Re: Scourge of the Silver Marches

I'm fine. We going to check anywhere else tonight, or are we going to go back to hit the hay again? Granth asks, wanting to regenerate his mana pool.

(I'm back. More stuff to loot, you never checked the ninja. And you've still got the basement, which has Gershalt in it.)

Carella looks up and brightens up, "Oh... right... there was a guy... in our room too..." She goes upstairs and drags the ninja downstairs.

Re: Scourge of the Silver Marches

Carella finds a slightly glowing ring on the ninjas finger under his glove, but nothing else of interest. She brings down his two curved swords as well.

Trex and Aramil stand over the trap door leading to the basement, Aramil searching it for traps. He finds nothing, but has not way of removing the lock. The samurai walks over; "This leads to the basement; the creature, Gershalt, had the undead he brought with him dig it while this place was being constructed, and they stay with him down there. He is a dangerous opponent, especially at night, but he will have time to prepare further if we wait for morning to fight him. I'm sure that he is not human, but what he is I cannot say. He took one of the captives from the caravan down there, and all we heard was a single scream."

"Well, we can't leave him down there. How are we doing for spells? I'm able to continue." Malacet says slowly, asking Tod and Granth as she walked over to the basement entrance.

"I could probably use a bit o' healing, before going after this one." Holi says as he puts down his ale to join the others near the door.

Re: Scourge of the Silver Marches

I used up a good portion of my mana reserves against those zombies, so I'll only be able to use a couple more high energy spells before I'm stuck with weaker ones. Granth says, lamenting the limit on his abilities to cast lightning bolt.

Bolm replies to Holi; "Bah! You've got nothin but a scratch on ye!" Before casting a minor healing spell, closing the wound under his lip but not restoring the lost portion of his beard.

"Then let's get going," Holi says as he trys to bash the lock off the trap door.

(It may only be a scratch, but it would almost kill everyone else in the group)

Re: Scourge of the Silver Marches

(By the way, your haste expired Ryu.)

1d20+13 = 4+13 = 17 vs DC7 = hit
1d10+8+1d6 = 4+8+3 = 15-10 = 5 damage
1d20+8 = 16+8 = 24 vs DC7 = hit
1d10+8+1d6 = 2+8+6 = 16-10 = 6 damage

Holi lifts his axe and swings it at the lock on the trap door, hitting it with a loud clang. As he lifts his weapon back up, he can see a crack along the well made piece of steel, but the lock is still intact. what ever is down there, it knows that it's in for company now. He swings again, and this time the lock splinters. Trex opens the trap door and peers inside, seeing solid wooden stairs leading down into darkness. Besides the shuffling of the group members, there is no sound until a wolf howls a short distance away.

(I figured as much. S'why I didn't ask. ^^; )

"I'm still ok for magic. I didn't burn up too much. Though that could change if a certain hellgirl would be so kind as to see if the ninja has any useful items on him." Tod replies to Malacet

"Would you please stop mentioning that?" Malacet says slowly, walking up to the ninja's body and casting a spell, looking at the ninja and every other body in the room, just in case.

Trex, Bolm, and Aramil all give Tod a quick glare at the mention of Malacets condition. The samurai looks at him almost murderously.
Malacet detects powerful magic from the ring on the ninjas finger, and minor magic from his two curved swords.

Bolm chants a quick spell to illuminate the area, and takes a tentative step down the stairs.

"Sorry... Was just a poor attempt at humor. You'll hear no more of that from me." Tod appologises quickly, casting identify at the 3 items. "And I still have a few spells left in me, but I'll agree with Granth that I'll need to rest and regain them sometime soon."

Malacet says nothing after pointing out the items, just moving down beside Holi and peering into the darkness as well.

Re: Scourge of the Silver Marches

Darkvision and Bolms light reveal a plain dirt floor in a wide room. Further into the room a large stone column, presumably of the fountain can be seen. It blocks view of the other side of the room. Other than that, nothing of interest can be seen in the large dark room.

So, where are they? Granth asks, his voice automatically whispering in the quiet area.

"They're probably waiting deeper in, I suspect that there's more than just a single room down here." Malacet says calmly. "We shouldn't give them any more time than needed."

Aramil descends the stairs and examines the ground around the foot of the stairs. "Tracks, many of them, all of them going further in but none coming out. Most with boots, but some are also barefoot, and many of those are skeletal. They lead around the column, there must be more to this basement."
