Then play on easy. Normal difficulty and above are designed to play like an rts.
I played on normal. I barely micromanaged my party; I gave the occassional order. (See: Very rare) I've finished the game.

It could be I have a greater grasp of how to set up tactics. It could be that the my main character was so dangerous that anything in combat with him was stunned/paralysed and then dead within a few seconds.

But in the end, it's possible, and that's all that's really important. learn 2 play.

I actually did do it on normal without having to touch my other party members, so I know you can. It's just that people complaining about it not being real time enough should play on easy.

Really? I played on hard and never had to give out orders unless I was in a boss battle. Even then it felt more like an RPG than an RTS, sort of like the Tales Of series. Sure, sometimes I would get annoyed with how they run off and attack the wrong guy, but every AI has that problem and it didn't detract from the game experience for me.

Of course, take my advice with a grain of salt, since I got to the Landsmeet and stopped playing. The storyline was just too bland for me. Does it ever get more interesting? I feel like I'm almost at the end but I just don't care about the ending because it's all politics and who will become king.

More dramatic things happen after landsmeet. Also, I'm getting difficulty descriptions from the menus when you hold your mouse over the different settings.

All I know is I'm starting to get a tad...

Miffed...

Been going through another Mass Effect power multi-runthrough to clean up the acheivements I missed...

Namely: the (enter word here) ally acheivements..

Now looking them up it says you need like 15 story based mission and 45 side missions complete in order to get one..

If you count the Story mission after you get Liara theres only 14 including the final fight with Sovereign...

That and a simple single mistake I made yesterday made it so I lost out on three side missions...

Mer-tastic...

On a side note if you dont just skip EVERY dialouge you hear little tidbits of... Info...

Did anyone know a Krogan has four testicles?

Why aren't we seeing more Doujins?

*starts thinking about the application of a Hanar in the bedroom.*

In mass effect two you can buy a porn mag with a hanar on the cover for 5 credits.

I thought that was a purple zergling.

Hanar does make more sense.

Purple...? It's blue. I'm talking about 'Fornax' from the omega markets.

Also, the codex entry you get from purchasing it happens to contain the word 'krogasm' which is short for krogan orgasm.

Re: Games Discussion Thread

Yes, that's what I was talking about as well. I haven't seen the image in a couple weeks though so I'm probably just remembering wrong. Because I know purple is a HUGE difference from blue. I'm WAY off base. *rolls eyes*

So, I just finished ME2 for the first time and I'm wondering if any of you guys know a method in which I can edit my ME1 saves in order to get different plot choices from extra playthroughs of ME2. Specifically, I want to see how Liara reacts to seeing me when I had a romance with her in the previous game. The thing is, I've beaten ME1 ten or twelve times, and gotten rid of all my characters except for one via hard drive formats or just getting bored of the game, uninstalling it, and picking it up again a year or two later. I have ZERO desire to play through that game AGAIN just to see what is essentially flavor text, and my desire to play through ME2, being pigeonholed into killing the council AND wrex is also quite near ZERO.

Anybody know of a third-party program that will let me manipulate my ME1 save to get the desired results?

Re: Games Discussion Thread

I am aware that somewhere on the internet is a site full of save files with various endings, levels, and game-changing choices listed along side. I don't recall how I found this site or what it's called, but it's certainly out there.

EDIT: Google points me here:

Re: Games Discussion Thread

Yeah, I was hoping not to have to resort to that but it's looking more and more like my only option. Ugh, now I have to find free versions of the ME1 DLC just so I can load these saves...

Also... question for those that have completed both games...
Does aybody else think that it's glaringly obvious that the Illusive Man is Admiral Hackett from ME1?

I don't think you'd need the DLC from game one to lad the save in game 2...

But I've been wrong before, so w/e.

I happen to like stories that actually have politics in them. More than just hurr hurr lets kill some shit. I was actually fairly dissapointed when the pre-landsmeet politicing consisted of "go here, kill shit; go there, kill shit".

BEEG TEE-TEES, COUSIN!

Now that I have your attention, I would like to direct Dragon Age owners to this site: . I don't think you need an account, but it's nice, since there are some mods you do have to have an account for.

It has a lot of mods for Dragon Age, and a rating system so you can see how many people like a particular mod versus how many don't (Thumbs Up vs. Thumbs Down, no 'average rating' stuff). Of course, ratings just by themselves suck, so there's also a place under each mod where there are comments left by members, so you can see the feedback the mod's getting.

Now, on to mods I've found.
~The One I Apparently Need For One or Two~
- I don't know if it simply manages the mods I have in the 'override' folder, or what. Guess I won't know 'till I try it, eh?

