Thanks for the new votes guys, and as a quick update on what's going on for the next post... well, I seem to have caught a rather nasty bug. I've lost my voice completely and am plagued with all kinds of nastiness ranging from headaches, nausea, fatigue, aches and pains, and a few other things that are best left unsaid. As such I really haven't been in the mood to do any writing, so the next post might take a teensy bit longer than usual. Sorry for those hoping to get a new post in the adventure and I'll do my utmost to make a speedy recovery!

A, B, and X to heal up fully and use the ice shield before going down to the rift. I put all of them together because there was a tie, and because it really would have been unnecessary for what I had planned to drag this out passed more than one post.

I’m really sorry this took so long to get out. I’ve been terribly sick for close to a week now and whenever I do pretty much anything I fall into horrible and lengthy coughing fits. It’s worse when I’m not moving around, which means whenever I tried to sit down and write I would inevitably hack up a lung along with a nice tasty ball of phlegm – the not being able to properly concentrate and write was/is more frustrating than actually being sick! But, here it is at long last and hopefully I’ll be better so I can get these out faster.

By the way, thank you xgkf and nightshade99 for wishing me well and a happy new year! It means a lot to me and I hope you both had a great new year! That goes for all of you readers and voters alike!

You think it over for a few moments and nod to yourself in affirmation as you come to a conclusion. “First things first” you say to yourself as you still feel some of the tingling pain from the scratches of your most recent battle. “What?” Helena asks curiously before she watches as you tap into the power of the gold magic crystal and, drawing from the power of the crystal itself, you begin to glow in a dim golden light before releasing the healing energies on yourself, completely healing your wounds. “Smart” Helena says with a smirk as you sigh in relief as your wounds completely heal “No sense going into a fight at anything less than full strength. Heh, too bad it doesn’t do much for your clothes. Fuck, those spiders did a number on you – maybe you shoulder, I don’t know; move out of the way next time?” Helena finishes with a playful giggle and you glare at her and throw a light punch at her right arm, making her laugh. She’s right though; without my magic, blessings, and even some of the training I received at the temple I would have been a goner… or at the very least in a much worse position. I need to get better if I’m going to survive encounters like that in the future you think seriously while frowning, and then immediately shaking the feeling of hopelessness from yourself as you look back to your love… or one of them at least. “I think we should check out the mage’s room and see if there’s anything useful there… or if it’s his room at all” you say to Helena. Helena laughs and says “You sure do like your diversions, don’t you? Ah, fuck it; maybe we’ll run into some more spiders or some shit” and then her smile turns to a lewd grin and she adds “You know, with all the places you’ve drug me around today I think I’ve more than earned a little something from you~”. You smirk and inch a little closer to Helena and rub your right gloved finger under her chin and draw her into a gentle kiss on her pink lips with your red ones, drawing a moan from you both and a ripple from the slime as you secretly think that you’d like nothing more than to get her on her knees and have those lips kissing somewhere else.

You pull back and, with that same smirk, you practically breathe out sexual desire as your loins start to itch and that familiar carnal need flares up as you gaze into your lover’s eyes. “Oh, I thought the temple of Dwynvel was your ‘little something’ after Madame Deidra’s? What more, dare I ask, could you possibly want, hmm~? ” you say as you bring your left hand to Helena’s lavender locks and run your hands through her hair, gently massaging her scalp and drawing a pleasured moan from her lips. “Fuck, that’s nice~” Helena says as she closes her eyes and tilts her head back while smiling as you help relax her before she speaks, though still with closed eyes “Mmm, don’t get me wrong; I love that I was able to share a part of my world with you, and it meant the world to me… but this is something I’ve been thinking about for a little while now”. Your lover opens her eyes and leans forward, pull your hand from her hair and looking you in your emeralds as she grasps your hand tenderly and says with a small, if suggestive, smile “I want you… to get a tattoo!” You blink once and look at Helena quizzically as you repeat “A tattoo? Why a tattoo?” She laughs and pulls your hand over her left breast in a surprisingly non-suggestive way and replies with a bright smile “I’d get one right along with you, babe! Fuck, I know the perfect design, too! It’ll be on our backs – I’ll dragon tattoo and you’ll get a tiger on your back! Nothing too big of course, because we need to have room for more!” You give your monk a strange look before you laugh at her enthusiasm and say with a chuckle “Maybe, and here I was thinking you wanted to do something naughty” – “Oh” Helena pipes up in a sultry tone “If you won’t go for that then plan B is to convince you to fuck on the big double dildo I brought with me. It’s a specially enchanted one that I just know you’ll love~”. “Now that” you say huskily and with a smirk “Is something I could definitely go for~. Now, before I get too aroused and take you right here I think we should focus on the task at hand”. Helena pouts and calls you a “party pooper” before she shrugs and follows right behind – obviously checking you out as you try to shake off the new waves of arousal that snuck up on you - you as you move down the other passage towards where you think the mage’s room might be if the journal is any indication.

You follow the slick walls of the sewer depths passage which are unsurprisingly similar to the ones that held the spiders, except that you can see bits of frost along the walls that make you very curious. You even notice the familiar glow of a magical light emanating from the end of the hall. You put your hand up for Helena to wait, and as she crouches down you do the same and pull your hood up as your blessing takes effect, camouflaging you and helping you blend into the surroundings like a chameleon. You creep forward at a slow and cautious pace and note that the room is quite lavish and homely look from where you are – you can see that at the threshold to the room there is a very fine red rug that covers the floor, a dresser directly across from you with a mirror on top… and a journal as well. You focus for a moment on the journal, but press on as you redirect your attention to your surroundings. No signs of traps or magical runes… no spiders… the coast looks clear. Let me dip my head inside and get a better look you think and you do just that as you poke your head into the room and scan it for anything harmful. On the left side of the room you see a small but comfortable looking bed with sheets as red as the carpet and with three pillows. On the right side is a stove that, once you enter your aura sight, you see that is enchanted. You scan the rest of the room and note that, besides the stove and the light, there’s not much magic hereabouts… until you spot a large rune smack dab in the middle of the room that has been inscribed onto the floor in arcane writing – a large circle with the ancient writings which you unfortunately can’t read since you haven’t dedicated your life to magic. You do note the glowing blue pulse coming from it that identifies it as an ice trap of some sort most likely that would otherwise be invisible to the naked eye; however, something seems off about it that you can’t quite put your finger on. There are a few other items scattered about the room such as clothing, a few pieces of magically preserved food, water, and other luxury items that would suggest someone was living here for the long term. Besides the rune in the room you don’t see anything else that would be dangerous or harmful, so you stand up, pull your hood back, and wave Helena in.

