Re: Aegis Thousand Year War - DMM Online Game

Finished rough translations for all of the maps (though the drop # for magic crystals isn't known yet).

Got 3-stars on the last map based on this strategy by . I combined Carrie and Themis, and just placed Brynhildr Dahlia on the bottom-left entrance, and had her break everything's spine with her bandit-like strength until the last aura black demon and ancient monster showed up (you really need to let that black demon pass so you can catch the ancient demon so it can't reach your support units). With Artemis Nanaly's help, High Princess Lilia destroyed everything at the bottom-right entrance (I didn't even need to have her activate Excalibur).

Since it looks like I'm safe for this event, I fed 3 of my 5 emergency platinum armours to Immortal Princess Karma, so she's level 80. Hopefully she doesn't require any orbs or units that I don't have on hand (I may feed Happy to her depending on the benefits of having her at AW99).

The new feng shui user is クルル (Kururu), which is used for Krul and Krull mainly. However, it's also the name of a protagonist from Final Fantasy V, whose name was localised as Krile. Since FFV had Feng Shui Warrriors (Geomancers/Elementalist) as a class, maybe the gold feng shui user is based off Krile as well.

The mage armour class in this game is based off Fire Emblem; that series had classes with the same kind of name scheme (i.e. Sword Armour, Axe Armour, etc.). I was initially confused because trying to research mage armour gives me results for an old D&D spell called mage armour (which a lot of Japanese RPGs also use).

Meme is so fucking useful on blind runs. Her skellies are so nice early game when you want to block off paths but you're not sure where enemies will be coming from the most. My favorite unit in a long time, I hope one day she'll get an awakening.

Yeah. Not to mention she has a cheap deploy cost and long range with high attack power.

Mhh got a little bit lucky and gained Eliza and a copie of Hayate

As for CCed Units, you mean if the unit is at Lvl 50 and you CC she has higher stats as if i would CC at Lvl 30?

Also i guess cause you promote Memento so much i schould use her (lvl up)
even trough i only managed to get her to 3/10 >.<

How the stat difference works is that when you class-change, you keep all of the stats from the levels you gain. So units with good stat growth will carry over a larger difference of stats.

For example, if you are level 30 and have an HP of 1000, you will carry over that 1000 HP to your new class. If you level up to 35 so you have 1050 HP before you class-change, your unit will carry over that 1050 HP.

The reason you do 50CC is mainly because the HP, AT, and DF of enemies are not always flat numbers, and it's hard to predict where the damage thresholds are where you can receive one more blow or defeat an enemy in one less hit.

Memento's skill just buffs her skeletons. Her stats are pretty good, though having her cheap-to-deploy makes her more competitive with the dps lord witches. If you're using her skeletons as one-use lightning rods, then not having her at a high skill level isn't going to hurt you too much. A lot of the units in this game have multiple uses. Getting skill-ups or cost-downs just make it so you can use the unit for a wider variety of situations, but it's not the end of the world if you just have something like a -1 cost-reduced Warlock Odette (39 to deploy).

I think the new witch gets attack power and slow duration from skill couldn't understand what it does because google translated 鈍足 to donashi which means nothing to me babylon says it means slow motion.

I hope they let karma steal health with her AW ability or something so shes not only good for 13~ seconds

Yes, it is increased slow down (donzoku, lit. slow feet).

Her skills are boring... she should be able to cast a mini blizzard for global slow down (u get the reduced range too). That would be cool XD

It's more or less situational and it depends on your team, but Belinda is overall better because range increase will always be better (unless it's an attack speed buff). Eliza would be useful for slowing down bosses. The duration of the skill isn't long, but it is enough to slow down difficult enemies before it can reach the main group.

I'm going to be leveling Eliza up because I can finally save platinum fairies and feed copies to her with fairies after I CC her, which will help her get higher level faster. I can't do this with Belinda so she'll end up around 50CC20~40 once I do CC her. I never really saved copies of event units before because I lacked unit space until recently. I just really want a high level witch so I can one day get started on the challenge quest that requires multiple witches.

This week's 100/2 looks rough. I've never seen Nasu Games use so many awakened units before lol. Kinda making me want to AW Claire and Maribelle. The 4 block really doesn't seem to be hurting her much and dat HP. Love her sprite too.

Grats! She is a cutie.

