Re: Dark Star

IMHO, 17.64$ for what this game had to offer is a little too much ...
I know the engine where the game was built in is awesome and the graphics are quite nice and unique, but... there could be much more work put into the game.
It's not a bad start for a new circle, but won't get many fans if the prices shoot out like this, lol.

I also know that DLSite has a really high fee on hosting games on their portal, but as we've been witness along the way, there's plenty of alternatives to share games and get income from it.

im guessing the price was high in the first game to aliviate some of the expenses the engine costs, at least if they already have the license, the next games should be more elaborate

Re: Dark Star

What do you need for the game a 32bit or a 64bit System?

I don't know why, I have a 32bit System and it won't run.

This is one of those games where it might be sexier without sound on.

Not because the voices are Oneone QUALITY, but because cumming sounds like wet farts.

Re: Dark Star

Just by looking at the first picture. It looks like they are trying to capitalize on the side-scrolling genre, which, is actually a very good choice for H-games. However, it looks like the animations for H will be nice, but the gameplay will not be...

Re: Dark Star

Okay guys listen, I hate being a kill joy and I know we've already shared the 64-bit version, but let's not share the 32-bit version around...

I e-mailed the guy explicitly asking him for the 32-bit demo, and he gave me the full game anyway.

Just thought I'd throw it out there.

My opinion on the game itself:
Gameplay is a bit toooo steady, but if you're patient it shouldn't be a problem. Seemed difficult at first, but once I got used to the game it was moderate it terms of challenge, especially since enemies that grab you vanish afterwards. Animation was good, though a little awkward looking at times. A lot of it had to do with the facial expressions, though some did have awkward movement.

Not a bad game.

Yeah, I also though the animation was a little awkward at times. Too clunky, needs more frames.

Re: Dark Star

Game relies WAY to much on platforming for level design. It wouldn't be bad if movement was faster or more precise or if spawning enemies on scroll knocked you out of the air so you have to start over since there aren't checkpoints.

I think they showed their hand too early by introducing all but 1 enemy in the first stage. That, and the final boss, but I have no idea what the final boss looks like since the last level is a huge pain in the ass and those enemies that shoot shotgun blasts stun lock you to death.
It's better than a lot of games out there, but it's still in the lower end of average. Animations are decent and change as the scene goes on for most enemies, but there are only 3 or 4 positions the character takes. They missed a huge opportunity to not have some sort of swarm animation for those little enemies that just explode on you. Could have had a situation where an enemy occupies a different portion of the body the longer the animation continues.

Definitely not worth $17 but I kinda hope it does well enough for the developer to try again and improve upon what he has as it could have potential.

An update that includes checkpoints would be huge.

Also, looking through the data file I see files for 3 more levels. Probably can expect an update eventually. Hopefully there will be more enemies.

Re: Dark Star

Have to say, very disappointing. Pretty impressive art for H-game, but man does the gameplay of this game suck. This many platforms are pretty annoying, and what's more the jumping mechanism is retarded. And since all you do is essentially jump, it makes the game very frustrating. But good art though, although feel very lazy, made a few gif and repeat. No detail or anything.

Re: Dark Star

Inconsistency of a character's clothing kinda kills it for me.
She's wearing a shirt with a skirt, but as soon as she's grabbed - she's suddenly naked! If you fight off the monster - she suddenly puts on a pair of panties, but if she had an orgasm - she loses her shoes. What the actual buck?

Re: Dark Star

How do you beat the diamond shaped boss?
Just keep blasting him with the wave gun and he should turn into a fireball once dead. You need to either keep moving or ducking.

I'd honestly give this game a solid 8.5, maybe up to 9 if it were some minor things worked out. I'm okay with no save and checkpoints; that adds to the challenge IMO. It was one of the few games I did play to the end (along with Xenotake, Parasite in City, etc).

Wish there was a story. Seems like a space/otherworld game so I would have loved to see her in a space suit or something (school girl outfit, what?). Looking forward to a few more updates with some more enemies if he does them.

Bottom line is it's worth a buy at $7-8, but with another 2-3 enemies and levels, it's be one of h-platformer greats.