“Be careful” you say to your love as she approaches whilst pointing at the center of the room. “There’s a rune inscribed on the floor. You won’t be able to see it, but trust me it’s there. I think it might be an ice trap… probably to deal with any spiders... which might explain the frost I saw on the walls earlier!” You get excited at the realization and quickly explain to Helena, who looks at you with an intrigued and bemused expression “The frost on the walls was from earlier rune traps! The mage protected himself while he slept, ate, dressed, or whatever else he did here! The spiders probably avoided this room for that very reason, which must be why it’s untouched; they probably knew it meant they would be in danger”. “Easy, Colette, you don’t need to go all brainy on me. Sure it’s interesting, but it’s nothing to get excited over. So, how do we deal with the trap in the room?” Helena rains all over your parade – you pout and glare at her before looking back at the rune and saying “I… don’t know to be honest. If I had spent more time, uh, studying magic and runes then I would be able to read it, and I don’t have the proper training to disable it anyways. Which means the only way to disable it would be for something living to touch it, but that’s too dangerous so we should just le- Helena, what are you doing?!” “Fuck it!” Helena yells as she jumps forward towards the center of the room where the rune is – you reach out and yell in vain as you watch Helena act completely reckless. You almost can’t bear to look as she lands feet first directly on top of the trap… and nothing happens. Helena jumps up and down a bit as she turns to face you, her very nice DD-cup breasts jiggling enticingly as she does so, and when she finishes she places her hands on her hips and says “Well, that was disappointing. Maybe you were wrong”. Your mouth gapes open at Helena and, after you recover from the shock and stupidity of her actions, you yell at her “What in the hells were you thinking?! You could have been hurt, Helena, or worse! And no I’m not wrong – there’s definitely a rune right where you’re standing, and if the frost marks on the walls outside are any indication then it’s a trap rune!” You think you might be turning a little red in anger, so you try to calm yourself down as Helena shrugs nonchalantly and with a smile before saying “Hey, it’s how I do things. I don’t fuck around with waiting around, and I figured I could take whatever was thrown at me. I mean, I can heal myself, and if anything were to happen then I know you’d be right there. Better me than you if it comes down to it”.

You’re both angered, touched, and… despaired(?) at Helena’s comments and, as you disregard safety and approach her, you reach at and place your hands on her shoulders, look her in the eyes, and say serenely “Don’t talk like that, Helena. Okay, yes, you probably could handle it better than I could, and yes you could heal yourself, and most definitely yes I would be there to help you, but it’s never a question of you or me – we do this together, we stick together, we look out for each other, and we make it out together”. Helena smiles and nods her head before replying with somewhat sad eyes ”Fucking shit… gods dammit I’m sorry, Colette. This is a problem I have; I always leap before I look and damn the consequences. I can use my head, but I prefer to leave things to chance or leap before I look – keeps things interesting for me. Anyways, sorry… by the way why wouldn’t the rune have gone off?” You look to the top right corner of your vision as you think and withdraw your hands before a thought pops into your head, currently satisfied with Helena’s response “Well, from what little I do know about runes I do know that, if you have the knowledge, one can tune them to only work on certain creatures or objects or even certain individuals if you have pieces of them on hand like hair or skin. The upside is that it will deal more damage, perhaps even be outright fatal if the target is not properly equipped, but the downside… would be that it wouldn’t affect anything or anyone else”. You laugh and bring your hand to your forehead and say “He didn’t expect anyone else to come down here, so he must have only attuned his runes to work on the spiders, his spiders”. “Neat” Helena says as she watches your epiphany with amusement “But a whole lot of shit it did him in the end. Come on, let’s search the place” – you agree and, a moment later, you and Helena split off in search of anything useful. You go off to the right side of the room towards the enchanted stove, which also seems to have a panel on the side that, once opened, you see different foods that have been magically preserved. You thoroughly examine the stove for any other panels and conclude that there’s nothing really worthwhile here, so you move on.

“Ha ha ha, jackpot! Looks like our spider breeding mage was a bit lonely!” Helena sounds off with a boisterously amused laugh that draws your attention – you see that she went to search the mage’s bed and in the process checked under it. You grin and giggle as you see her holding an artfully made picture book that has a small painting of a naked blonde haired elf on the cover sitting on a couch looking very suggestive. Helena chuckles right along with you and opens up the book as she plops her behind onto the bed and whistles out before saying “Fuck, this guy had some great taste. Shit, look at the tits on that one – they’re almost as big as Leena’s! Mmm, fucking hells who’s the artist?” Helena then quickly shuffles through the pages, then looks at the front and back covers before groaning in frustration as she lightly bangs the book against the sheets of the bed “Dammit, no signatures or anything – I’ll have to show this around to some of the shops around the red light to see if anyone recognizes the art. I gotta find more of this shit – here, take a look”. She smirks and holds up the book to you, and you can’t help but smile lewdly back as you saunter over to her, slime rippling all the while, and taking a seat next to her as you take the book from her. The front cover is the first thing you look at, seeing the petite blonde haired elf sitting nude on a cushioned brown chair, her right leg crossed over her left, her chin resting on her left hand which has her elbow propped up on the armrest while her right rests on the other armrest, her hair done up in a bun, and she’s looking at the reader with husky eyes and a very slight smile. You have to admit that the art is very well done as to be almost lifelike with even the minutest of details done perfectly so that comes together to compliment the entire piece as a whole. You flip the page and the first small drawing on the inside cover is of a human woman that looks to be in her early twenties with short brown hair bathing in a hot spring – the other picture on the right has a naked, very muscular green orc woman with a black Mohawk ponytail wielding a battle axe in one hand with grime, cuts, and bruises on her body. Her breasts in this drawing are quite large, and it is very erotic you find – you flip some more pages to find catgirls, dwarven women, oni, succubi – a lot of succubi – and a multitude of other races, even some half elves, that all leave you feeling hot and bothered. “Wow” you say as you hand the book back to Helena, having needed to stop as your arousal starts to reach higher peaks “Those are really well done, and really hot”.

Helena laughs and nods as she takes back the book before taking her sack off and putting it inside “Yeah, I know, which is why I’m taking it with. I need to find the artist and get more of his, or her, work. Not to mention it’ll be good finger fucking material for those lonely, lonely nights~”. You laugh and shake your head in amusement “See, I told you that there would be some treasure in here. Mmm, how about I look at the pictures while you eat me out~ - that sounds much better in my opinion~”. “I just might do that, babe~” Helena replies in a sultry voice as she bites her bottom lip before adding “But I think we should finish searching, don’t you?” You sigh and smile as you nod in agreement before resuming the search for anything of more practical value. You and Helena both scour the room and find nothing, which leaves only the dresser left and the book on top. You decide to pick up the book after dusting it off and opening to the first page… which seems to be another journal of some sort mixed in with a diary. Again, the man’s name isn’t mentioned, and as you skim most of it is ideas related to a great many topics including the breeding of the dire spiders, however, one page catches your eye near the end of the journal that has the title “The Terror” written on the top of the page.

The Terror:
A poor, if somewhat clichéd, name for my latest creation, but a fitting one nonetheless. There are a few notable similarities between this creature and the others, but also numerous and stark differences that separate this one from the rest of her kind. First and foremost The Terror is a queen – and how a queen managed to be bred is still a mystery to me – and, like the others, it was docile at first, but that changed over time. It was not until it was in its late stages of maturation, unfortunately, that I noticed any discrepancies in her behavior – she had baited me. While I find this to be incredibly astounding that a spider could hold such intelligence, my enthusiasm is tempered by the fact that it was able to remain seemingly domesticated for such a long period of time. My attempts to quell her aggression with the use of ice magic which she, like the others for some reason, seem to have an aversion to. She led the other spiders against me and, while I put down all of them, I was unable to bring myself to kill my most prized creation… a failure I am sure I will regret in the future. I have instead trapped her in the room with the rift and continue to monitor her as she continues to undergo some sort of extraordinary metamorphosis brought about by the magics of the rift. This has proven to be both incredibly exciting on an academic level, and supremely worrying as she seems to draw energy from the rift. Along with whatever poor creature wanders into her lair, she is able to sustain herself via the magics of the rift and has grown to a staggering level. I would surmise that she is now, as of time of writing, fifteen feet in length and ten feet tall. Like other dire spider queens she has armored appendages that likewise have blade-like edges to them with incredibly sharp points used for hunting their prey. In addition to the armored carapace of her thorax and abdomen she seems to have some sort of unusual tentacle-like growth on her back. I count three black tentacles in total that writhe about seemingly of their own volition, however, I had the good grace to witness her using them against prey – when the hapless rat drew the Terror’s attention, the tentacles focused on the rat and shot fire at the rat! This leads me to another observation as she doesn’t have any of the boils or warts that the others have. It is most fortunate that she is far too large to escape the room, for I know that should she escape the city, and perhaps beyond, would suffer – which also leads me to believe that…


You continue reading for a little while longer of mostly interesting but not very helpful observations about the terror until you happen upon one passage that you do find useful and informative.

