I have a confession to make.

Literally ten seconds after seeing the screenshots, I was googling around looking for a torrent for this (don't look at me like that, this is ULMF, afterall, piracy is kind-of our thing)

(un?)fortunately I couldn't find one, so i'm going to screw around in the demo then possibly actually pay for the game. (shocking, I know)

I guess it depends on the quality of the demo and what sort of payment options I can use on the manga-gamer site. I don't really want to be using my card on a website I've never heard of before, and will probably never use again.

Ah well, demo first, everything else tomorrow. (he said at 4:30AM)

Eh, you're not blatantly asking for a link so I really don't see anything wrong with this post. Plus you're absolutely correct, there aren't even fake links, I haven't seen anything like this before. What the hell did lupiesoft do to keep this out of pirate hands? Yay for you guys, but shit I feel bad for the person who's soul you sacrificed to achieve this.

Whilst its not impossible to get paypal working in certain circumstances. The general gist is paypal doesn't work with adult games. This is the same reason you can't pay through paypal on Patreon.

Might I ask where else have you bought your adult games so far ?

Honestly this would be my first adult game I would buy, very odd with me, I have lived until now saying to myself ``Don't pay for porn´´, but for The Menagerie I will make an exception.

I'm finding it pretty strange that people don't recognize MG and they've done a lot over the last 7-8 years or so. But like I said before I guess its the difference between what you recognize on this forum with the majority of stuff being dlsite links. Its not like "most" Japanese games localisers communicate around here.

It's a little odd to me, too, but I was already pretty deep into the English VN scene, so they've been on my radar and that of the people around me for ages.

If you expand the other replies. Tao went on to say we might have to consider doing a walkthrough for users at some point. All the routes were written by different writers of which there are 4 & the one that can best answer your question is taking a short break.

ragm54: consulted another dev about getting paypal to work on their site the basic gist is if we can make a page on our site that doesn't include any adult content. We might get away with it if they don't discover its an adult project.

Though in the large scene it appears as if paypal are making a move to become more accepted of this kind of stuff. So maybe soon their will be more paypal availability in general. Which would be great for sites like MG & Patreon. Or us devs that just want to sell on our own sites

I was thinking, why don't you sell the game's soundtrack through PayPal and give us a game code along with the music and we can get it like that?
Though if it's too much risk to fool PayPal don't do it.

Well I've suggested it to the team, alternatively we could put a link saying if you can't buy it on mg you can throw the amount on itch.io on the soundtrack instead and we'l email a code to that address.

Also mg wrote on twitter to us in response to our comment on people having issues with payment options.
"anyone having trouble with their purchase can just contact us at [email protected] and we'll work with them."

To anyone interested, I have found a torrent of the game, but I'm going to be a little of a dick and don't post it, to respect the developers.

I might buy the soundtrack through Itch.io at the end of the month whenever I get paid.

The last 2 cg's of the game if you've unlocked everything else are not unlockable.


Taosym discovered the cause of the missing cg's a few hours ago.
"There are a few scenes we want to add and these are placeholders, but they snuck into release on accident."

Sorry for the stress you might of gone to find those 2 non existent cg's. I don't know at what point they snuck into the game as the team & the Patreon testers were unable to find the issue previously. But its clearly a fault of ours for not testing it on time and again not being as prepared as we could of done near the release. But the game only really just finished a few hours before Release.

The game is... about what I expected. I played the demo before but... hm. Its... a story... with characters.

ragm54: another user on the forum by the name of xvolverk had the same issues we sorted it out over pm but what we essentially did instead was pay the amount through itch.io for on the soundtrack purchase instead and then I handed a Key directly over.
Itch.io gives you digital receipt of your purchase along with the email/date/amount paid.

Can vouch for this, Ironstrom was great.

Mini Review for those on the fence
First impression is that this felt a lot like Katawa Shoujo with the porn done right, and I mean that in a good way. Each route focuses on a character arc and goes for the feels.

For my money Aishi had the best route, she and Rao-Ji help each other come out of their shells and just had a really deep connection. Really appreciate that they and Sabei had a real BDSM relationship instead of just the pop culture version.

I'd put Jouya next, less feels, but hilarious, and the characters were all really well realized.

I wanted to like the the Key/Asuma route, but IMO it just didn't come together. Rao-Ji's just playing the third wheel, but since she's the POV character you don't get to see enough of Key/Asuma's development. It's not clear, for example, that Asuma got over her neglect complex. It felt like the route's end was rushed compared to the others - even the sex scene was a bit short, and after all Rao did she doesn't get real acknowledgement for it, which is a shame because she does the most on this route plot-wise. They love her dick so much they forgot a 'thank you'

Still, awesome game, I usually don't even like Text+CG if there's no gameplay, but this is so good it didn't matter.

Those are just unused icons, the gallery should only have 6 slots.

I left a note/have responded to others that those 2 cg's are non unlockable and are a mistake left in the game from development. Sorry if you've gone through a mad hunt to discover those. It will be patched out of the game in a week or so along with some other various fixes.

We should of beta tested it much more thoroughly and yes perhaps we needed to delay the game again but its to late now so we can only fix things going forward.

I also thought it was a little to short as I was looking forward to see more of Pru and Jouya , overall it was a really great game and really worth the time I spent with this game.

Thanks for the feedback. I relay all of it to the team ^-^ any programming issues/bugs should be squashed relatively soon. We'l also be looking at hard coding some transitions so they make more sense. The sync of certain moments was a bit off.
A new editor has joined the ranks and we'l be looking at making some changes & maybe adding a bit extra dialogue in certain area's to help explain a bit more of whats going on in some circumstances. We have also been interested in adding bonus content in some way.
