Re: Do you remember the nineties?

What, you mean to say that Totally Spies isn't as good as stuff like Swat Kats, Reboot, and Dexter's Laboratory?

Fix'd.
Not sure of Reboot, but Totally Spies, for being a 'chick' show, was purdy cool. I meant stuff like Spoungebob Squarepants and Camp Lazlow more in my (seemingly dumb now) generalization.

Swat Kats
Oh my fucking god. You are the first person I've talked to outside of my family that actually remembers that glorious show. That was my favourite show... EVER.

Oh, I remember it, too. I also remember trying to block it out of my mind...

Re: Do you remember the nineties?

Oh Shrike... Kerrigan does have that certain hotness about her doesn't she.

Anyway, Starship Troopers... have the first two movies, and the entire CGI series on DVD. I also have the book, which is much different, and from the 1950's. So since the book is from way back then, and Warhammer 40k is from the 80's I believe, calling the movie Starship Troopers Space Marines vs. Aliens is unfair. It's like calling Dawn of War a complete rip-off of Starcraft...

I'm probably crazy, but most of those Alien-ny things I find hot. Like Geiger's Aliens, though his originals are a lot more... Phallic...

This probably means I'm getting old, but I still watch re-runs of Ren & Stimpy in my free time.

I fucking love that show, and I'll never forget about happy-happy-joy-joy.

Eh, but she's like the rest of us- it takes a while to get ready for a big show-off

Oh, I'm well aware of the differences, but you have to realize my gaming group. Starship Troopers was Tyranids vs. Space Marines, the Matrix was what happened when the and the got together to make a movie, and any and all vampires in movies were critiqued not only for clan but sect as well. It's more of an equating thing than, say, claiming LotR borrowed things from Harry Potter...

If anything, HP would have 'borrowed' from LOTR...

Re: Do you remember the nineties?

I just realized that John Williams did in fact do the score for the movie... That just makes it more hilarious.

Re: Do you remember the nineties?

Like Oni said, a lot of that is very American specific, but surprisingly still applies. Another one I'm sure was universal was the pokemon cards rush. Nine thousands cards and no one who actually knew the rules. Through working with my brothers in lots of sly trading I managed to build up a vaguely playable (if crap) deck without ever buying a pack. Man were they expensive.

And there's nothing indecent about that Dark. I still remember drying out in front of the fire after a bath. Wouldn't do it anymore though...

Yeah, I remember that Pokemon cards were insanely expensive. I also remember the time before € came.
