particularly Claire, given she was the first one to be vocal about the Calgary situation, though Eve and Izzy fall under his gaze as well. "Heidrich, you were saying?" For the time being, he draws back into quiet conference with the emissary, though it's likely worth noting he will occasionally flick a glance in the coterie's direction.

Re: Chapter 2 - The Calm Before the Storm

Eve quirks an eyebrow at Ronny, before bowing again to the Prince and settling herself back in her seat, quickly tugging on Claire's shirt on the way down. With another soft smile she murmurs, "Thanks, Fletch. I was worried there for a minute."

Re: Chapter 2 - The Calm Before the Storm

Ronny's outburst gets a wince from Izzy and she gives him a rather worried look, shaking her head and putting on a passive face as her attention goes back to the Prince. With the others sitting down, she slides back into her chair as well. They'd had their say. It was up to the Prince to decide what to do about it, it seems. As she settles, Raven's attention goes to her, though it's hard to tell how he's feeling about Ronny's actions, keeping his expression rather calm. The blonde catches the glint in his eyes though and arches a brow, merely getting a little smile in return. Still, that Ronny should react that way worries her, but now was really not the time to call him on it.

Re: Chapter 2 - The Calm Before the Storm

Heidrich quickly clears his throat as he takes one last flustered look back towards Ronny before resuming his gracious tone and finishing his request.

"A-as I was saying my Grace. The battle er fight for Calgary is at a critical juncture and any aid that you could provide to my sire would be most gratefully accepted. Thank you for at least allowing me this chance to plead for your aid."

Prince Ken looks down at Heidrich with a hint of disappointment in his features before addressing the emissary. "As I'm sure you have already gathered by now Heidrich, we are fairly beset on all sides ourselves in this, my domain. However I assure you that I shall discuss this matter with my advisors as soon as possible. Now please make yourself welcome in my domain until a decision has been made as to what aid we may provide my honored colleague Prince Gideon."

As the Prince's gaze once again sweeps over the room, it finally settles once again on the coterie. "Now I would like to open the floor to any petitions that others may have of me."
