Re: Whorelock's Revenge

The submissive content isn't the problem. I'm perfectly fine with that. The problem is that the game includes purely random bullshit as an excuse to waste my time.

Oops, you got a bad roll, go to jail.
Oops, you got a bad roll, go to a random location.
Oops, you got a bad roll, you're now blindfolded BEFORE you're dumped into "combat".
Oops, you got a bad roll, go to a random location farther BACK from where you were before.
Oops, you got a bad roll, go to jail again.
Oops, you got a bad roll while trying to escape, try escaping again.
Oops, you got a bad roll while trying to escape, try escaping again.
Oops, you got a bad roll while trying to escape, try escaping again.
Oops, you got a bad roll, go to a random location.
Oops, you got a bad roll, you're blindfolded again.
Oops, you got a bad roll, go to a random location farther BACK from where you were before.

FUCK YOU GAME! I'M LEVEL 30+ AND I HAVEN'T EVEN SEEN HALF THE GAME YET!

And then theres the worthless map, the shitty "examine to have a rough idea where to go" directions, the needlessly long list of perks, the 99.99999% uselessness of equipment, etc.
This has been a similar problem to what i've been having. It doesn't feel like bad luck either, all 3 of my playthroughs so far have been bad. Even getting to a high level and becoming submissive hasn't helped me from getting a bad end.

I didn't even get a bad end. I just assumed I glitched the game or something and created a new character... and then experienced the same fucking bullshit as before.

The concept of the game of obviously great, but the execution is so fucked up the whole game comes out as... very meh. Its like the creator made a semi-OK hentai RPG (the map is flaming dogshit) and then cranked the difficult up to Dark Souls+Ghouls and Ghosts+Kaizo Mario levels thinking it would give the game replay value.

while this version is slightly less bullshit than the original in rolls and equipment, the maze portion is now complete fucking horseshit

Re: Whorelock's Revenge

I actually managed to finish the game. I generally agree with what most people here have been saying, but I didn't find it quite as difficult. Don't get me wrong, it's really hard. I also think you need a good amount of luck to make it all the way through. But it's not impossible. (It may not be worth the effort, though)

I've tried going with a charisma build to talk my way out of encounters, that didn't work. Also tried an agility build to run away which had little success. Anyone who's played the game found a better way out of most encounters?
I went with a human female who started with the Juggernaut perk and 14 Str. This actually worked pretty well in the early game and led to many easy victories. (I think it even allows you to win vs. a Neko or Elf that catches you from behind - usually an auto loss for normal Resist or Flee checks.) This trick loses steam later when you start getting cursed gear and nasty debuffs to your Strength.

I basically focused on keeping Str and Agi as high as possible, while maintaining decent Con. In addition to Juggernaut, I picked up notable perks like Escape Artist, Stealthy, Inner Light, Protection from Evil, and Home Underground. With Stealthy and Protection from Evil, you get two rolls to avoid every encounter before combat even begins. If you also have Juggernaut and decent Str, you have a good chance to win any time you do end up in combat.

I got really lucky and found a sling that boosted Stealth chances, and cursed pauldrons that reset my character's breast size to Huge and gave her the Unnatural Assets perk. (Breast size eventually grew again to Titanic, but the reset really helped me out at the time).

Protea is your absolute best friend. Have her remove any non-magical items that screw you over like the gags. More importantly, she can remove 1 cursed magical item that might be causing you problems, such as chained manacles.

If you have a lot of items of the same type, the equipment perks are really good. They give a stacking bonus to all stats except Con for each item after the first, to a max of +6 for each of the two perks. I found Obvious Ornamentation to be pretty good, since there is a lot of jewelry in the game. Choose the other one based on what you happen to find. (I found quite a bit of metal and rubber, but leather and fishnet are also common.)

It pains me to say it since I like big boobs, but breast expansion in this game is really, really bad. The penalties to your Str and Agi become overwhelming quickly, even if you get the Unnatural Assets perk.

Potions are usually good. If you drink one then examine the same type of potion later, you will know what it does. I wish you could take them with you...

while this version is slightly less bullshit than the original in rolls and equipment, the maze portion is now complete fucking horseshit
Absolutely agreed. Even with the perk than reduces chances to get lost, navigation through the dungeon is a serious chore.

Anyway, I added a link below with my save file at the end of the game. (When it loads, just go SouthWest to the Entrance to see the ending, such as it is.) Note that I was using RAGS version 2.4.14.0 (I don't know if it makes a difference).

The ending(s) are totally not worth it. I was really annoyed. (Although I did like the ending comparison between your starting and ending character descriptions, showing just how far your character was corrupted.)

I get the feeling this is probably because no one is truly meant to beat it yet.

I only say so due to his other games having an achievement system where there might be some unlockable thing to earn. So they might the changing the ending later.

It's quite possible this game won't have a system like that, but another piece of evidence is that like you said you'd need a lot of luck to win. Idk about most people but that type of game tells me your meant to lose, a lot.

