So got an email saying deadline is coming soon and then realizes consecutive holidays are coming up, mentioning of another email to customers could be another delay?

The 'consecutive holidays' are 21st-23rd, hence the dates I gave (although I should have made clear that after the 23rd meant 24th and onwards). Depending on when the game was submitted, these could cause a delay. Worst case would be if the game was submitted during these holidays, as that would mean it was part of a glut of unexamined games.

I suspect the game may have been submitted yesterday (given the demo update), but I'm not certain on that. Oh well, we'll find out sooner or later.

Also related: I've finished updating/translating all the maps in the new demo; just need to check them for errors etc. I believe that the maps in the demo constitute a fair amount of Act 2, so there will be a fair amount of translated content available on Day 1.

After the "BFish" debacle I've given up on trying to be perfectionist about thread titles
That said, if we have concensus on a better, shortish title, sure, I can update it, I think.

On release days: If they have any sense, I'd expect dlsite to have some pre-scheduled releases that automatically update over the holidays,
or failing that a giant content dump ahead of it.
Holidays means people with free time and money to spend, they'd be silly not to take advantage of that.
But that's likely what all the deadline business is about - if you want your stuff to get released over the holidays,
you need to make it through the content review process ahead of time, especially since there's likely more demand.
So I suspect dlsite sets a deadline to content creators, then sends their reviewers on a death march to get it all done,
set up a schedule for the holidays, and then head out to an onsen and not come out for a week.

Hm. That said, I just checked on their twitter, they mentioned getting through examination but sending in an old build by accident.
That said, considering there's no real content differences to the older build, they shouldn't need re-examination, so a release is scheduled for this friday (?)
They're a little scared of a mountain of bug reports coming in and having to keep working at full speed, but we'll see.
I do wonder if the holiday will mean no fast bug updates for the week, or if dlsite keeps up a skeleton crew to feed those into the system...

So, as an addendum to the CrazyPerson's last post, and hopefully an end to all speculation,

. Release date set for the 18th - which is Friday (as CrazyPerson mentioned) obviously. But this confirms the updated build did make it through. Also the tweet is in English, so people shouldn't have any hard time believing it.

I take pride in being right on the "not 22nd" camp.

@CrazyPerson: I think the consensus is around the "Virgin's Protection Magic" title. Or at least, because that's what I'm using in my translation, it's the de facto English title. I suppose we'll see what the de jure title is when the game gets released on English DLSite. Also on, the subject of DLSite release policies, rather than having staggered releases throughout a holiday period, it makes more sense to get all games out before the holiday period (as this maximises the time for each game to be on sale). Or at least, that's my take.

Well, whatever. As celebration, I've released the v4 translation patch. For those who have had the wool over their eyes, it can be applied to the demo or the full game, and will translate all Items/Weapons/Armors/Skills/UI as well as the majority of dialogue up until the end of Act 2 in the full game.

It's a big if, but if I have time I'll release a V5 version. The differences for the V5 version will be it inserting some custom scripts to allow a companion translator program to do better machine translations than would be possible with a simple text hook. But given that I've got only a couple of days to do this, it's a pretty big ask to get all of that done.

Oh, not complaining. Some things need to be said twice, and I've got a whiny-sarcastic persona to maintain here. (Incidentally, I'm also seriously looking at doing a translation of Rune's Pharmacy, but I need some more things implemented in RPGMaker Trans before this becomes a realistic possibility)

One of these days I need to figure out a way to perhaps use the .txt-file-upload thingy on google translate with placeholders to efficiently translate small bulk batches,
then perhaps I can contribute a rpgmaker trans knob to pre-fill the translation segments with machine translations of some description,
to give people with zero actual japanese knowledge a leg up in creating patches...

Sweeeet, it'll be out this week, and at least half translated (thanks habisain!). I'm hoping there's more sexual attacks though, I didn't see any new ones that weren't QTE... Still be great anyway.

Um, because my knowledge of Japanese is quite shaky a lot of the time (I can do the grammar+kana+gana, but my knowledge of kanji is poor) I've actually already done that (well, using ATLAS and some fancy preprocessing). The tool I've got isn't really ready for external consumption though - it's a horrifically hacked together mess to get things to work under Linux through Wine. Is there a market for this kind of thing though? Because I'd be happy enough to try and integrate it in some form to RPGMaker Trans (although probably the next major version).

There's a fair number of new QTEs/animated H-attacks. I won't go into specifics, but there are 5 positions for Brigit in the H-attacks, each with a variety of actual things happening to her. Also if we're talking percentages, I estimate that the game will be about 20% translated (although I'll refine this figure when the game does come out).

I'm sure cheering you on! I think I speak for most of us (if not all) when I say we appreciate it. It makes these good RPGs much more enjoyable when you can actually read the text.

Yeesh. Not a fan of the "official" title, but it looks like that translation has been handled by DLSite Eng rather than Searothonc (as Brigit's name has been transliterated from the Japanese version rather than the using the actual English name). EDIT: Also I just noted that Searothonc tweeted that it was translated by DLSite.

In any case, given that the game is named after a spell in the game, where the 'official' title will make no grammatical sense (well, I suppose the spell could be named "Purity Protection", but I have my suspicions on how the story will go and I suspect that this alternate name would also not make much sense...), I've got no intention on changing my translation.

Also CrazyPerson updated the thread title to the de facto one already. So Virgin's Protection Magic it is!

now i wonder if i should learn Japanese after i finish learning english..... hmmm

too many "goodies" in this language i feel like im getting half the experience in most of the games on this language