I have developed two specialized ice bombs that have my runes in them should I ever need them. They would be quite useless against anything save my dire spiders, and especially the queen, and should only be used in emergencies due to the limited supply and difficulty crafting them. I will continue to work on more so that one day I may be able to slay my greatest creation should I ever need to. Just twist the top and bottom in opposite directions and throw – the magic will take care of the rest. If, for some mad reason, I should ever find myself in melee combat with the beast then I should aim for the eyes and try to escape. The eyes are the weak point, as they are one of the few unarmored spots on my creation. Now, onto my theory of creating potions using the essence of wild cats…

At this point the mage goes into subjects concerning alchemical combinations using the organs of bobcats, lions, sabertooth tigers, and other cats to create various potions and the like. “Hmm, aim for the eyes… now, where are those bombs at?” you say aloud as you pull the book down, Helena, having scooted beside you and read along with you shortly after you picked the diary/journal up, grunts in agreement as she kneels down and starts opening the drawers to the dresser. You watch her go from the first one at the bottom until the third one in the middle before she says “Aha! Jackpot!” and pulls out two metal orbs about the size of an orange out. They’re both solid black with a small crevice in the center that goes about the circumference of the orb, indicating the two ends that must be twisted to activate the magic. “One for you and one for me, babe” Helena says as she hands you the one in her right hand – you take it and thank Helena as you put it into your fourth, and final, satchel while she takes her sack off and puts it inside. You check the other drawers and find eighty-six gold stashed away in some of the mage’s clothing before doing a final sweep of the room and, upon finding nothing more, you make your way out of the humble abode and back to the stone catwalk. Upon reaching the stairs leading down into the heart of the sewers you get a sense of foreboding as you gaze into the dark, barely magically lit abyss. “Time to see what all the rage is about” Helena says as she nudges your arm and smiles at you reassuringly “Come on, let’s go introduce ourselves, then fuck queeny up, you do your rift thing, and then we leave. I fucking hate the sewers – any longer and I’ll start to smell like the sewers… permanently!” You laugh and, for a few moments at least, you forget your worry and find yourself agreeing with Helena. “It can’t be that bad, can it?” you say a little unconvinced as you descend the stairs with light steps, cringing a little as Helena’s almost boom as they echo around you.

You’ve been walking for a short time now and, while the stairs at the top were relatively wide, you start to notice that the passage down becomes narrower and narrower until you have to walk in front of Helena lest things become too cramped and eventually unpassable as the walk drags on… and on. Another thing you’ve noticed, and one that you’re thankful for given Helena’s less than delicate footsteps, is that as you descend further into the depths you hear the sound of rushing water… a lot of water. Before long, however, you reach a narrow doorway that’s barely tall enough to accommodate you and Helena and barely wide enough for you to comfortably walk through. Passed the threshold the sound of rushing water is extremely loud, drowning out any and all other noise around you – you can scarcely hear your own breathing. You approach the entrance with Helena hot on your heels and, from what little you can see from your position, the room is adequately lit with more magical lights as you can clearly see into this room like the two before it. On top of the sound of rushing water you see that the room itself has a small amount of water – clean water curiously enough – covering the stone floor of the room, meaning you’ll probably get your boots and the bottom of your coat wet should you step into the room, which would be a simple step down. You do see little grates littering the floor, but it’s not enough to drain the water quickly enough so as to leave it dry. At the back of the room you see the reason, or one of them at least, as to why there’s the sound of rushing water – on the other side of the room is a giant waterfall of clean water rushing down a stone slope from above that’s been grated off. You watch as it rushes down into another grate on the floor, though obviously not all of the water makes it as some excess splashes around the edges, thus filling the room with water as you can guess that around the corners are other waterfalls. This is all transitory to your attention as the real prize lies in the center of the room floating above a small, dry stone island – in the very center of this very large room sits your prize, the rift. You smile as you see the grey swirling magical vortex and, as you drop into your aura sight, you can’t help but let out a small “wow” as the world bleeds away into the world of magic that binds it together. You see threads literally forming out of the rift, glowing and pulsing their gentle blue as the rift creates them and pushes them out, though they still swirl around the room and seem to be connected to every bit of land in the room leading directly back to the rift even as they seem to go through the walls itself.

You feel that same familiar urge to pursue the rift, but much more intense now that you’re actually near it and can actually see the rift, though not quite as powerful as the last time. The pull is so great that, for the briefest of moments, you forget yourself and start to stand up until you feel the ground quake, you see the water in the rift chamber ripple, and you hear slow and lumbering movements that pull your senses back to reality. Fear starts to slowly creep up on you as you slowly start to take a few steps back while remaining cloaked, and you have to fight the urge to yell out in shock as the source of the quakes comes into view. The water splashes violently and the stone cracks under the stress of the gargantuan beasts steps as a large dire spider – The Queen… The Terror – comes into view moving passed the doorway. You watch silently, not even daring to breathe, as the eight legged fiend moves into view, blocking out the light of the chamber and severely limiting your vision in the process as it passes by. That and the fact that it is so close to the entrance hinders your ability to adequately observe this unnaturally large monster, but what you do see is a few pairs of extremely vicious and armored legs that look like they could withstand even Helena’s punches along with an armored thorax, though slightly less armored abdomen. The blades are much more pronounced than the lesser of its kin, jutting out half a foot all along the length of the appendage… and that’s all you saw as it slowly, almost lazily, walks by without seemingly a care in the world. Unbeknownst to you, you’ve been backing up the entire time and let out a little gasp as you bump into something behind you, which also gasps – you quickly turn around to face Helena, a look of shock, fear, and excitement written across her face.

“Holy shit… that thing was massive!” Helena whispers – you’re in no mood to have this discuss here, so you stand up, break the cloak, and motion for Helena to follow. After you’re a ways away from the entrance somewhat up the stairs you tap into the power of your blue magic crystal and cast your ice shield on both yourself and Helena before you say quietly. “It’s crazy how big it is – it’s probably three times as big as a bison if not more!” you say in a hushed whisper as you pull your hood down. “How are we going to fight such a thing? It looks like it will tear us to shreds in an instant!” you say under your breath in frustration – “One of us can be used as a distraction” Helena says calmly “While the other tries to take shots at the eyes. If it comes down to it then I’ll volunteer to be the distraction and you can use that bow of yours to take out its eyes, or toss that ice bomb at it”. You look aghast at Helena before quickly responding with concern “Helena, that thing would tear either of us apart one-on-one! Let me think… okay, may we can lure it closer to the rift so I can recharge my crystals or –“you start to say before Helena interrupts and adds “Or you could do whatever it is you do at the rift. If what you say is true and you do get stronger if you jump into a rift then fucking do it. I’m tougher than I look, babe, not to mention I have your ice shield and a whole bunch of miracles at my disposal”. You think it over before another idea pops into your head and you say “Well, I could always try and sneak by it to get to the rift, that’s if we even want to try and tackle this thing in the first place. It looks slow due to its size unlike the others which were quicker an-“you’re again interrupted, but this time by a very loud and thundering plop that makes you turn around and move down the stairs a little to see what’s going on. When you get to a point where you can again see into the chamber you see, directly in front of the rift and blocking it from view, the Terror sitting down as it seems to be lying down and napping… or whatever it is giant monstrous spiders do that looks like napping. It’s facing away from you, thank the gods, and it affords a better view of its entire form, which you see is absolutely massive. It looks like it has a black, red, and yellow carapace along most of its body that’s both spiny and tough looking. However, the most shocking and interesting thing about this creature is that you see five black writhing tentacles sprouting from the beasts back… which is two more than what the mage’s journal said, which indicates that it’s still most likely “growing” in some way.

