Re: Monstergirls Unlimited RPG

The inn glitch has been fixed, and enemies are being made harder. Check out the MGU forums for progress!
Um.. I did a google search for MGU forums, and I tried the search there but I have no idea what I would insert into the search bar to get results.

Typed out Monstergirls Unlimited RPG and got nothing.

It would be helpful if you posted a link. Not to be a whiny bitch or anything.

Re: Monstergirls Unlimited RPG

I'd like some feedback gaiz, if you have the time, answer a few questions for me.

1. Rating the game from 1 - 10 in difficulty, what score would you give?
2. What level were you when you fought Salyri?
3. Was Salyri too hard or too easy?
1. It's easy enough to just spam attack all the time and win. I think the best solution here is not to make monsters do more damage and have more hp but give them and player characters' some special abilities.
But the encounter rate is too high for my taste, can't take 5 steps without being attacked. And Richard gets poisoned too easily!
2. ~4
3. Too easy, just did very little damage and nothing else.

You get the link if you read the sign in Merryfield or complete the beta. Here's a link though:

Re: Monstergirls Unlimited RPG

Difficulty : 1~2
Boss fight level : 4.
Boss difficulty : Easy. Way too easy. First time through I used 1 pot. Second time I just spammed the space button o_O... I had best weapons though.

Other than obvious things... (Like adding some skills in) :

Alraune poison is overkill. Doesn't wear off over time nor damage dealt, and so you have to walk back 3~ maps just to heal it. In the end I just "Escape"d from every alraune battle.

Add a function to hide text. Gets in the way of the CG.

Also, from what I remember, in the signpost in Merryfield, the site is "monstergirlSunlimited.com" or something along those lines, when the real one doesn't have the "S".

Could perhaps have some CG or something for the starting text, to depict what the guy is saying, rather than have the dude walk through a hallway and read all the books. I found this the most boring part.

An option to run faster, perhaps? At some points I felt like I had to walk back and forth too much.

Otherwise, great game.

1. 4; It was kind of tedious, since I kind of treated it like most games that just start you on your adventure, and continued on the linear path of the story, without doing much careful preparation for any tough fights. So, the Alraunes that poisoned Richard and Nya kind of made me walk around the plant part constantly having only 1HP, since all they do is poison you over and over again, and not take advantage of your 1 hit point.

2. Looking at my savefile, I was about level 5.

3. Salyri was actually slightly challenging, due to the fact that I constantly had poison afflicting me. However, the plenty amount of potions I obtained from defeating Alraunes helped keep my group alive. Richard didn't seem to be able to hurt as much as Nya, even with the better sword, so I just had him on potion chucking duty, while Nya turned the plant into sliced butter.

Thank you so much. Wow I feel kinda stupid. Oh! What could help alot of people (and get many to view your profile) is if you put this link on your homepage in these forums. Good advertisement I would think, but then again you don't want people cramming your message boards with stupid stuff.

I'm going to point out the obvious and say: Pretty likely, since he asked for feedback.

Re: Monstergirls Unlimited RPG

got the .exe to work after , (for anyone elso having the same problem go into norton and find security history find the right file then double click, select options and then restore file :)

anyway
1: 3 or 4, would be much lower id not for the poisoning
2: bout 6
3: very easy

one suggestion would be when the game is a bit larger try to utalise some kind of transport system as i could see getting back to the town getting VERY annoying in a huge game

that said the game will probably easily be in my top 3 erotic games when its done

nice job :)

2-3 super easy, you literally have to hit defend on both characters for like 4 turns to risk loosing a fight. and you can farm as much money as you want without even fighting if you wanted better gear.

2. 4, 5 maybe? I went back to town once when I really didnt need to.

3. She was a joke. Perhaps its because I bought the trident, but I think I used 2 potions in the fight, of the 12 I got just walking there, and one was just to fill my hps when the fight started.

The game is fun, I like the direction it is going, but it would be nice to have some degree of challenge more than there is now. And of course more content, but thats just a matter of you having time, I'd rather smaller polished games than big crappy ones, and this is defiantely well done so far.

Re: Monstergirls Unlimited RPG

Shift lets the character run by the way... Seems like someone didn't know that.

