Technically I believe this would fall into the grey area between chemical and biological weapons, as the lethally potent methane gas would be a chemical weapon produced via biological means.

Perhaps. Also we didn't "discover" farts. Farts have been around for a very long time.

I wonder how the first fart occurred. Animals were doing it long before humans walked the earth, but I wonder which species was the first species to fart.

I do know my southpark, and seen that episode. You've just framed that part where the devil is beating the Jebus out of Jesus~