Not sure if you mean always better for witches or always better in general here. Witches and mages can use range extension fairly well since they ignore defense, but not having an attack buff skill on low attack physical units can be dreadful (Unless you know there won't be any armored units). There also seems to be a lot more enemies with magic defense than there used to be, gotta watch for that too.

woah hadnt noticed the skeletons from the necromancer girl xDU

seems like a good momentary defence for hard maps xD also fun to use (just checked they can die without counting as a dead unit)

Re: Aegis Thousand Year War - DMM Online Game

I'm more or less leaning towards in general, but it also depends on the class of the unit. I haven't really felt any impact with them recently other than using them to kill dragons and red gargoyles. Calliope, even with 4/5 skill, just feels like pure utility over DPS at the moment and I never really notice her unless she's killing an enemy with high defense such as the slime in this event or dragons and gargoyles. Honestly, it might be the demons in the desert maps making my opinions of them worse because of their very high magic resist. Because of that, it made my witches (only Calliope and Nenya are CC'd at this time) feel useless for anything other than their slow. I will take a second look once I try out both Belinda and Eliza though I am still heavily favoring Belinda for utility because I just want to see her be able to snipe units from a range farther than her base range. Once I do have a high level Eliza, then I will make a better judgement over what I have said now.

I think Eliza is going to be an interesting witch I still need to see the max level stats for AW but if we consider the pre-AW stats we can assume that inside a blizzard effect she has almost the same attack power that the black witch and she isn't affected by the range reduction so she'll be handy on new maps.

yeah its the high defense units where the witches really shine for me it was impossible for me to beat alot of event maps and if its phalanx2 your trying to beat on the challenge maps I think you should be able to beat that already with 2 cced witches even 1 really if the 2nd one is lvled some too.

Thanks for the update.

Also quick question to anyone who knows, if you reduce the cost of a unit before awakening will it transfer over? I wanted to tell my friend it was yes but honestly I haven't done it so I can't be certain.

Re: Aegis Thousand Year War - DMM Online Game

@Moonchaos - do not worry too much about those units. They will make good food once you start leveling their copies properly. Sooner or later you will get new copies of the gold units you have CCed early. I think Imeria is the only one which is lost, but hey, one day her revival will come as well.

Also - agreeing with Petite, that low skill level for Memento isn't that much of a problem. Moreover you can always feed her with rainbow fairies later on, when you will start stockpiling them.

@cloudsora - Yes, cost reduction carries over all transformations. Cost reduction can always be performed whenever possible, without risk of screwing anything up (well, other than the fact that it usually comes with skill increase as well, which don't always carry through first CC. However, so far no unit changes her skill during AW).

@Elsa - She has slightly lower base stats than Belinda (40 less attack at lvl 70), but she has a damage increasing cooldown. She can be the strongest damage dealer aginst high armor for players without premium witches, with an added bonus from being occasionally even more awesome on snow maps (don't think that will play role often). Maybe Memento is in competition for that spot, but I don't know what her ASPD is yet.

@All

I have recently run some simulations to compare DPS of ranged units, so while this might seem quite obvious, here is food for thought.

1)Spica is still awesome, best non-premium ranged unit in game. Her higher attack speed contributes a lot to this.
2)Archers in general are the most versatile ranged damage dealers. With increased level cap from AW (and other goodies) they can now generally outperform witches against medium armor enemy (200-300, red armors, red Onis, Fat mummies, black armor, etc.)
3)Pirates, as it is known, suck. Against low def enemies they have too low attack speed, against medium armor(~200) they are still outperformed by strong archers, against extremely high armor they are still inferior to witches. They are only useful during skill activation.
4) Vampire hunters are surprisingly strong (though they are late bloomers). In 0-100 def range, which covers most trash mobs, Fran can easily outperform Spica. However, once they start attacking something with def higher than their attack, they become almost useless.
5) Tactician Ren doesn't have terrible damage, once her level is high enough. Against 0 def enemies she is on par with Spica, and against 50 def deosn't fall too far behind. She has archer-tier attack speed, giving her good granularity. Again however, once the enemy has more def than her attack, she becomes terrible.
6) Witches do generally bad damage to anything except high armor targets. Once however we get to 300+ def range, nothing comes close and even silver witches outdps platinums.
7) Platinum mikos do worse dps than gold witches but better than silver ones. They obviously don't come with a DPS cooldown.
8) However, with her AW attack boost Shiho gets on par with platinum witches.
9) Against single target, mages do DPS slightly inferior to one-tier lower witch. It only takes two targets per shot, to make AoE outperform anything else on high def enemies. It takes three low-def enemies per hit for mage to start outperforming archers.
10) Janna does similar single-target DPS as pirate, which as we know is bad. Against two targets, she still has slightly worse DPS than an archer. It takes 200+ def for mage to start outperforming Janna.
