Attitude (What's your character's attitude like, how do they think, etc.): Valis hails from Venus, a planet made mostly out of acid and carbon monoxide. Terraforming attempts are ongoing, but until then, everyone wears environmental shields and thick protective suits with gasmasks. Being free of the thick suit is why Valis tries to wear minimum on her body, though she feels naked without her mask on.

Valis is fairly quiet and tends to follow others leads in social situations rather than take to her own. However in conflict or danger she becomes very active and agitated, tending to be far more assertive.

Valis' voice comes out muffled and distorted out of the helmet to account for the different audio that comes from a primarily carbon dioxide environment on Venus.

Kanala Exports, a corporation known for finding exotic and rare lifeforms to breed and sell to wealthy collectors, has recently hired a trio of explorers to go and explore a planet catalogued only as Aita-18-1-16-5, and marked as bristling with life and fauna to catalogue.

The trio, which consists of two Humans, Valis and Elisa, as well as a Kitsune, Elena, are currently onboard the shuttle granted to them for this mission by Kanala Exports. Their goals are to land on the planet and catalogue as much of the local wildlife and plant life as possible, and then return with their findings to their contact on a planet a few systems away. Currently, they're on approach to the lush planet, which seems much like earth without all the bristling cities, and the fact that its orbit means its years are four times as long, which makes colonization a non-option.

On entry, the shuttle shakes and jars the three, the autopilot bringing them in for a landing in a large clearing in the middle of what seems to be a forest of tall evergreens. Scans while on approach show that like earth, a third of the planet is water, and countless indigenous lifeforms are scattered all over the multi-biomed planet, though the sensors aren't accurate enough to determine WHAT kind of lifeforms they are.

"Alright you two, we're coming in for a landing for the planet's surface. Everything looks good right now, but... we're getting a bit of turbulence. I can't tell what kinds of lifeforms are out there, but there's definitely a lot of wildlife to be seen. Let's hope we get down in one piece though first," Elena said as their shuttle headed in for landing, the kitsune checking the sensors while the other two maintained the autopilot and whatnot. "And we're coming down according to the computers in the middle of a clearing in the woods. So lots of plant life to check once we land," Elena went on to say as their craft broke through the clouds and came in for the final descent and the landing gear extended out.

Valis watched out the view screens silently, going over what data she could get on the planet from preliminary scans. After all they had to have sent probes initially to find out if it was inhabited in the first place.

Seemed fairly earth like. She could handle otherwise but still good to know. She took a glance at the other two of her companions. Both seemed well armed. A fluff fox and a human. Definitely not a Venusian though. Didn't have the mask.

She hummed a bit. It was the other humans job to gather samples she figured. Her and the fluffbutt probably were on sentry duty. One never knew what sort of predators could arrive on such planets. Hopefully they had been given tranquilisers. Valis didn't want to have to use up some of her medical nanites to have to subdue anything for samples.

When the fluff spoke up, Valis nodded quietly before responding, her voice coming out slightly distorted and high pitched compared to normal to account for the usually lower pitch of a carbon monoxide environment.

"We should make a perimeter around the ship to act as our base, help secure it against unknowns. We don't want to get stranded."

As the three women disembark, a pack of what look like dogs bolt through the forest just behind the treeline, howling as they do so, though they quickly turn away and dart back into the forest. All around the forest's edge near the clearing, they can see signs of life, some more curious than afraid, staring at them. The mission brief warned that the planet was teeming with life, but the three of them probably never expected this much.

One set of eyes in the treeline seems to stand out: A large set of purple-irised eyes, staring at the three women unblinkingly, peers out of a bush. It makes no move to reveal itself beyond stare at them, nor does it make any sound.

Valis glances at Ekisa when she talks. "You have all the scanning equipment. You're on the ground. We'll cover you, not vise versa."

Once the ship was landed, she stepped out, crouching low and gun ready. Teeming was right, she'd never seen a planet so intensely populated. Creatures everywhere.

For now they seemed nervous and not hostile so she held her fire, and waited for the other to make their moves. They'd have to get those walls up asap for certain.

"Aye, looks like we're down alright. Might want to check our atmospheric stabilizers when we get set up though, that was a bit rough coming down and all. A bit too rough. I'll do it though after we get our camp set up," Elena said to Elisa and Valis, checking the computers and everything to make sure the shuttle was on solid ground before they disembarked or anything.

When they opened the doors and stepped out, with Elena deciding to take point, she quickly pulled her shotgun up and aimed at the wolf looking things as they scurried off into the woods. "Whoa, initial scans and our own sensors picked up signs of a lot of life, but I didn't expect this much," Elena said with a sigh as she looked around. When she noticed the one set of purplish eyes though, Elena gasped a bit and motioned at the others to look, though she didn't aim her gun at the thing, since it seemed to be staying there. "What do you think that is?" she asked quietly, nodding towards it.

