Re: Crisis Point: Extinction - Metroidvania H-game - NEW PUBLIC UPDATE! (Oct. 25th)

Thanks! I don't want to spoil the enemy plans I have, but I'm confident you won't be disappointed. I don't want to rip off Parasite in the City with the insect animation like that, but eh.. Not like there's a law against similar animations. The pose is definitely hot.
Yes! think im sold already! :p
Ah yeah of course i just thought about the most common way for it to happen actually based on various other games/stuff like lab:sa or HOTB etc
naturally being caught unaware/with her guard down and defenceless
oh and yup that one its pretty hot aswell

There aren't actually that many ways that you can put a weiner in a vagoogly.

Pretty sure you can't copyright "standing rear-entry penetration".
I just didn't want to upset anybody, that's all. Some might be disappointed in the similarity between scenes, and I know the PiC creator hangs out on these forums, so I didn't want him to think I was ripping him off. I'll probably go with the scene anyway. Not like I'm gonna be copying his sprites anyway.

dat vagoogly, tho.

@tea leaf - *puts on sunglasses* Luck is for the weak, and those without SICK DANCE MOVES *starts playing DDR*
(but really, thank you kind person)

@Chouun90 - Glad to hear it! It's always good to know people are looking forward to this :)

I'd have to say, after all the games I'm working on, this is the next in line for "how much I want a game to get completed", pretty awesome stuff in the demo, wish I could help out with it somehow but you got everything pretty much covered :p

Aw <3 Well if I ever need any of your skills, I know where to look!

As far as when the game will be completed, your guess is as good as mine. I obviously have an end-goal in mind for Crisis Point, but development is still too early to tell how far away that is - plus, if the demand for it is high enough, it's certainly possible for me to extend the amount of content planned for the game later on.

In other news, update time! I know there haven't been many updates lately, but that would be largely because the last Patreon release is a bit smaller due to all the ridiculous stuff popping up last month.

Anyhoo, without getting too terribly distracted, here's a screenshot from the new area. Welcome to the Summit!

The Summit is jam-packed with ruins, floating platforms, and surprisingly advanced technology, only one of which is visible in this screenshot. Between cramped indoor corridors and vast, open areas, there's plenty to see. Just not in this coming update. There's not much to see yet.

Re: Crisis Point: Extinction - Metroidvania H-game - NEW PUBLIC UPDATE! (Oct. 25th)

It's certainly come along way since I tried the first build. I apologize if this was already discussed earlier in one of the walls of text, but what possibility is there for a stretch goal to include Game Over CGs like Kurovadis, Dash, or Unholy Sanctuary, or even animated Game Over scenes like Witch/Shinobi Girl, Parasite in City, or Iris Action? As much as I liked Lab: Still Alive, I felt Game Over CGs of greater detail would have added to its appeal even further seeing as some of the better details can be left out of pixel animations.
You have my Patronage as it is, and I love for it to eventually go toward something like that after you've finished laying the groundwork for all of your monsters and level design.

I'd love to add CGs, if possible. I'm not much of an artist myself, so if I want to add them I'll definitely be paying somebody, and that'll only happen if I can save up enough to pay for high-quality work. I'm a bit of a perfectionist, lol. In any case, it's something I'll be thinking about more later on. I'd also like to mention they wouldn't be given on death - rather, they'd be given to the player upon being raped by an enemy for the first time. I want to avoid rewarding death if I can.

Thanks for your interest! I'm glad you enjoy the project!

Am I mistaken in remembering you saying that the turquoise background is a placeholder until your background artist situation is figured out?

Because boy is turquoise a kinda... I'm not even gonna try to explain it because I'm pretty sure you said it was a placeholder, but I don't like it at all.

You mean the sky in the background? Yeah, it's a placeholder. I'm working with a background artist now, but we don't have a parallax background for the Summit yet. The sky color will probably be relatively similar to what it is now, but there will be stuff there instead of just flat color, and it'll be touched up and improved for the final release, of course.

Re: Crisis Point: Extinction - Metroidvania H-game - NEW PUBLIC UPDATE! (Oct. 25th)

hey if you need an artist, i'm your man. i do it for free to boot. i use to be the artist for resident evil progeny but that dude stopped updating and contacting me so i decided not to waste my good will and time in helping him if he doesn't even bother to acknowledge me.

here is 4 pieces of work i did for him that he has yet to even use in his game but i did submit them.

my favorite artist is sei shoujo of starless and discipline so i go for that kind of approach.

and yes, i do do monsters, tentacles and bestiality. so far i have only ever drawn dogs though. i don't really like watersports / golden showers or scat and i can do guro if it's in good taste. as in cuts and damage if it's not going with guys spilling guts and smashing.

last picture was from a visual novel i was working on but i dropped since i started college almost soon after.