You enter your aura sight and, as the world bleeds away once more, you note the weakness to ice and strength against fire, however, something very odd is going on with the tentacles. The black tentacles are weak to ice like the rest of the body… but for some reason the red pulsing and glow is much more pronounced as are the dimly lit fissures of blue that you see lining the surface. Even the threads you see in the tentacle, even from this distance, seem to flow violently with magic and glow brighter to your trained eyes almost as if it’s not entirely a part of the spider – more like some sort of magical parasite perhaps? Another odd thing is that the threads being pushed out by the rift seem to now be drawn directly to the tentacles and absorbed by it. Now that’s interesting… why didn’t I see the threads move towards it before? you think before an idea strikes you Maybe the closer it is to the rift the more power it absorbs from it? That might make sense since it is way too close to a rift to be safe for a normal creature. Most things, magical or otherwise, would start to suffer being so close to a rift and maybe even die – heh, or maybe I’m just not as learned as I thought considering I actually walked right into one – but this Terror seems to almost be bathing in it… feeding from it even. You pull out of your second sight and look at the tentacles normally, noting that unlike the rest of the spider’s body the tentacles actually look rather delicate despite their size and girth, which just so happens to be quite long and thick, indicating that this might be another weak spot along with its eyes.

Time to make a decision. Character/Environment Interaction explanation
The Character/Environment Interaction system allows you to interact with the world around you as well as interact with Colette or other characters in the story. Want to have Colette tie her hair up? Then choose this along with the main choices. Want her to stow away a stone, or tie up a bad guy with a rope? Go right ahead! Maybe you're in the middle of a fight and feel that clothing is too cumbersome. You can put on make-up, put clothes on and take clothes off, kick over a bucket, slap a succubus' ass.
Don't go too crazy, though. If it's a bit outlandish then unfortunately I might not be able to use it. Other than that, be creative guys and gals!

If you're in a pinch you can easily notice potential escape routes, item and weapon combinations, optimal tactics to attack and defend in combat, how best to enter a building, etc. (I'll give helpful information and suggestions on how to handle situations, but not too much).

Charismatic: If you've got it, flaunt it! You know you're pretty, and you've always been a leader. You can use your feminine wiles to seduce both men and women alike and persuade them to your line of thinking, or you can use your natural charisma to rally troops into battle and improve morale with your strong words and character! Crushing Blows (Hand-to-Hand 4/4 perk): Helena’s mastery over Hand-to-Hand combat has given her the ability to deliver devastating hand-to-hand strikes. With this perk she can destroy and shatter wood with her bare hands and will definitely break bones or kill if she strikes someone hard enough with the intent to kill. With this ability she also gains a minor increase to damage dealt from purely hand-to-hand sources.

Hot-Headed: Helena is hot-headed and acts rashly, often without thinking of the consequences beforehand. She’ll be more eager to get into a fight without subtlety, often throwing herself into the fray. She also has a short temper as a result and, though quite mellow most of the time, if she or those she cares about are threatened or insults even to the smallest degree then she may react with an explosive response.

Magic What?: Helena is not very “gifted” when it comes to using magic. Though it’s not uncommon, the fact remains that Helena does not do well when it comes to understanding magic crystals and how to use magic. As a result she takes a much longer amount of time learning new magical spells from magic crystals. Additionally, she has the misfortune of sometimes causing the magic she tries to use to backfire on her, such as when she tries to shoot a fireball it may explode in her face, or if she tries to use an ice shield she may freeze herself, or her allies, instead. You take a deep breath before turning to Helena, who’s close behind you, and quietly relaying your plan to her as she listens intently, nodding her understanding every once in a while. Lastly, you hand over your white magic crystal to her and say “Use this if you need to since you’ll be in the most danger”. Helena looks at the crystal warily, but nods and takes it from you and puts it into her sack before saying “I’ll gladly take it head on, but I’m not too good with magic, babe. I might end up blinding myself, you, the spider… or maybe all of us” – you smile lightly at Helena and gently place a hand on her cheek and say “I believe in you, Helena, and if the worst happens then I’ll be right beside you. Now, wait for me to get atop the ugly thing – no offense, but you’ll probably alert it on the water”. Helena huffs and adds “Fine, I get it; I suck at being sneaky or quiet. Just be careful, and if I see you in trouble then I’m going to come running and don’t even fucking try telling me no”. You smile and nod before you focus inward on the power inside you that you felt when you “found yourself and you immediately start to feel a supreme wave of confidence and calm roll over you like a warm, gentle breeze. You focus deeper inside you to the very core of your being – perhaps what you might call your “soul” – and, when you know that you have a hold of it, you tap into it and unleash a silent shockwave that makes your clothes ripple as if they’ve been hit by a strong zephyr and the water in front of you on the floor of the chamber to ripple out towards the spider. You hold your breath and hope that it does not wake the beast and, fortunately, it doesn’t stir – before you don your hood and crouch down you look to Helena and see that she was prepared as she presses herself up against the wall, gritting her teeth slightly. You mouth a “sorry” at Helena and smile sheepishly, to which she merely shakes her head and waves you off as you quickly dig around in your pack for your grappling hook. As the blessed coat camouflages you, you dart off quick as lightning while crouching down – the entire world seems slow and sluggish to you as you silently, almost too silently, traverse the water covered floor of the chamber. A quick glance down shows that, for every step you take, not a single ripple or splash comes up from the water, almost as if you’re simply gliding across it… and then a moment later you’re directly behind the gargantuan abomination. You give the spiny, bladed, armored giant a very uncertain and scared look and quickly imagine your armor in its previous combat form to cover your entire body to prevent damage.

It’s even more massive up close, but you steel yourself and, rope and hook in hand, you quickly give it a few twirls before launching it over the beast’s abdomen which is, thankfully, not as spiny or sharp and has enough hardened exoskeleton ridges to allow some good footholds… you hope. If you had any real sense of time you would be amazed that the entire ordeal from the beginning until now only took less than thirty seconds, but you’re too focused as you hold your breath as you watch the hook sail over the abdomen… and then stop – you only give the hook one quick and hard tug to confirm that it’s indeed latched on somewhere. You don’t even wait as you see the faintest twitch of the Terror as it begins to rise and, thankfully, your rift power seems to make everything so much slower in comparison to your movements, so you quickly grab the rope with both hands and launch yourself up a few feet to grab the highest portion of the rope you can reach. In a matter of two, maybe three, seconds you have a firm grasp of the rope, planting your feet on some of the ridges of the abdomen, and quickly scale up the beasts abdomen. By this time you definitely know that you’ve woken the beast as it slowly – painfully and blessedly slowly for you – starts to rise. You don’t waste any time and, the moment you poke your head over the large abdomen of the Terror and spot the tentacles writhing ever so slowly compared to your increased speed, you quickly get a good grip with your hands and hoist yourself up with a grunt of effort and exertion before quickly taking the hook, which is latched onto the edge where the abdomen meets the thorax, and tossing it over the edge and onto the water below. The tentacles turn to you as if in slow motion and you see them start to glow in a bright red glow – you waste no time and quickly tap into the power of your yellow magic crystal, summoning forth the power of your lightning whip as you glow in a semi-bright yellow light. A moment later and you unleash the power of your magic crystal, summoning forth a whip of lightning from your left hand and, without a moment to spare, you wind your arm back before whipping forward, sending a lightning like crack that reverberates throughout the chamber and hurtling towards the tentacles protruding from the back of the monster. You had more than enough time to spare as the lightning whip struck the first tentacle, stunning it, and then proceeded to flow through each of the other four – this action ceased all their magics at once as they writhe about furiously in agony as the electricity coursed through them, and again when you come back around for another attack.

