Ugh I m stuck as well now!
How Do I open the door to the catacombs/caves of the dead?
Villagers told me to go there, but now Im probably missing some really obvious switch or something.

in the village... go to blacksmith place...
save the daughter blacksmith.. then he give u the key

Enemies have the most insane invulnerability frames and hitboxes I think I've ever seen in a game from this genre. Undead boss was infuriating.

save the daughter blacksmith.. then he give u the key

where is the blacksmith's daughter? is she back in the cave? I've searched around and I can't seem to find her.

Back in the blacksmith shop. She's being assaulted by a couple zombies.

I'm stuck further ahead. I just killed the demon that was masquerading as king, and the queen had me locked up. After the priestess freed me I ran out of places to go...at least in the castle. I can leave the castle, but the castle itself is still marked as my current quest location.

Any help? Thanks in advance?

When you get freed she'll ask for your help in finding the old man. Right outside of the cell you get freed from there are a couple of other cell doors you can check. It should be the door directly right of the hallway that leads to your cell.
Once you find him the story will progress.

Thank you everyone for helping so much.

It seems like I'm getting near the end so this will probably be my last question. I'm in the giant black tower. I got to the top floor and spoke to the queen through the door, but it didn't open. I thought the solution might be back in the fancy room. There's lots of stuff that the character can interact with. However, the door is still locked. I even checked that blocked off area in the basement, and its still blocked.

If you already examined the diary/bookshelf in the fancy room then you can go down to the basement and check the middle cell. There should be a circular symbol drawn on the wall that you can interact with.
That should move the blocks out of the way.

I've completed the game but didn,t unlock the entire gallery. There's one of the save just right outside the last battle

I'm pretty sure its by seeing the H-action in game (maybe multiple times). After beating the game I still have lots of stuff locked so defeating enemies is not what does it.

I'm not sure what I'm missing... I've infiltrated the castle, killed everything there was to kill opened the chests and talked to everyone... again...
I can't progress on the castle and the flag is still there dafuk...

Its the second option with weapon vendors (castle courtyard and early blacksmith in tiki village). Incidentally it seems that you lose the weapon if you open a box with a full weapon inventory. I don't think you can just discard equipment unfortunately.

so... i fought against the blue queen and after beating her i was sent back to town and the flag is still at the black tower, so is that it? the game is over i've been looking for anything at the tower but nothing happens

Just try to go outside of the main city from the left gate to trigger the ending and credits