~Ones I Intend to Try~(mostly because I don't think they'll interfere with each other)

(As well as the other dialogue tweaks/fixes in the description)
(She does not sound as old as she looks, so might as well make her look as young as she sounds)
- Adds new options in Character Creation for hair, skin, and eye colors.
- Another Character Creation mod.
- Yet a third Character Creation mod.
- Changes Morrigan, Sten, and Leilana to look more like they did in the SA trailer.
- Quest that apparently integrates into the story as though it were always there. I just have to figure out how to get it working, because the description says I need to use the doaupdater.exe.
- Apparently gives a more detailed description of spells/items/etc. when you hover over them.
- I always like new spells.
- Makes the Chain Lightning spell scale with you. Available in Non-FF and FF versions.
*NSFW*
- THIS is what I've been looking for :D . Anyways, this is 4 body mods rolled into one package. Pick the ones you want and add 'em is my guess, seeing as how there are shemale skins in there, and not everyone wants that.
- Self explanatory.
- Yanno, 'cause she wasn't naked enough... anyways, mostly only going to use this if the 'Natural Bodies' doesn't change her already, which I don't think it does.
- Well, the hair is removed from the nipples, leastways.
- ... lulz
/*NSFW*

~Ones I've Found, But Not Sure About~
- Adds a 'Cleric' class to PC choices. Iffy because of what he says in the comments section: "Please keep in mind, anything that modifies spells will not be compatible with mine as I had to add CUSTOM spells for the cleric and since they are custom, the other mods will not work on them." Otherwise, I am actually interested, and he intends to make other classes as well. Might keep an eye on him.
- Allows you to cast spells instantly that you normally would have to do a combo for, as well as adds a few of his own spells. Iffy because while I don't have to use the custom ones, and the others are just spells you could use normally, being able to cast the combo ones instantly may be a little OP.
- Spells that allow a mage to unlock doors/chests. I kinda like it, but it would probably also make the game too easy. (Yeah yeah, I bitch about the game, but I do love it)
- "This mod will redesign the WHOLE of the NPCs in Dragon Age to fix skin issues, face proportions, personality mismatches, gender identification, race identification, etc. to better fit the lore of Dragon Age." My only concern is it may conflict with 'Natural Bodies', 'More Hairstyles', and 'Sacred Ashes Characters'.
- Apparently gives Sten an additional Specialization point, because I guess he only gets one? I don't use him really, so I don't pay attention. If I notice that's a problem, I'll probably use this.
- Adds Evocation skills to the mage class. Apparently still has some bugs to work out. Seems like a nice idea, though.

If I were a die-hard modder, I would thank you for the input. Heck, even not being one, thanks. I can pass the info along, at least.

Naked Succubus - Yanno, 'cause she wasn't naked enough...
- How very very true. Same with the lady of the forest. Ah well. What some folks won't do for a little extra T&A...

Well, at least some of the mods are simply put into the 'override' folder. Dunno what OS you're using, but for me (Vista) it's in <user name> -> Documents -> Bioware -> Dragon Age -> packages -> core -> override. So even if you don't do anything 'die-hard', you can at least give it a go if you ever want to.

Yeah, but they at least make sense, though. I mean, Succubi wouldn't be bothered by nudity at all (hell, it HELPS them), and I don't think a 'Lady of the Forest' is going to be bothered by human-kind's need for covering up the nipply bits.

Lesse...OS...it's made by some Japanese company, actually. Sunny, I think? Somby? Sony, that's it! I don't think mods work on the PS3, but thanks, heeheheh. (And even if they do, I haven't figured out how to network up yet, so it doesn't do me any good.)

Re: Games Discussion Thread

I swear, when my little brother takes over the world, the first thing I'm having him do is force computer manufacturers to GIVE every home a computer that can run something like Crysis (I think that was the game) with no problem. Not that DA is as bad as Crysis on the resource hogging, but that's besides the point, the point being that I'm a hardcore PC gamer who believes anyone playing a multi-console game that can be on PC, plays it on PC.
Eheh.
>.>
<.<
... HEYLOOKWHAT'STHATOVERTHERE *exit, stage left*

They really should make mods compatible with consoles, though.

Re: Games Discussion Thread

You're telling me. My friend downloaded a hair patch of some sort for her DA game and I'd love to see something other than the original styles there. Ah well. I deal. I mean, back in the day, you didn't have all that fancy character customization. You picked a portrait and a voice that wasn't going to dive you batshit insane hearing it over and over and over again (could be why I treasure good voice acting...) and that was it! Hells, some of 'em didn't even HAVE voice acting!

Uphill.
Both ways.
Barefoot.