You had to shift your balance as this also caused the Terror beneath you to jerk from side to side furiously, though thanks to your increased speed and reaction time it was relatively easy to do so – you glance behind you for a moment to see Helena charging across the watered floor, globs of moisture splashing up from her feet as she pumps her legs which looks so slow to your eyes right now before you return your attention back to the Terror. With the immediate threat of magic out of the way you make haste closer towards the stunned tentacles and where it comes out from the back of the queen spider and, upon reaching closer to it, you see that the armored plates of the spider are cracked and replaced by a strangely black fleshy substance where the tentacles are that pulses almost like a heartbeat. One of them whips out towards you in defense, but you manage to duck before it smacks you in the face and in retaliation you bring your right hand beneath the flap of your coat to your satchel, pulling out the ice bomb you acquired from the mage’s quarters. You bring your left hand to it, which is still charged with lightning, and press your hands together against both ends and twist – the orb immediately starts to glow in a bright blue light from the seam as two cylinders pop out from either end, which you had never noticed before, that also glow brightly blue as some sort of liquid sloshes around inside it. You bring your arm up… and then slam it down while releasing the orb directly on top of the spot where the tentacles protrude forth from the shell of the queen dire spider and immediately a blanket of ice wraps over the point where it connected with the skin and envelops it and the tentacles in a sheet of blue ice… and then things start to get dangerous. The spider, none too pleased at having just been hit with a bomb of ice, rears up on its legs and goes vertical for a moment, throwing you from it despite your increased speed.

Oh crap! Gotta land on my feet! you think frantically as you sail through the air, currently horizontal with your back towards the ground as you flail your arms and legs about as you try to reposition yourself. You succeed in flipping yourself over in a backflip after tucking your knees into your chest and rolling and, moments before you touch the ground, you land on your feet and the blessing of your coat absorbs the entirety of the shock that leaves you unscathed and not feeling any pain in your joints from the landing. You do, however, slide back a few feet and just in time to see Helena glow in a dim white light – you bring your arms in front of your eyes to shield them just in time as the white flash of light fills the chamber. When the light show is over you remove your arms from your eyes… and your heart sinks when you see that spider, the tentacles on its back still frozen, hunkered down with its two front legs in front of its eyes. When it rises it looks absolutely, positively pissed – if a spider could look as such – as you see it’s red eyes alight with rage, venom dripping from its large fangs, and it rears up and brings four of its razor sharp and powerful legs crashing down towards Helena. “Helena! Move!” you scream as you run to try and get to Helena, but even with your speed enhanced as it is you’re unable to reach her in time. You watch in horror as the legs, their edges and points sharper than the toughest steel, come crashing down right where Helena is standing as she looks up at the beast. You almost can’t look as you continue to rush forward, watching as you feel a lump in your throat as the attack draws ever closer… and then you watch in glee as Helena dives backwards and out of the way, landing with an “Oof!” as she skids across the slick chamber floor, sending water flying out from beneath her. “Fuck that could have gone better!” you hear Helena yell as she scrambles to her feet before yelling to you “Pay attention, Colette! It’s coming right for you!” You blink once in confusion before you refocus your attention on the abomination that tried to kill your lover and, true to her word, you see the angry Terror charging you at a lightning pace… well, a lightning pace for a beast as large as it is all things considered. The ground quakes with each step it takes, the stone beneath it cracks and groans under the weight and force of each step, and the water ripples outwards and cascades upwards, but at least it’s tentacles are frozen… for now.

You still hold your lightning whip and you spot the grappling hook lying in the water and an idea forms in your mind. “Helena, get the grappling hook while I hold it off!” you yell out to the lavender haired monk – she doesn’t even acknowledge you as she darts for the rope and hook near the rift while you focus your attention on this Terror. Dammit! It looks more angry than hurt! you think before you twirl the lightning whip in your left hand, smacking it against the water and sending little yellow jolts of electricity to course over the water. You count down the seconds – too long for you given the power you unleashed – until the beast is upon you and, when it is obvious it won’t slow down and intends to run you down, you decide to take a risk and charge the Terror headlong before dropping down and sliding underneath it. You moved quickly enough, too quickly for the beast to reasonably keep up with you, to avoid any change in attack from the beast and so you manage to avoid its legs as they come crashing down on you. You unleash a barrage of your own with your lightning whip, flinging it around your head as you slide underneath the belly of the beast twice in quick succession, sending yellow electricity coursing through the legs and body of the giant queen. Just as you reach under the abdomen of the spider you dive forward and out of the way as its legs buckle and give way to the paralyzing effect the electricity has on its muscles. You scramble to your feet and quickly turn around, water flying up around you and off your wet clothes in the process, to face the beast just in time to see the hook connected to your rope fling over the top of the abdomen and, a moment later, you see a gi, skin, and lavender scaling the top. “Eat this queen bitch!” Helena yells as she reaches the top of the abdomen and, just as the ice encasing the tentacles starts to crack and melt as they glow red, Helena brings her hands over the ice bomb, twists, and throws the bomb into the mass of five tentacles. The eruption of ice on top of ice is incredible; you watch as blue mist erupts outwards – a detail you missed earlier while in the heat of the moment – and re-solidifies the blue ice coating that encased the tentacles to begin with along with the top of the Terror’s back. Again, the same as when you attacked the Terror, it rears up and throws Helena off, though she seems much better prepared and before she’s in an awkward spot she jumps off the back of the abomination and lands with a large splash on her legs before turning around and holding her fists out in front of her, a determined look on her face.