Anyways, I'd put it at...

1. 2
2. Level 4
3. Pretty easy, although I did run out of antidotes so Richard was still taking damage from that. Had to heal a bit more, but other than that no problems. She ended up draining hp one time from Richard...

All in all, I'd say the difficulty was about right for the first chapter of an RPG. As long as you keep ramping up the difficulty as the game progresses, it's fine.

Awesomeness! Keep the game on please xD It's awesome :)
I'll give the game 8-9 of 10, but could reach a 10.
I'd say the boss was somewhat easy, yet challenging, so as a first boss, where you are still learning the game, she's ok. Also, might just be me, but couldn't find any cures for poison? xD Making it tough killing the tree girls :p But actually, might be me who haven't checked the stores fully yet.

Also found a bug. If you ask for a room in the in, before having gone to second floor, you'll be stuck, and forced to load, since he'll call you, but you can't leave the room.

Re: Monstergirls Unlimited RPG

First, the survey (v0.4):
1. Difficulty: 2
2. Level 5 - No grinding, just fought everything I encountered while scouring the area for treasures.
3. Too easy. Nya got a crit which leap-frogged Salyri's last 200+ health, so I never saw her do anything besides attack. I found this to be rather bland after the gimmicks with the random encounters.

For people having trouble with the alarune poison, I'd like to point out the following:

1) Poison in this game cannot bring you below 1hp, neither on the field nor in battle.
2) Alarunes are the only random encounter in the forest, and have no means of dealing direct damage.

This means it is impossible to die in the forest unless you wait enough turns for the alarune script to trigger. So you can run around at 1hp slaughtering alarune to your heart's content and never be in any real danger. Just have a few potions handy for the boss fight.

Re: Monstergirls Unlimited RPG

hey architect i have a suggestion for an epic final battle right say for an example u play as richard right so u've lost your memmory so when u finaly get your memmory back you come back to your father and then have to choose to rejoin the human forces rejoin them as an under cover for the monster girls or stay with the monster girls and as for difficaulty weak as for level was lvl 2 and nya was lvl 3 when i faced salyri and also u can try scripting in a heal ability that unlocks at say lvl 2-3 and say an elemental attack ability for nya instead of the healing one as she is mainly a fighter so i assume

..... In real life, you WOULD stop to take a breath, right?

Not trying to be mean, it's just that it's hard to read one giant run-on sentence.

Re: Monstergirls Unlimited RPG

Hrm... in answer to your questions:
  1. Difficulty 2. Very very easy, so far.
  2. Level 5. I wandered around Pale Forest a fair amount, and didn't run from anything.
  3. Too easy. I tossed back a few potions and whomped on her, and she folded up and collapsed. She Leeched precisely once, and didn't use her poison attack. Maybe add some stun/sleep attacks.
Other thoughts:
  • Slimes are just too weak. They only pose a threat if you were poisoned by the Alarunes and let your HP drain away.
  • Monstergirls produce incubi doesn't make sense for the animalistic ones. Maybe limit that to the succubi (where it does), while e.g. werecats produce werecat females and more-or-less ordinary males.
  • The railroading, present while Nya is guiding Richard around Merryfield, annoys me. Why should I get to control the party if I can only walk to one specific spot? How about having Nya actually drag Richard about, and have the game walk me to Doc's and so forth?
  • While I'm at it, the buildings look really bland. Add windows, flowerpots, a sign for Doc's hut, that sort of thing. So you can tell them apart.
  • Your doors annoy me, especially the ones for the Inn rooms. After tinkering around with the VX editor, I've come up with more interactive versions - which I've attached. Feel free to use 'em.
  • Getting one centaur drunk gets 'em all drunk. Instead of a global switch, use selfswitches. Or were you planning on having an "aftermath" event down the line? If so, then you could use both switches - the selfswitch detects whether that particular centaur is drunk, while the global switch flags for Richard later getting chased down by an angry centaur.
  • Skillz! Our heroes don't have any. I understand they're not the magic-wielding types, but "Leg Sweep", "Dual Attack", and so forth make good candidates for them. Or give Nya a "Pickpocket" attack, if you can figure out how.
