I must say MadHettie, you're doing an amazing job. The animations look great. Take your time with these updates; the wait is well worth it.

Awesome that there will be multiple tentacles. Though the bulge in her throat probably needs to be bigger if she is taking two now. An double the jizz on her face an coming out of her mouth.

Sifer, notice that she actually swallows after the second one cums into her mouth. That lighter green one has better aim.

I love the brown tentacle crawling up the leg and filling her up. I know this doesn't really help anyone, but I just felt I should say it.

Y thank you my good sir/madam/both. I did not think of the way my words could be misconstrued to mean what I did not intend for them to mean. Here's a cookie for you and some extra pocket change to buy yourself something nice.

MadHettie... as for you. Just of curiosity, how much % would you say it's finished in your oppinion? Also, shouldn't we all talk about the gameplay? It is known in the game industry that some graphics are damn good but the gameplay sucks so much that it becomes more frustrating than "satisfying". So the difficulty and the fact of randomness how often the same tentacle appears.

It is a remake, so I would expect it to play exactly like the original, except with the fact there are 'enemy classes' further in the game where there's multiple tentacles. I'm at a loss on how one would dodge up, down, and middle tentacles at the same time.

Good point there. Did anyone consider to think about that? *looks suspicious into the round* :D

I imagine a flurry of tentacles you need to dodge in order or else they'll all systematically get you.

OR, seeing as this is JG and not DG, perhaps a spear you could chuck, IF it really needs any weapon at all.

Personally, I don't think JG needs a weapon, it'll just need a different spawn rate as you get further without being hit than the original, or have the tentacles each individually deal less damage than they did in the original to deal with the fact that there can be multiple tentacles grabbing you at the same time. You don't want the player to feel it's unbeatable simply because you get to 90 with half your life/orgasm bar left, and then get gang-raped by all 3 variants and lose every single time you play.

What? Maybe she's the shaman's daughter.
Shamans used magic, too!

Or maybe health/orgasm recovery items popping up every once in a while once it gets hard?

I don't understand how this would happen. They're not spawning randomly, they're spawning at regularly decreasing intervals. At least that's the way it worked in the original JG. I'm also not sure where you go the idea of enemy classes.... the way I understand it, each tentacle would just sort of latch on (much like the fluid hunter worm-things in fairy fighting). There wouldn't be a 'double ground' tentacle or something.

It's hard to really estimate the % completion of the attack animations since once I've got all 6 tentacles animated for the ordinary attacks (2 low, 2 mid and 2 high) I can show or hide layers to create the appropriate combinations. Then it's just a matter of tweaking things like the mouth (whether or not it's occupied) and the minor motions of her head being forced back or her body being lifted slightly. For those ordinary attacks, I'd guess I'm at about 70% completion, though I'm still new at creating sprite sheets for animations.

The special attacks (in which Jungle Girl is attacked by three of the same tentacle and changes to a suspended position) may require a slight alteration of game mechanics to keep it from becoming more trouble than it's worth. Here's what I propose:

***********************
When the third tentacle of any type attacks Jungle Girl, the screen fades out and then fades in to a shot of JG already suspended. (I'm just not a good enough animator to make the transition look good on screen) During this animation, no new enemies will spawn. Perhaps it can even be a close-up or framed shot of JG, like a pseudo-Game Over. At the end of the animation, the screen fades out, then fades in to a normal view of the game screen, where we see JG pick herself up off the ground and continue walking. (unless that last animation finished off her health, in which case cue the Game Over animation)
***********************

I've already got one of those three animations nearly complete (see p. 3); I just need to animate the hair.

Ending animations haven't been started, so if anyone has ideas for those that they'd like to see, I'll take them into consideration.

I also have yet to animate the motion of the approaching tentacles (which will take very little time considering they'll be maybe two or three frames per tentacle).

I've completed one of the three blocking stances. (to avoid the hanging tentacle, she will drop to one knee and cover her mouth; it's kinda cute!)

Oh! And I also changed the curve of the spine for the walk cycle. I should have that sprite sheet up soon.

As far as gameplay is concerned, I want it to play more or less like the original. I play Jungle Girl more often than Demon Girl because the gameplay is simpler. Sure, Demon Girl has better graphics and more attack animations, but I can easily play Jungle Girl with one hand. With my off hand, even! :D

Personally, I don't enjoy button-mashing to escape attacks, I just want to enjoy them in their entirety without being penalized for it. And I don't think Jungle Girl needs attacks like Demon Girl, especially since the tentacles will all be coming one at a time.

I kind of like the idea of health recovery items, though I don't consider them necessary. Since the tentacles stack, they would necessarily have to deal low individual damage.

I see. But don't overdo it with the attacks. Like the old german motto say "Zuviele Köche verderben den Brei" (Too many cooks ruin the mash). Still just have fun and take your time with it. It's not like we are going to force you. *hides whip behind the back*

Seems like a very great idea you got there. My suggestion there will be, with the new screen with the close-up thingie. Maybe you could make it sustain so the players can "enjoy" it until they click a button to continue their "walk in the jungle". You can do it we all have faith in you.

For the ending..how about, she is lying on the floor and suddenly out of nowhere from the edge of the screen manny many tentacles appear and attack her. Then a new screen appears with a fixed Game over scene. It might save you some time with it.

I've completed one of the three blocking stances. (to avoid the hanging tentacle, she will drop to one knee and cover her mouth; it's kinda cute!)
I'm very sorry but all i can think about it..

That's understandable (is that even a word?). Since you all are working on a remake and not on an advanced version, it's better to keep it to the original idea. Keep it simple. Whats the point of making something better whats already effective enough?

So there will be no escape once a tentacle got you. Seems interesting how much damage they will afflict. But if one tentacle got you, wouldn't it end that more will stack up to you automaticly, since you cannot get them off?

That's a feature that Nunu would construct, though if it's added in at all, I'd like it to be optional so that if I prefer, I don't have to tell the game to continue. It is, after all, an extra step.

While we're on the subject of optional features, I would like to implement the sandbox gameplay from Demon Girl. The showcase feature didn't do much for me, but maybe we can throw that in there as well.

So there will be no escape once a tentacle got you. Seems interesting how much damage they will afflict. But if one tentacle got you, wouldn't it end that more will stack up to you automaticly, since you cannot get them off?
That depends on:
a) How quickly the tentacles are spawning (the rate increases as you go)
and
b) Whether or not Jungle Girl is being restrained by a "mid" tentacle

If JG is unrestrained, attacks by "high" and "low" tentacles will be defeated after a few frames (I still need to animate those) and will not stack. During all attack animations, no new tentacles will spawn, so the only chance at a large chain of attacks will be at a point when several tentacles have already spawned before the first one reached JG. In other words, at the harder parts of the game when the spawn rate has climbed too high to overcome.