“I’ll draw it’s attention while you deal with the shit on it’s back! Come here you ugly fuck!” Helen yells to you without looking before she charges right at the Terror with total disregard for her safety, water kicking up around her as she closes the distance and as the Terror flips around and lets loose a bloodcurdling hiss. Dammit, she’s crazy! Alright, time to move! you think in frustration as you pull out your short sword with your right hand and sprint to the edges of the spider’s vision, moving into it’s blind spot while it focuses on the one who dares challenge it. You offer a small thanks as the hook is still stuck, or rather frozen, to the back of the giant, but you also curse under your breath as it starts to move towards Helena. You double time it for the rope as it sways and, thanks to your increased movement speed, you manage to catch it in your left hand as it sways while holding off the lightning from surging through it. “AAAARGH!” you hear Helena scream a war cry while scaling the back of the experiment once again, this time with the intent of removing the tentacles from it’s back in the hopes that they won’t be a problem in the future. You make it onto the back of the beast once more, but hold on for dear life when it rears back a little, but not enough to toss you. “Whoa, easy there!” you say as you watch it bring its two front legs up before crashing down into the stone, which cracks beneath it. You fear for Helena’s safety for a moment, but your fears are unfounded and turn to relief when you hear her voice yell triumphantly “Haha! You missed again you slow fuck! Better luck next time! Maybe I’ll try hopping on one leg and then you’ll be able to hit me!” You can’t help but crack a smile beneath your mask, but quickly shake the feelings of amusement off as you make your way closer to the center of the queen’s back when it comes back down. With sword still in hand and magic in the other you unleash a flurry of strikes against the tentacles – first with your short sword in a diagonal cut down followed by a horizontal strike with your lightning whip, then once more with your sword in another diagonal arc, but from the left this time. With each strike from sword and spell and bomb the tentacles seem to have grown weaker and weaker as you witness the ice cracking under your attacks, and not because they were about to break. Each tentacle has had abuse after abuse thrust upon it – frozen, cut, and electrocuted while under a sheet of ice, and now the damage has been done. With the roar you bring your sword together in both hands, combining spell and steel together and unleashing a mighty swipe near the base of the tentacles… and severing all five of them with a satisfying crack then the sound of ice shattering as each of the appendages fly off the top of the Terror. Strange black blood spurts from the short stumps left behind, which writhe uncontrollably in agony – or what little they can beneath the ice – as the spider seems none too happy with the outcome. You’re prepared for what comes next and so you turn, bend down, and leap from the beast just as it seems to go on a rampage – it rears up and then charges forward.

“Fuck!” you hear Helena yell and, when your feet touch the ground with a splash of water, you turn around and see Helena on the ground, safe but clearly surprised. However, of more importance is the giant spider you critically wounded – you watch as it charges forward on all eight of it’s legs… and smacks right into the wall beneath a waterfall of cleansed sewer water. And then it smacks into the wall again… and pulls back before smacking itself again… and again… and again. “Has it gone mad?” you say in shock as you keep your weapons at the ready, just in case – “Fuck if I know” Helena says as she jogs up beside you and takes a defensive stance “Looks like whatever was going on with those tentacles was fucking with it’s head. Mmm, speaking of tentacles maybe we should go see Astraea later and have some fun~”. You chuckle and shake your head and say “Now’s not the time for that Helena… but maybe~”. You watch for a few seconds more as the queen pounds its head against the wall, the sound reverberating throughout the chamber and overtaking the sound of rushing water… and then it suddenly stops. You tense up and get ready for another attack, but it never comes – what does come takes you completely by surprise. The spider moves out from underneath the waterfall and slowly turns to you while twitching and jerking its body uncontrollably and erratically and, when its evil eyes land on you and Helena, it again stops… just before black tentacles erupt from all over its body. From its legs, abdomen, thorax, eyes, mouth… everywhere – these black tentacles number in just under twenty-four from all over its body, and then part of the skin peels back to reveal twenty-four white and black eyeballs all homed in on you and Helena.

“What. The. Fuck?” is all Helena says in disgust and bewilderment and, given the circumstances, you tend to agree with her. You drop into your aura sight to see that each and every tentacle… eye… thing has the same overwhelming strength in fire and great weakness to ice, except… “Helena, duck!” you scream before a moment later you and Helena are hitting the deck as two dozen fireballs whiz overhead. Even with your increased speed you weren’t fast enough for whatever abominable parasite seems to have completely taken over the queen spider as a single fireball slams into you square in the face, same as Helena and, if not for your ice shields, you would both be a little crispier about now. “Fucking hells we need to move! It’s charging up for another go!” Helena yells and, in an instant, you’re both on your feet and running across the chamber, circling the rift as the tentacle spider glows in a semi-bright light all along its tentacles before releasing large fireballs aimed right for both of you – you both manage to evade the latest set thanks to staying ahead of the barrage, though it’s close as you – and you’re sure Helena can as well – feel the heat and hear the sizzle of water as it evaporates under the intense flames. When the firing ceases, and you and Helena have effectively made a near circuit of the room so that you’re a few dozen feet away from the spider on its left, it turns and starts to walk towards you… only for the front left and nearest middle right leg to crumple under its weight before another fleshy tentacle erupts from beneath the exoskeleton before it opens up to show yet another eyeball. “Well that’s just fucking perfect! So the more we hurt it the more tentacles pop out! And things were going so fucking great, too!” Helena rages beside you as she huffs to catch her breath – you’re right beside her catching your breath as well, but you do notice something quiet peculiar with the fleshy substance. It’s destroying the outer shell – the nearly impenetrable outer shell – of the spider as it tries to defend itself.

So, the more we hurt it the more tentacles we have to fight? It looks like it can’t sustain itself very well or control the body all that well – heh, maybe it just doomed itself. This makes things easier and harder at the same time; the flesh is easier to deal with using basic attacks and ice magic, but I don’t know how well we can deal with dozens of fireballs aimed right for us unless we start destroying them… wait a moment you think before you drop into your aura sight as the spider tries to wobble forward, but not towards you. Instead, it seems to have its focus trained on the rift in the center of the room… which it is very far away from – there’s no threads connecting it and the rift directly anymore either and it doesn’t seem to be trying to attack you… which means. “Oh my gods” you say with a devilish smile that Helena can’t see “It needs the rift for power. I’m sure it can cast magic on its own, but the closer it is to the rift the stronger it might be and the more we might have to deal with”. “Really?” Helena asks before she chuckles darkly “Well, if that’s the case then all we need to do is make sure this fucker doesn’t get any closer to the rift. Just watch out for giant balls of flaming doom”. “No kidding” you say with a laugh before you think up a plan. And maybe you think as you reflect on yourself I just might be able to suppress it's magic... if I can get close enough.

Character/Environment Interaction explanation
The Character/Environment Interaction system allows you to interact with the world around you as well as interact with Colette or other characters in the story. Want to have Colette tie her hair up? Then choose this along with the main choices. Want her to stow away a stone, or tie up a bad guy with a rope? Go right ahead! Maybe you're in the middle of a fight and feel that clothing is too cumbersome. You can put on make-up, put clothes on and take clothes off, kick over a bucket, slap a succubus' ass.
Don't go too crazy, though. If it's a bit outlandish then unfortunately I might not be able to use it. Other than that, be creative guys and gals!

Hot-Headed: Helena is hot-headed and acts rashly, often without thinking of the consequences beforehand. She’ll be more eager to get into a fight without subtlety, often throwing herself into the fray. She also has a short temper as a result and, though quite mellow most of the time, if she or those she cares about are threatened or insults even to the smallest degree then she may react with an explosive response.

Magic What?: Helena is not very “gifted” when it comes to using magic. Though it’s not uncommon, the fact remains that Helena does not do well when it comes to understanding magic crystals and how to use magic. As a result she takes a much longer amount of time learning new magical spells from magic crystals. Additionally, she has the misfortune of sometimes causing the magic she tries to use to backfire on her, such as when she tries to shoot a fireball it may explode in her face, or if she tries to use an ice shield she may freeze herself, or her allies, instead. It will take considerable training in the use of magic crystals for her to improve before she won’t have a spell backfire, but she will never be able to learn magic quickly through conventional means.

