I think my biggest issue with this petition thing, is that the fans are once again mobilizing and acting as if the intellectual property belongs to them, and not the people making it. They are actually attempting to tell Capcom what game they should make, and not letting Capcom make what they want.
If you don't like the premise, tell them with your wallet, don't buy the game. If hardly anyone buys the game then Capcom more than likely won't make another game for financial reasons.
Also... 7000 people isn't very much at all.
