Hey there!
First off, I'd strongly recommend something like

if you've never worked with WolfRPG before. If you're like me, the initial experience (with so little info in English) is kinda overwhelming. Finding which strings/vars are safe to translate can be frustrating, not to mention finding them in the first place!
WolfTrans exports the game files into text form much like Habisain's RPGTrans, meaning you can easily reference the original text while knocking out any repeating text with ease. And if the base game is updated, it's much easier to handle!
I'd start by playing the game in tandem with translating as much as possible using WolfTrans, and only venturing into the Editor when absolutely forced to. There's a fellow by the name of Widderune who's basically hand-crafting the WolfRPGEditor into English, it's a real blessing. Recent versions

I may add to this later, but let me know if you have any specific questions, I've got loads of tips and tricks!