I heard someone compare this game to the unholy offspring that is the fusion of Dark Souls, Ghouls and Ghost, and Kaizo Mario. Just looking at Dark Souls I can see the comparison because the game does require skill to win, but it requires you to get lucky at the 'inopportune' moments.

Re: Whorelock's Revenge

There's a reason this game is listed as unfinished. orcm is busy fixing stuff and balancing the game somewhat. Also, different races have different ways of reacting to different tactics, it's not really indicated all that much apart from a few hint messages here and there, or if you go reading dev posts and whatnot, but there's that layer of strategy to it as well.

Perhaps I should have said in the leading post that this is somewhat of a Roguelike, on top of being RNG heavy, which can always lead to rather high levels of difficulty, on top of being a bit of a *learn by consequences* mentality when the consequences can feel somewhat random.

Orcm has been hearing complaints about the imprisonment instances that have been happening, and he's actually made updates to improve it already, and has outright considered removing it. But he's also currently working on a second game simultaneously, and I just posted this thread at the end of his Whorelock's update spree, so it may be awhile before the game faces another improvement, but I'll definitely bump the thread when it does.

Edit: I've just considered that it would help a shitload if I posted what all the perks do, I'll copypasta the info into the leading post.

Thats fucking idiotic. You're saying that the game is intentionally designed to be unbeatable because its incomplete. Thats like giving the enemy AI invulnerability and then asking beta testers if the game is balanced.

While something like that would be completely idiotic as you said. The game isn't made to be unbeatable. Just insanely hard. The fact that it is a dungeon crawler decided by number rolls means that (especially early game) you have very little control over what you can do.

And to point out in a few of the previous comments as well as light upon his past works again, the game is focused around being either submissive or dominant. This one game doesn't have the dominant option so the game is literally "Finish it before you become a slut/manwhore". And considering it has a lot of fap value, I don't actually intend to beat it until it's finished.

My biggest complaint was that it was too easy to get stun-locked into an area and that I couldn't get to the areas I wanted to go too. So I accept that this game isn't meant to be beaten or finished, YET.

And I understand that it's still being made/finished/updated. That's why I started following the blog as well, and I understand that the progress has also slowed. This tends to happen when your making a big project by yourself or with only a few people. I eagerly await the end-product.

But I seriously hope that Orcm does NOT take out the jail system. I wouldn't know how to fix the system, but if we're playing a dungeon crawling game with races that fuck things into slavery it'd be inconceivable that there wouldn't be a jail you'd be thrown into. I just wish I wouldn't get tossed back in that SAME jail in less than three minutes.

And I'll have to take a look at your generous list of perks as I have a few I need to clear up some personal misunderstandings about. :D

That would be helpful. There is a basic rundown of perks on the author's page on the walkthrough tab, but it doesn't specify a lot. Like what clothes fit into the perks for wearing a certain set of clothes.

And yet Trigon posted a save file where he beat the game. (And yes, I downloaded it and can confirmed its valid. Its at the room before the ending "cutscene".) Obviously the game is meant to be beaten.

At this point, I can only assume you're the game creator himself desperately trying to defend the game.

Re: Whorelock's Revenge

Actually, seems like an entertaining enough game. A little basic perhaps, scenes barely fleshed out and the debauchery and terrible consequences don't really have much build-up, you just kind of go straight in at the deep end.

But generally entertaining enough in a shallow and hopeless kind of way. I don't really see the problem with it being somewhere between difficult and unbeatable, as it's clearly not about winning and escaping as much as it is the inexorable slide downwards.

EDIT - Nah, it's definitely completable. Not sure if that was technically a bad end though or if there's more than one ending.

Re: Whorelock's Revenge

Alright, finally got it to work:

A few things are just weird to me:
-The starting dialogue seems to be missing parts. I could not follow the conversation at all.
-Oh, you failed a conversation: rape time.(like what......what kind of D&D experience is that? Give me like 2-3 steps before I'm sucking a Draenei's cock first!)

-No matter what gender or race, I'm somehow was female in the picture? Did I mess up in the creator or does it just assume i'm female.

-Also I noticed the game states state they are Draenei. Not F or M Draenei.

The one thing I think is probably the biggest to fix:

A Map.

I don't know if it's just RAGS bugging on me again, but all I see is green dots in a white background.

Bonus points for adding the names so I don't have to hover over the points that get switched god knows why every time I go to a new spot.

Actual gameplay, meh. It's pretty standard CoC stuff, and I don't mind that.

If I was said game creator then I wouldn't be defending it by pointing out what I don't like about it. I'm only open-minded and I'm glad you confirmed that the save file was in fact the ending to the game. That just tells me I can beat it when I want to try to.

But as for you assuming I'm the game creator, then you could just as easily label any other person who has defended it just like me. And as for any game that needs it's creator to 'desperately' defend his own title, that would be a game I'd never want to play because if the strongest defense is the one who made the 'problem' then it could never get fixed.
