U made me go check his website, its' no longer 403ing anymore and is back again.

At very least, I now know whoever made the game is still alive.

Hrmm seem to have little trouble getting this game to run.

The dll it needs is RGSS200J.dll and VXAce, which is what the game.ini says. I have this version and indeed that particular file under common files/enterbrain. I dont get a "not found" error but more of a "has stopped working windows like error". I even tried putting the file in system32 where a few of the other RGSS's are. I'm in japanese locale and i'm on vista. It might be that its a fake link but it seems pretty legit (204mb) and even has a "no voice" folder, which i'm assuming is because the voices in this game might be quite high and squealy.

Any ideas?

PS the version i dled was 1.5, and then i immediately used the patch to 1.56 from the megalink earlier on this page.

install VXAce, then google RGSS200J.dll and then put the dll into the incubus fantasy folder. beyond that I don't know how to help you.

If anyone has the game and maybe wants to subtly bump me in the right version to a working link, it might solve the problem.

I think your game is fine, for this game you don't need both RPG Maker VX Ace and RPG Maker VX Ace Run Time Package (though other games may require them). You need only RPG Maker VX Run Time Package (RTP). A little confuse, i know, but VX Ace is incompatible with VX .

You can search RPG Maker VX RTP link on net or on the official site. But on the official site you'll have to download the RPG Maker VX trial to install both VX and VX RPT. Please note the RTP is free, but the engine isn't, you can just uninstall the engine latter. The same go for VX Ace and RPG Maker XP

Ah sorry for the confusion, i have installed on my computer "RPG MAKER VX Ace RTP". I don't actually have the engine, just the RTP, and i also have the non-ace version.

Also my game.ini file says
RTP=RPGVX
Library=RGSS200J.dll
Scripts=Data\Scripts.rvdata
Title=Incubus Fantasy Ver.1.5.6
So it seems to want the non-ace version? Which I have.

No idea, his blog went down, but came back up. So the maker is still alive. His motivation to finish the game is likely very low.

How idiotic can people get? If you want that content in the game enough to kill the maker of the game make it yourself. what next death threats to a toddler because there was a openly gay couple in a episode of a show she was on... oh wait that happened.

agree it's already enough that we pirating their games
(if they're not drm protected)

so nobody can expect devs making the game content exactly how some one wants, (if they don't pay them for it)

anyway threatening a dev would be only reasonable if someone doesn't want the game to be released, means whoever threats the dev, doesn't want the game to be completed,
(or is soo stupid that he thinks the dev would do what someone tells him to to by posting a threatening post on his blog)

thought it's a shame he breaks the game up after that

Looking at the blog the latest post is dated november

however no year is stated, so it could easily be year(s) ago.

edit: a quick check shows 2011/2 is the most likely answer.
