"Overflow has just made its scandalous rock-paper-scissors game “Strip Battle Days” available for purchase, the title originally having been a limited edition extra obtained through pre-ordering their previously released and highly popular eroge “Shiny Days“.
The concept revolves around a simple game of rock-paper-scissors (or jan-ken-pon), where picking correctly results in your School Days girl of choice being forcibly denuded of one item of clothing, or else subjected to some other act of sexual depravity."

Excerpt from SankakuComplex (can't post the link yet, just go there and search if info is needed)

Basically, I've been unable to get this game to run. I've tried all of the applocale/Japanese settings/unicode shenanigans that I could find, and was wondering if anyone could try this out with me.

This game does contain loli, so I will have to PM the link I used. It seems trustworthy enough; downloaded it a while ago and my PC hasn't exploded yet. I've also downloaded some other stuff from the same place without incident.

To elaborate upon my specific issues: after changing the names of the installation folders to something English, attempting to simply open would cause the game to start up before bringing up an error message with a lot of ?????s and the word 'object' thrown around, before closing.

Opening with Japanese locale gives me a different error - also filled with ?????s - with only the file pathway being legible. Clicking ok on this error keeps the game open, but only as a floating toolbar with some clickable icons, which bring up all kinds of command prompt- looking windows.

Using NTLEA actually gets me a game window with Japanese on the toolbars (as opposed to ?????), but the game stops responding almost instantly.

Using Windows 8 with Japanese language settings and such doesn't change a darn thing.

Thus ends my story. If anyone wishes to brave these waters, or has a better download link available, post a message or send me a PM or whatever, and we can talk over a nice drink.

I don't have it and is on windows 7, but one thing you can try it change your location to Japan,Tokyo so your time and everything switches over, some games have it so if your time zone doesn't match theirs the game will crash/not work at all. :)

Re: Strip Battle Days

What exactly did you download? I got this a few weeks ago (can't remember where from) as an iso; just mounted it, installed it, and it works perfectly (I am in Japanese locale, though). I imagine it might have an error if you simply downloaded a zipped up file of the pre-installed version, though - see if you can find the original iso to download.

As for the game itself, it seems somewhat biased - in that I didn't manage to lose any battle the first time I played. Still got lots of scenes to unlock, though.

I also have the iso but the issue that the shown scene is too small, I am only seeing 1/10th of the girl and not the whole body. Did you do anything else but installing it and running it with japanese applocale?

Re: Strip Battle Days

Did you extract it whilst in japanese locale or did you change locale after extracting, because that's probably your problem. You should always be using japanese locale if you ask me.

Re: Strip Battle Days

You were right, I extracted it with applocale and now it is working perfectely fine, thank you! Yes, I usually run all games with applocale, but I do not necessarily extract them with it too(which is fine 99% of the time).

edit: is this game uncensored btw. i know jast usually de-censors the games they translate, but since this one is a bonus game. they might leave it as it is.

Re: Strip Battle Days

The download I got was an ISO (as well as a matching MDS file; don't know what it is exactly but it seems to work the same as the ISO).

I'll try extracting with applocale, I guess. Annoyingly, that means redownloading the whole thing :(

Guess I'll keep you guys posted. Thanks for the replies!

Er, so, uh, how does one go about extracting with AppLocale? I usually use it by just right-clicking the program, but no AppLocale options show up with winrar, and trying to open winrar by itself in Japanese locale gives me an error saying

"(filepath to winrar.exe)
The archive is either in unknown format or damaged."

You have to start Winrar with Applocale.
Go to Start>Programs>Microsoft AppLocale and select the WinRar Process as application to run, than select Japanese language.

If it does not function with winrar, try 7zFM (same procedure as above).

Re: Strip Battle Days

Or you could just change system locale to japanese instead of using applocale, and never have these problems ever again. Does anyone even bother reading the FAQ? It's the second thread in the list, and the problem for japanese games is the first one answered, so it's really hard to miss.

Story time!

tl;dr got it working, thanks a bunch for the help, guys.

My AppLocale was janking up for some reason, so I uninstalled it. Redownloaded and tried to reinstall but the installer was also janking up. Figured out how to change system locale internally (another website gave me directions on how to "change the system locale" but it seems to have been for something completely different with language packs  ) and all is good - even got another game working with that step.

Any chance I could get a PM to the game as well, if anyone has a link to it going? :)

Re: Strip Battle Days

Final roadblock here - I'm missing two CGs.

Both on the final gallery page, I'm missing the second-row-far-right and the third-row-far-left. I've tried all of the forking dialogue paths as far as I know.

Re: Strip Battle Days

Try using the mushroom (i.e. penis) on either of the girl's mouths, then you'll get an option for a blowjob scene depending on which one you picked. As for me, I have quite a few that I'm still missing, but it seems to just be the hidden girls that sometimes appear, and I'm not completely sure how to trigger their appearance just yet.

Anyway, I found a copy of the game and I think I have it running without the need to install it (stupid installer kept giving me errors for some reason) - I'll have it uploaded by tomorrow, as mega keeps giving me errors when I try right now and I don't have time to wait. Feel free to message me if you want the link - just be aware that you probably won't get it for at least another 12 hours or so. Oh, and it'll have my save with most of the CGs unlocked, but you can easily delete it if you want a fresh slate - not that I'd recommend just looking at the CGs, anyway, as you're missing out on the voice acting and animation.

And that'll do it! Thanks a ton, I'd have never tried that myself.

does anyone still remember the steps to get all the CGs? I can only ever go so far as the groping scenes of a character, but I could never get to the second CG of that character. do I need to clear all of the characters once then do it again or?
