The Love Thread (Or Just Warms and Fuzzies)

Re: The Love Thread (Or Just Warms and Fuzzies)

My best online friend I've known for over 8 years told me, "I don't ever want to not be there for you." and then decided they didn't want to spend anymore time on the computer shortly after that. :p

Re: The Love Thread (Or Just Warms and Fuzzies)

I'm torn on what thread to put this in. But I recently stumbled upon some knowledge and am both delighted and slighted by the revelation.

I had been on my girlfriends netflix on my tv for a while now, despite having my own account, because I was lazy and because there wasn't a way to log out of the device itself while on it.

Scrolling through the movies, I hit up twice. Then I went down twice. The screen is just flipping through menus. I go left, then right, then left, then right again, and it's flipping between the same two movies. I go up once and I go to the next category. I hit up again and it goes to the next category again. A third time and it follows. A fourth time, and I am greeting with an option screen on whether or not I want to deactivate the device.

Yes.. the way to deactivate either your tv or your console from the current netflix account is by entering in the konami code, and then hitting up 4 times.

...What the fuck, dude

If you've got any honey whiskey handy, try it with sprite. If you don't, get your hands on some honey whiskey. Shit's delicious.

Re: The Love Thread (Or Just Warms and Fuzzies)

I've almost completed my viewing of all of the Bond films, in order (except for the original Casino Royale from the 60s and Never Say Never Again, which are non-canonical). I must say... thus far I hate Pierce Brosnan and his set of Bond films. But as much as I despise him, I love Judi Dench.

I love Judi Dench like a fat kid loves cake. Even more than Sean Connery or Daniel Craig, she brings legitimacy to the MI6 branch. I have never known her to play a part poorly, even in a poor movie (i.e. Die Another Day and The Chronicles of Riddick).

And I have it on good authority that she acts as a GM in RPGs with her kids and grandkids. Amazing.

Re: The Love Thread (Or Just Warms and Fuzzies)

Yeah, CoR may not have been the best movie, but if memory serves, Vin Diesel pushed *hard* to have her as the Oracle and apparently left bouquets in her trailer daily.

Re: The Love Thread (Or Just Warms and Fuzzies)

Vin diesel is massive nerd though, and nerds appreciate quality acting.

Re: The Love Thread (Or Just Warms and Fuzzies)

I love budgies. They're the sweetest little things on earth.

Protip: The also smell really, and I mean really good.

I love being able to freely walk around and enjoy the world as it is.

Re: The Love Thread (Or Just Warms and Fuzzies)

I want to discuss my love for a little piece of the internet that helps me every time I get some crazy chain e-mail or piece of sensationalized "news" on facebook. I love Snopes.com. Snopes is a website where a couple of people do research to verify or debunk so-called "facts" on the internet.

I know what you might be thinking... how can I trust one part of the internet (Snopes) over another? Well, it's the same reason that I might trust one person more than I trust another: Snopes has yet to give me any reason to doubt the fact-checking abilities of its team.

Thank you, Snopes. Now I know the full story behind the Dog named Parrot, "SEX" in "The Lion King," the past of Mr. Rogers and the true origins of the fortune cookie. I can rest easier knowing you've got my back.
