Re: Member Announcements Thread

It all comes down to personal preference. I know lots of folks who much prefer mouse and keyboard, I know just as many if not more that prefer a console controller.

Then of course there's always the difference between console controllers. I prefer the Xbox 360 ones, there are those that like the Playstation ones (which have been the same since PS1).

Its all personal preference. If one thing was actually much better, than the lesser one would probably have phased out by now. Since nothing has... personal preference.

Good point Sin. Actually, for a while the PC was kinda phasing out, but that was for lack of social potential than anything else. Then came highspeed internet connection, and PC games we're (At least kinda) soscial again.

I gotta say, I'm a PC fan, but in regards to lvl of fun nothing beats a big screen, some decent console game with split screen for 4 or more ppl. And cusswords. Lot's of 'em:)

Hehehe, This.

Every time I play split screen, I can't stay focused on my own screen because I just keep, by some kind of subconscious *tick* I have, getting distracted by all the different shit goin' on with the other part of the screen. Plus, I was used to having the whole screen to myself ever since the Mario days, havin' my side squished over to make room makes it a little bit less comfortable.

But, that's just that mental tick I have. No one else I've met seems to have that problem. :p

I had the most fun when a buddy of mine brought over his PS (old days), and we played Command & Conquer Red Alert Retaliation over a lan cable. We had our own TV's, and a lot of fun. :D

Re: Member Announcements Thread

I cannot do a FPS with a controller. I tried. I suck. About the only one I came close to doing is Dirge of Cerberus and that has an auto-aim on it. I much prefer keyboard and mouse for FPS, but, like Sin said, it all boils down to personal preference.

And I remember PSone lan parties. We had a "gaming complex" of apartments when I was in college...my then boyfriend and two of his buddies had three apartments in this one building and we'd all converge, run wires all over the rooms and sit and blow each other up playing C&C. Other friends of mine used to have massive Starcraft parties in which the computers were on two levels of the same house and every Wed. my friends and I get together for a CS lan party. Four of us + one room, sitting back to back...we changed it out to playing bots because we got sick of getting pissed at one another (and being too tempted to cheat *laughs*)

I do all right with split screen, though it's mostly just a two way split and having a big screen TV really helps with that. The problem I run into is when there's a switch from player one to player two (in Dynasty Warriors for instance) and I have to remember which portion of the screen I'm supposed to be looking at, heh.

Re: Member Announcements Thread

I grew up with a PC, but at the speed PC hardware was going, my family could never really afford to keep it up to date. Got our first console with the Xbox, and then 360.

I'm normally perfectly fine using either control set up. Depends on the game and how well the developers tune the analogue control. Some games like the newer Turok game just piss me of with their ridiculous on/off hyper sensitive aiming. Others like Halo, got it right from the start. Split screen ocassionaly throws me off when I see a rocket flying at me but can't figure out from which direction in time. But without it those 16 player lan parties just wouldn't be feasible, so I love it.

In other news, I recently had probably the most vibrant and absorbing dream I have ever had. Beating even the old flying monks nightmare from my childhood. It was weird, when I woke up I could remember almost everything. I immediately started running it through my mind again and again to be sure not to forget it, and then dedicated the entire day to drawing and writing about it. There was too much to describe it here. But it was seriously something else. Is there a proper name for a "super dream"? I'll post the better scribbles in my blank page entry.

I've allways wanted to do that. I rarely dream, or actually, I do, everybody does, but I don't remember it when I wake up. But those times I do remember it's awesome. But I always forget. It's like trying to hold on to water for me, it pours away, until there's only a fraction left, then it slowly, slowly dries out.

The one time that really annoyed me though was when I had a very long dream in which I wrote a song and then played it on stage. The thing is, when I woke up, I kept trying to write down the song, but I couldn't. Only got like one paragraph. :'(

Anyways, Unkown, I'm looking forward to reading your dreams:p

Heh, you know, if I didn't know better I could have suspected drugs too. Never been on any such drugs, but I have to wonder if it might be similar. And that's a pretty fitting way to describe dreams Wonderboy. This one just stood out somehow. Well, blank page has been updated. Still working on the written part.

Well I wish I couldn't remember my dreams most of the time, except for the fishing dream. I just wish it happened more often.

I personally have no prejudices against any type of controller, I just use whichever is handy.

Dang you, Shrike keep yer Alberta clippers to yerself.

I'm more wondering about the fact that lucas is talking in the third person. As if lucas possessed someone and then fucked his souless body before leaving that person's body to go back to his own.

Lucas was constantly teased as a child about he was gay, to the point where he was ambushed in a school bathroom, had a knife held up to his penis and had it threatened to be cut off.

That being said, every instance of s3cks is a major victory for me in about a thousand different ways, hence why I don't keep it to myself. Except from my mother. She still thinks I'm a virgin. Ha ha. 8D;

Wow, in that case, Lucas, GO!

Also, it's annoying when people think you're gay. I mean, I don't have anything against gay people, but c'mon it's not cool if you lick my face and try to kiss me. And when I say "I'm not gay!" It's happened twice that the people in question just say: "C'mon, no need to be shy."

I mean FUCK!.

That is all.

Shrike was born on Valentine's Day, and couldn't get her first date until she was seventeen years old. She had a date with a lesbian before that, on said birthday, but they blew her off to hang out with a guy.

In other words, I feel your pain, but I find it irritating for people to broadcast that kind of stuff.

Re: Member Announcements Thread

Though I've never had hopeful guys trying to force themselves on me I have had people believing I was gay as well. Mainly because I never outwardly showed the slightest interest in girls or sex, no matter what people were talking about or who I was talking to. Neutral stance regardless. I suppose it made me look like I was hiding something. All the girls in one of my college classes at some point decided I was gay, and had thought so for nearly a year until it came up. They were all genuinely shocked to find they were wrong.

Also something from later doing some contract work with a waste collection company. This kinda annoyed me. Just because your not interested in taking part in some group ogling and nudging, why does that suddenly make you gay? My thoughts went along the lines of, 'For christs sake leave the roadside snack bar woman alone! I'm not interested what you guys would want to do with her, I'm here to throw trash into a truck.' ¬_¬
