I've played this version for a few days now, ironing out a few bugs along the way so hopefully it's a bit more stable. Main new stuff from last post is that I've tidied up some translations and added translation for the shop window in the Gastronomicon so that you can see your current supplies.

Also, I've added a simple debug feature, see the readme for details. At the moment, it's limited to altering a few basic stats on your character, on your slave and you can set your current wealth. I'll look at adding more detailed features as they are requested.

EDIT: My bad, I have to use the normal bat and not the english one for it to work.

If my game do not show half of pictures (just small ? Frame on top) in report or events or shops, or tattoos (half of end/start day don't have pictures and also half of shop, etc) it's normal right?

I believe it's due to miss addressing path of file name (like my com can't read Russian and turn it into moonrune). Or I didn't download complete edition? (only download the PM and eng patch).

It's quite annoying since some of those reports are in Russia and I don't know what it's trying to tell me such as if my slave is sick or preg or something bad is starting.

Keep doing the stats-related action.
click on stats in your char. menu and it will tell you what action increase it.
But I don't know how to raise some red stats since you can't really teach the slave with that level.

Ex.
You teach slave cooking, your butler skill will improve too. (but way slower than your slave).

But I don't know how

On the latest patch, what I have to do to be able to 'rent' house??? in story mode, the requirement said something about D but I think it's not related to what I need to do to rent the hose.

The latest version I put out is set so that new houses unlock based on your fame level. You should be able to raise this fairly quickly to level 1 by training a few slaves to D or C grade. The house in the Outcast Quarter should then unlock. In the meantime, you shouldn't suffer as much of a penalty from the slum house as previously. The rationale for this is as follows:

The original code seems to be set so that houses in each district unlock based on your faction standings with the houses that own each of the quarters, with the White Town house being the only one which is unlocked by your character's fame. The thing is, it's never really made clear how you get involved in the house storyline and at the current stage of translation it's hard to figure it out. You could quite conceivably get a fair ways through the game without even knowing about the factional stuff. Or maybe I'm just playing it wrong.

Also, the whole system seems incomplete: the game defaults by giving you free level one reputation in the Quarter of the Bull or the Serpentine Quarter so you can buy that house. Even with the faction fame working though, there doesn't seem to be any real variation between houses, other than cosmetic things and the relative cost.

The current setup is there as a stop gap measure until either I or (more likely) the Russian patch team fleshes out the faction stuff (and Monceber translates it). The changes to the houses themselves reflect better houses having better built in facilities (at a relatively lesser cost than if you were to add these facilities to a cheaper house), which will hopefully make upgrading houses a bit more of a gameplay thing and less of a cosmetic thing.

That's just my thoughts, I admit I've only really scratched the surface of the game so by all means point out anything I've missed.

With respect to the missing images: the only one I can think of is to do with the vaginal ball rule being implemented in the patch. There seems to be code to display an image, but the actual image wasn't included since the function was never implemented in the original game. The only other issue was the lack of bathroom and kitchen backgrounds in the slum house (since the original slum house has neither of those things), but the images included in the patch should address that. Otherwise, as far as I'm aware I haven't touched any of the other 'end of day' images. If you're finding that one particular message is missing an image, that's probably it. If you're finding a whole bunch of different messages are not displaying images, then I've probably fucked something up.

Ugh... apologies for being absent for quite a bit of time - had a RL stuff going on. That's the reason I'm on a slow pace with translation. I'm almost done with GitHub and merging stuff, and if everything goes well I'll be able to put next version this weekend (at least I really hope to do so :( ).
take your time man you have no obligation to us to translate this

It isn't entirely clear what symptoms/problems you're experiencing. Here are some descriptions of possible problems, along with followup suggestions:
  • "Images appear in the UI, but 50% or more of the image is cropped out (or obscured by an inappropriate frame appearing in the foreground). There are big gaps in the images, or corners are inexplicably cut off."
    • The game code generates HTML on-demand, so it is not possible to damage an HTML "template" file and thereby cause weird graphical behaviour. You'd need to introduce HTML errors into dozens of separate code files, and it's very unlikely that someone would do so accidentally.
    • The file paths are all in English (Latin characters) so we can rule out language conflicts.
    • The character artwork and events/scenes are in JPEG and GIF (with alpha-transparency); these are well-established and highly standard formats. PNG is used for a few UI elements, but it's unlikely to cause conflicts. We can probably rule out "graphics drivers" as the source of the problem.
    • The game UI (including embedded images) performs full-window scaling, so it shouldn't be possible to generate weird cropping behaviour, even if you play with an unusual window size.
    • Best guess: there's some kind of HTML rendering error.
    • Resolution: wait until the image-display problem occurs, then use the main menu [Other > Show html] command to create an output file. Copy-paste it here, along with a screenshot of the game (showing the misformatted image).
  • "Images appear correctly in the UI, but for 50% of actions I don't see any artwork of the character or action. All I can see is the background image."
    • This is (probably) normal. The game does not have artwork for all activities. In a few cases, scenes which are supposed to show special artwork (e.g. xenoparasite chestburster) will show nothing, because the game attempts to lookup a special version of the image (e.g. a chestburster image showing a redheaded girl) but the specified file does not actually exist.
    • Resolution: report it as a bug. Include a screenshot of the slave character (or the filename - such as "528_black_red.gif" - if you know which one it is). At a minimum, tell us the color of the girl's hair and eyes (this helps us to narrow down the candidate list). The translators can probably find the line of code which refers to the missing file, and fix it. It will probably be considered a low-priority fix, though.
  • "Images appear normally. In a few cases, I get a small image which appears in the center of the window (instead of stretching to fill the available space) and most of the screen is black (or white)."
    • This is normal. Some of the game images are low-resolution, and they would look very bad if stretched to fill the entire space. The developer chose to keep them small. He could have superimposed the small image over the background image (e.g. shop, street, dungeon) but perhaps he was worried that the image would clash with the background or look silly.
    • Resolution: none. This is not a bug. It's possible to modify the HTML so that images will always be stretched, but I think that it would be a bad idea.

Can I confirm that you downloaded the full game off the original author's blog? My file is a patch only. For what it's worth, I use the updated images provided in the first post of this thread, but I don't think that affects it.

First, I didn't download from author blog. (both link on top gave 'file not found' and 'website not available').

Here are the screen shot of what happen.

1st one without small ? box is end of day report (I think it's only 'good morning message without any picture to begin with').
2nd is the 'fluffy glove'
3rd is 'vagina bean' Here is what interesting, with some slave it's small blue ? box on the top of screen, but with some slave, it's completely blank like 1st
4th is brand tattoo.

I think it's in 2nd? catalog of image problem?