Urban dictionary, "Vagoogly is not defined, care to define it?"

You best get on it Textbook! People need to understand the true meaning of vagoogly. :D

On a more serious note, like the new area! Lookin' good.

Hey. Great looking game, and thanks a bunch for all the updates. Those animations look great, and I'll be looking forward to the finished product. If you don't mind me asking, any idea when you will release the game or another demo? On an unrelated note, its awesome that you are communicating as often as you do, that's something a lot of developers could learn from you.

Thanks! I'm really glad you're enjoying the game so far. As far as communication, it's honestly one of my favorite parts of the job. Can't imagine developing in silence, lol.

As for your question about release dates - I don't have one for the game itself. It's still too early to nail down any sort of window for a full release - making a game, especially when most of it is made by one guy, lol. However, new demos release on the 25th of every month! There's also my Patreon campaign, which has earlier updates (the beginning of the month) for a $10/m donation. Either way, everybody gets the same updates, so no need to donate if you can't/don't want to!

@YummyTiger - Thanks! My background artist did a pretty good job setting up the Ruins. I just wish I had time last update to incorporate more areas to explore into it. It's rather small in v.05.

@dartred - Thank you for the offer! I'm not worrying about CGs yet, but I'll keep you in mind for when I am.

I know I'm getting ahead here again, but Lustfire as a CG artist would be a great choice imo

I've thought about him, but his art style is a bit too.. cute? At least from what I saw in Azurezero's game. To be fair, I haven't seen much of his stuff, but from the little I have seen I'm not sure it really fits the style. If anybody has links to his other work, though, I'd be happy to take a look and reconsider.

I'm also toying with the possibility of hiring an animator like Drgnpnch or Noill to do animated CGs, but.. that would seeeriously depend on how much money it would cost, and if they'd even be willing to do commissions. There are lots of enemies planned, which translates to a lot of CGs and subsequently a massive hole in my wallet. It all comes down to what I can or can't afford. I'd rather go CG-less than use something that doesn't match up to my standards, though.

Re: Crisis Point: Extinction - Metroidvania H-game - NEW PUBLIC UPDATE! (Oct. 25th)

I think as far as sprite animations go, your game still has quite a bit of potential. I was thinking about the situation with Azurezero and, not trying to offend or insult his games by any means, but when I think back to my experience with Dash!, it was Lustfire's CGs that I remembered most. You certainly don't want a case where your gameplay is just in the way of unlocking the CGs and the merit of your game is judged solely on what can be seen in the gallery.
So yes, I agree that CGs and GO animations should be put on the backburner so you can do everything you want to do with your base game to make the game itself stand out in the best of ways.

Oh and I guess Lustfire's stuff is kinda cute. I did try to imagine your heroine as drawn with his style but perhaps with a different filter or something or more shading and I think it could work. He's got some new art up in his art thread with some concepts for a new Azure game and the protag has a more fierce look to her. I really wish he would make a hentai foundry account or something.

I'm very likely not going to be involved in multiple projects as an artist, but I might take a quick jab at an artwork based on your character (if you're okay with H-CG if I manage to think of one). I think observing the interpretation of another designer is a great source of influence.

As for my "cute" style.. well.. that's a bit of an innocent consequence.. hehe. But Azure's ideas can still be more childish compared to my suggestions, so I end up with that style. >.>

It'd definitely be cool to see your take on the game! I found a little bit of work you had elsewhere, and it certainly seems like you could pull something off that fits the Crisis Point style. All I had to reference was the art in Dash!, which is definitely not the style I'd be looking for :p Still, if you want to give it a shot, be my guest! I'd love to see it.

@PM21 - Certainly, I wouldn't want the CGs to become the focus. That's precisely why I'm not worrying about it too much yet. Crisis Point is just as much game as it is porn, after all. Thanks for the heads up about Lustfire's thread though, I didn't even know about it - I'll take a look!

I've mentioned this before, but my influence of Eastern design is apparent enough. I'm curious if you do have a preference outside of your own art style and capabilities.

Leaving this before I go back and play Smash.

Hot damn, man, that looks great! I knew you were a talented artist, but I hadn't seen enough of your stuff to know what to expect in this particular style. I like the eastern influence you have going on; if I had any complaints, it would be that her hair is a tad messier than I'd like. I absolutely love the look in her eyes, though. It's spot on.

As far as my personal preference, I'm not much of an artist outside of spriting, but I think I'd lean towards eastern as well. I enjoy both types of character design, but I like the sleek, stylish approach eastern art tends to go for.