Unless anything made a move towards them, Elena would help set up a perimeter around the shuttle before getting the tool kit out of the shuttle and checking the atmospheric stabilizers for the shuttle, wanting to make sure they weren't out of whack.

The purple eyes vanish the moment Elise speaks in its direction, a scampering of feet being heard, the creature clearly bipedal, though other than its eyes, they catch no sight of its body.

The shuttle's equipment is all in perfect condition, and functioning well within tolerances. It's big enough to serve as a base in and of itself, and the armor plating will be able to keep the indigenous population from interfering with whatever is inside, as the doors are coded to the three's biometrics. Animals continue to stop and stare, before bounding back off into the forest, the sounds of howling and animalistic screeches echoing all around them, before suddenly falling silent, all movement in the forest having suddenly vanished.

When the creature bounded off while Elena and Valis set up the perimeter walls, Elena looked curiously in the direction they heard it heading off in. It worried her a bit, but there wasn't a whole lot they could do about it unless they wished to hunt it down. She was sure that wasn't the last they had seen of it though. As the animals stared at them, Elena idly wondered if they would attack by chance or if they were just sizing them all up.

"Huh... well it looks like everything is working normally. Maybe it was just the way we came in," Elena said to the others after the perimeter was set up and she checked the ship, looking a bit confused as to why their atmospheric entry was a bit rough and all.

Valis observes the creatures all seeming to scatter. While the ship was a good base, it was good to have an outside perimeter and have the ship a fall back position. It could buy them ample time in case of an emergency.

"Yes, I am trained as a medical professional and demolitions, Elisa. You have the scanner. Your job is to scan. Elena does engineering. But first, we set up a wall around the ship and get a gate set and a stun shock charge on it so we don't have any trouble. If that humanoid thing is from a primitive civilization, we should do so just in case., sighs Valis in her distorted voice.

She went and helped Elena set up the perimeter walls, locking them in securely and setting up the shock current. It'd only stun those who tried to scale it, but it wouldn't be pleasant. Her field let her avoid any electrical hazards fortunately.

Valis looks to have a plan and as Elisa dont had too much part of it she nods. Fine, i will continue scaning, just if i start shooting please come to give me some support, ok?. She said and then put herself at work still a little upset of only being seen as a living scanner.

You know... there are more things than i can do than scan this huge planet step by step, like learn stuff if we work together... i would love to learn some enginering in the space ship, just in case than we require know the work of another of ours members and this is not available. She then proceed to her work, scanning without get away of the ship open wood area

"If it was that simple, we wouldn't need to be here, they'd just send a drone. We need to collect samples. And of course we will come if there is danger. In any case while redundancy would be appropriate, the time it;d take to acquire an engineering degree is several years. Ask Elena though.," says Valis simply.

Once the walls were up and wired she stretched a moment before looking to Elisa. "You should start with getting some soil samples and some grass clippings. You can learn a lot from soil."

The walls are soon set up, and the defenses are prepared. As far as Elena can tell, there's absolutely nothing wrong with the shuttle.

Elisa's scans reveal that the flora in the immediate area carries similar signature to those of plants from Earth, as well as picking up several plants with berries that the scanner deems are perfectly safe to eat. Life signs on the scanner come in as a wide variety of DNA types, all bearing similarities to different breeds of animals from across the galaxy. Dogs, Varren, Pyjaks, monkeys, insects, all of them seem almost like offshoots of the different galactic breeds.

Confused about the shuttle, Elena figured that maybe it was just their angle on descent. Shrugging about it, she went to the others while Elisa scanned the area with her equipment. She stayed close and looked around to keep Elisa covered just in case something flew in at them, their perimeter's only weakness really.

"Yeah, I'm not the best engineer, but it takes years to learn how to really do stuff. I have books on the shuttle though for things if you girls need to make repairs and I'm unable to do so. But I would need a few more years under my belt before I got say... a chief engineer spot, or probably even the chief's second," Elena said, shrugging her shoulders. "Hey, if you two want to head out and explore a bit, I'm up for that, since we got the perimeter set up and all. Besides, can't take many samples stuck here the whole time," she added to the others.

Anyway, i will send now what i get in these rutine scans now, really we maybe could just do this work really fast, as this planet may have the same life of many known planets. She then sended the info gathered to the ship, so the kitsune could store it.

After that the possibility to look far away come and after sigh deeply Elisa nods. Yeah, sure lets just look around and collect some living samples, maybe we could later set some traps or meet sentient kinds. She ended waiting for anyone else than wanted to come with her, as she will never go alone.
