Whoa, wait. Another set of event gacha cards to throw money at? There's only supposed to be one set that stays relevant during an event.
Wow. I am somehow continuing to find more and more reason to stay F2P on this game.
Again, that's in the JP version. I'm reluctant to make any assumptions right now on the EN version, considering how balls-insane they've been so far.

Coliseum was fun. These Elite Guard events are definitely not. Even without the bugs.
I'm not really bothered by the pay-to-win aspect of it (although I haven't spent a dime so far), but you'd have to cough up some SERIOUS cash in order to see any kind of benefit for this event. There's not much incentive for throwing 5 or 10 dollars in here or there. Its just way too repetitive and annoying to be worth it.

I saw we got new cards in the normal gacha and got kinda happy...Then I saw it was only a single normal, managed to pull it in my 3rd try so now these 300 odd normal gacha tickets will continue to set here.
On top of that they have new Egacha cards for half two, they have gone about as greedy as they can go. It's pretty safe to say they sealed my wallet from ever spending anything on this game now. Can we just not have EG events anymore? I'd rather just have Coliseum on repeat then this.

You're supposed to have a good chunk of your playerbase tossing in $5-10 every other event or so. Instead they're completely golden goosing it, milking the whales dry and making the casual spenders feel ripped off (thus never getting their money again).
..that's what I don't get.. it's like they have bad accountants or don't understand gambler's psychology.

I also just noticed Akie no longer boost SED anymore, so much for doing anything in this half of the event. I like how they completely fuck you in the hard half of the event.
I laughed pretty hard when I saw you had to beat 300 of these fucking bosses to get the limited SR, mine have 39 million HP, 30 minutes to beat then with no bonus SED anymore.

Random... it's why the potion that lets you run from bosses is there; to use on the non-lightning ones.

I know I speak a lot about the JP version all the time, but that's because the JP version is good. I've actually been willing to go balls-deep P2W in the JP game because it's so far superior to the EN version. It's well-run and they don't continually ask for more money in the second half of an event to keep up the momentum you had in the first. The "we're-not-doing-support-ranking-oh-surprise-now-we-are" rules don't change mid-event, and there's still plenty of opportunity for free players to reap rewards, and in turn, there are many rewards to be reaped.
Not to mention, those rewards are actually worth it. Not this "200,000EP you get three N WCs" bullcrap. Why do I need to put in hours of effort for something that I could buy in about five minutes with the coins obtained from daily pie challenges? Coincidentally, the JP game is also doing an Elite Guard event right now. You know what you get for 200k EP? A stamina power-up. Something that normally requires actual currency to obtain.
I have both versions of PPS running in Chrome tabs right next to each other. I often forget that I'm still on the EN game because I'm just not enjoying it nearly as much. I get that as a low-power F2P player, I'm probably only going to get occasional nuggets of happiness, but the cracks shouldn't be filled in with frustration and constant reminders of the rampant greed.
Or you have lots of whales on your friends list, which is typically how it goes in the JP version. You get a lightning enemy, you smack it once (with or without Sex Drink prior to said smack), then you call in your crew to clean up. Problem is, with the EN version putting up a new set of slayer cards at the front and the old ones getting shoved out the door, there's likely not a whole lot of people who are willing to continue throwing money at the game to become these whales.

Maybe there's a threshold for how much damage you need to do for it to count, or you need to land the last hit