Your course of action seems clear to you as you sheathe your sword and say to Helena “Think you can keep that thing off of me?” – Helena chuckles and replies confidently “Can I outdrink ten dwarves? Sure a shit I’ll keep it off you… hmm, speaking of drinks I could definitely use one after this”. “Alright, let me reapply the ice shields then” you say before tapping into the power of the blue magic crystal, glowing in a dim blue light as you watch the twenty-five tentacled abomination slowly walk – well, it’s really more like waddling – towards the rift, it’s attention not at all focused on you and Helena. After a moment you unleash the power of the crystal as you extend your right hand out to Helena while turning to her and release a blue blast of the magic that quickly re-encapsulates her in a blue sheen of ice that quickly turns translucent. You repeat the step on yourself, drawing from your magical reserves once more, as you watch the spider take more and more steps towards the rift, getting ever closer as time ticks on. After that little problem is checked off you tap into the knowledge and power of the yellow magic crystal, drawing from the forces of lightning as you glow in a dim yellow light, saying to Helena with a serious edge to your voice “Do what you do best, Helena… well, your second best anyways~” before you take out, lightning whip in your left hand and yellow electricity cackling in your right as you pump your arms and legs. “Second best…? Oh you cheeky little…!” Helena yells after you as she runs right behind you, having realized what you meant, making you smirk beneath your mask as it takes your mind off the impending danger before you. When you feel that you’re a good distance away, perhaps a little over a dozen feet and close enough to really make out the fine details of the abominable Terror, you bring your right arm up and unleash a bolt of yellow lightning that, upon leaving your hand, crackles with electrical energy as it travels the distance from you to the “thing”. You don’t waste any time sending yet another lightning bolt hurtling towards the Terror shortly thereafter, drawing from the charges of the crystal itself rather than your reserves. Both bolts fly straight and true, traveling over the water of the chamber floor right for the Terror… yet only one of them connects – the first bolt seems to catch the attention of the Terror as all eyes home in on the bolt and, just before it strikes the main body of the beast, the tentacle nearest to the arc literally swats the lightning bolt and you watch in shock as the magic simply evaporates in a brilliant yellow haze. However, the speed at which you fired both bolts proved too much for the Terror as the second lightning bolt strikes the main body of the beast.

The effect is spectacular as you watch its entire body arc with yellow lightning, and as the water around it seems to add to the charge as electricity skips over the surface around the beast. You keep moving at your enhanced pace, though you do slow down somewhat to let Helena catch up, which should prove safe considering the Terror is currently stunned and being entertained by your magical lightning at the moment. You take the time to tap into your crystal once more, drawing from the knowledge and power as you glow in a semi-bright yellow light, focusing… and then releasing a second lightning whip into your right hand to complement the one in your left. Hmm, I bet Delilah would be proud. Or she’d want to use them on me – one or the other you think in amusement as you give the new whip a twirl and a crack before Helena passes by you, charging at her full speed and yelling “Fucking show off!” You smile and take off after her thinking that it’s good someone else is with you to take your mind off the impending danger, or at least someone as relaxed as Helena despite the circumstances. You quickly gain on Helena, though you veer off to the right to get out of the front of the Terror, briefly wondering if that would even matter before the lightning that kept the Terror locked in place dissipates and it retaliates against you and Helena, though you in particular as you are, at the moment, the larger threat. Six of the eyes home in on you all at once which on top of being dangerous is also incredibly creepy, and they glow in a semi-bright red light before launching six large fireballs in your direction while three more are homed in on Helena and release fireballs at her. You see the fireballs coming almost in slow motion and react accordingly – as you rush forward you duck, dodge, weave, and hurtle under, around, and over the fireballs aimed at you with more than a few close calls, however, each and every fireball aimed at you sails harmlessly passed you and smacks into the water covered chamber floor, sizzling and evaporating the water as it does so. Helena, who’s barely ahead of you, is not so lucky – the first fireball aimed at Helena is easily avoided as she ducks under it, yet the other two right behind the first slam into her head on. The first to hit her shatters her shield instantly with the sheer power and force behind, and you can see the blue ice break apart around her. Thankfully, whether it’s due to Helena’s stubbornness, strength, the blessings on her Gi set, or her hardiness you’re not quite sure, but instead of being knocked back by the second fireball Helena simply puts her arms in front of her like a mantis and powers through the blast as the flames erupt around her.

“Is that all you’ve got?!” Helena yells out in a war-like roar as the red flames dissipate around her as she charges onwards – even though her Gi remained intact, only suffering minor burns that ate away at the fabric on her arms somewhat, you have no doubt it stung and, while you are concerned for Helena’s well-being, you also know that she can handle herself given all that she’s shown you up to this point. You’re both less than a dozen feet away from the Terror now as it continues to slowly make its way closer to the rift, now about fifteen or so feet away and with every step it takes you can hear it’s exoskeleton cracking and groaning under the weight put on the limbs, not to mention the damage that you’ve already caused has sprouted three new tentacles which puts the total to a grand total of twenty-eight eyeball fire tentacles. As you both approach, you giving Helena a birth and continuing towards the side of the beast, eyes from all sides of the Terror lock onto you and Helena and glow red before launching their assault on you both – you and Helena both sidestep, dodge, duck, weave, and jump to avoid the balls of fire with great success as the only two things that happen are yours and Helena’s continue splashes of water as you move and the evaporation and sizzling as said water submits to the will of the flame. Just as you and Helena, who are on the side and front of the Terror, respectively, reach close to it the blasted abominations entire body lights up in a fiercely bright red hue as it stamps all of its eight legs at once… and then the water around it starts to steam and evaporate as it releases a violent fiery shockwave. Helena hunkers down to her knees with her arms in front of her to block the attack while you see the attack coming a mile away and, just as the fire spreads outward, you skid to a halt and double time it backwards, outpacing the shockwave as it flows out a few feet, doing absolutely nothing against you and Helena in the process. “Now it’s my turn” Helena says with a sinister undertone to her as she rises, makes one last mad dash for the Terror, and jumps at the abomination once she less than six feet away. She launches herself in the air with incredible force, right arm wound back and her hand curled into a fist as she yells a battle cry before slamming her fist square into the spider’s face… or what’s left of it rather.

The force of the blow causes something from deep within the beast to let out a strange guttural roar of pain, and it actually takes a step back which crumples its back right leg and causing another eye tentacle to sprout out. “You’re nothing back a useless sack of shit! Terror my ass!” Helena taunts the beast, which has th effect of drawing nearly every onto her. Well, she certainly knows how to get someone, or something’s, attention you think as you seize the opportunity to quickly close the gap once more. You watch as Helena puts her fists up as no less than eight eye tentacles turn on her and glow a bright red before releasing a barrage of large fireballs at her at close range. Helena manages to back up far enough to avoid the first two fireballs, however, she’s not quick enough to evade the other six – she realizes this and puts her arms up in front of her face in defense and dropping to one knee to make herself a smaller target as one, two, three, five, six large balls of fire slam into her arms and fists, pushing her back a little with each blast as the red hot fire slams into her and burns bits of her Gi away at the arms, breast, and even the legs as the flames reach blow outwards upon impact. You see this happen and a rage fills you – you scream and finally run up on the spider, dropping into your aura sight and spot the glow blue threads that line its form. You pick the one nearest to you and reach out with your left hand, but not after you punish it with a strike from your lightning whip. Yellow electricity arcs across the beasts body and another guttural scream from deep inside reaches your eyes right before you gather some of your magic up and, aiming at the threads, you insert just enough to plug the entire flow. You watch with a smile as the flow ceases and the beast, as it becomes wholly aware that it’s magic is gone, falls into a panicked frenzy and stomps its feet, cracking the exoskeleton while the tentacles writhe uncontrollably even as electricity wracks the entirety of its form, its eyes looking about in all directions hopelessly. That taken care of you quickly rush over to Helena and, despite burn holes in her Gi along her arms, legs, and breasts – with her right breast nearly being exposed – and minor burns along her arms, legs, right breast, stomach, and, she looks otherwise fine… and angry.

“Fuck that burns like a motherfucker!” Helena says in a rage as she looks up at the writhing beast with hate in her eyes. “No more magic?” she asks without taking her eyes off the panicked, deranged creature – “No more magic” you say dryly in response, watching the anger seethe from Helena. “Good. Let’s put it out of its misery” she finishes before she yells another war cry, winding up her left arm and launching herself forward in a powerful punch aimed right at the front right leg of the beast, utterly destroying it. She quickly dives out of the way as the already weakened limb snaps like a twig, sprouting yet another useless tentacle from the remains as it falls forward. You follow Helena’s lead just as the electricity dies down and, without any magic to defend itself, it is rather useless as the tentacles can’t even reach close enough to do anything – before you and Helena really start to punish the “Terror” you see fear in its many eye tentacles as it knows what will come next. You wind up your left arm and, with a crack of your lightning whip, you strike down on the beast once again and make it roar in pain. Helena goes to work throwing a flurry of punches one of another along the front of the beast, caving the black flesh in with every punch she throws as her anger rises and gives fuel to her punches – the tentacles, despite being electrified, try desperately to bat at her physically, but are nothing more than annoyances against Helena’s body as she shrugs it off and continues to bound as black blood starts to spew from the wounds she’s causing. You follow up with another lightning whip strike from your right hand, sending the malleable whip crashing down along a large grouping of tentacle eyes before bringing your hands together and aiming it at an even larger mass of tentacles, glowing in a semi-bright blue light before releasing an arc of blue frost out at the gathering. The Terror does not like that one bit as the howl that comes from it is almost deafening as you literally freeze over half of the tentacles along the front and top of its body. Helena seizes the opportunity and mounts grabs the nearest frozen tentacle… and yanks it right off, causing black blood to spurt from the stump and making it howl once more, though slightly quieter, in pain. “I’ll tear you limb from fucking limb you piece of shit!” Helena rages as as starts grabbing, yanking, and removing the beast tentacle eye by tentacle eye which, quite frankly, scares you a little.

Okay, really don’t get on Helena’s bad side you think as a few beads of sweat form around your brow, before refocusing and winding your arms back before slashing down in an “X” with your lightning whips, doing a pirouette twirl and striking once more quickly with your left whip once again. This goes on for a few more seconds and you’ve completely used up the capabilities of the lightning whip on your left hand, the Terror lies before you crumpled, broken, bleeding, electrical burns across its body, black blood oozing from its many wounds, and it barely twitches with life. You and Helena breathe hard and deep as you both catch your breaths after the exertion and watch what little life the creature has left in it fade as it doesn’t even have the strength left to raise a tentacle… and then it starts to melt. “Fucking hells and I thought it was disgusting enough already” Helena complains as she, and you, slowly step back step back as the flesh turns to goo and flows down the drains scattered about the chamber. After about a minute the Terror, even the exoskeleton, has faded away and drained into the clean sewer water to be filtered out. “What do you think it was?” you ask Helena as the last remnants flow away, leaving no trace of what once was a great and terrible monster – “Fuck if I know. Shit, that fucking hurt like all the hells” Helena hisses while flexing her arms and hands at the minor burns across her body. “Here, let me heal you” you offer gently and full of concern as you start to tap into the power of your gold magic crystal, but Helena laughs and shakes her head before replying “Nah, I’m good, babe. The pain’s good – lets me know I’m alive. A few burns and scrapes aren’t going to do me in, not when I have this” Helena takes the gourd from her belt and pops the top, tilting her head back and bringing the business end to her lips and taking a nice, long, well-earned drink that lasts several seconds with very loud gulps. “Ahhhh” Helena breathes out “That hit the spot~. Nothing like a nice drink after a hard fought battle. Alright, go do your thing and I’ll wait right here”. You refit Skin-Walker back to its original state and cock an eyebrow at Helena and ask as you pull out your enchanted rag and clean yourself off before handing it to Helena “My ‘thing’? And I really must insist that I heal you Helena – those burns look painful” – Helena waves you off towards the rift and says “Yeah, your freaky rift touched thing, and yes I’m sure; don’t worry as soon as we’re done here I’ll get myself checked out, but for now I think the pain’ll do me good as a lesson for next time. Now, I want to see how it works so… mosey that cute butt of yours on over to that rift so I can see you in action”. Helena then seems to remember something as she pulls her sack off and digs around in it before tossing your white crystal back at you just as little red ripples into view across the water.

You chuckle and shake your head as you catch the crystal and at the red slime playing in the water around you and Helena before saying “You just want to look at my ass” – Helena shrugs and takes another drink and says “Guilty as charged, but I really do want to see what you can do. Now shoo, go on!” You laugh and stick your tongue out at Helena before turning and walking as provocatively as you can towards your grappling hook before picking it up, bending over to give Helena a good view of your posterior, and then towards the rift which is, admittedly, a little difficult to do considering you’re sore, battered, sweaty, wearing combat gear, and you’re clothes are a little wet from all the water. Still, you tried and that’s what counts – before long you stand before the rift and that same familiar tugging sensation pulls at you and, before you know it, you’re standing in front of the swirling magic portal. Standing closer than any creature should be able to stand without suffering any adverse side effects – you reach out with your right hand and the invisible tattoo on your wrist starts to glow brightly in an emerald glow, as does your eyes. You reach in with your right hand to the rift and watch in awe as your hand goes inside the vortex… and then you step inside. It takes only a moment, but you find yourself standing on nothing at all in a black expanse once more that seems fit to bursting with stars, gaseous clouds, and the wonders of the heavens. This is your second foray in this strange dimension, yet it feels… safe, just like before, like it might be home. At the thought of home a few images pop into your mind and, much to your astonishment, the scenery before you changes drastically into… Leena’s room at the temple of Domina. “Wow…” you say as you marvel at the change, taking in every little detail from the four poster bed to the vanity, then the chests, the armoire, even the table and chairs and the door that leads to the bath and chamber pot. It really does feel like home and you find yourself feeling rejuvenated – you feel your health restored, your magical reserves replenished, your crystals recharged, your abilities available once more… and you feel healthier and your blood burns with magic, a telltale sign that your magical reserves have increased.

You go over to the armoire and open it, somewhat surprised to discover that every article of clothing that Leena kept in here is still there. You then proceed to jump on the bed, go into the bathing area, check the chests, and inspect every nook and cranny of the room and, after exhaustive examination, you conclude that everything is just as you remembered it to be sparing no expense to detail. “Now, let’s see if outside is any different” you say to yourself as you approach the door that should lead into the temple of Domina proper – you hold your hand out, turn the knob, and open the door. When the door flies open instead of the temple of Domina that you would expect, you instead find yourself looking into a room that, all things considered, you wouldn’t actually be surprised if it was in a temple of Domina. It has a finely made red carpet, is very spacious, has walls stained in a deep brown paint – the only thing out of place, well one of the things out of place, is that it only has two doors, including the one that you just opened, and three rifts on the inside. You step into the room, but quickly perk up at the sound of a door closing, causing you to look back behind you only to see the door that you just stepped out of closed. You place your hand on the knob to turn it, but find that it’s locked before turning back to the rifts and saying to yourself “Guess that means I have to choose”. You approach the rifts and stand a few feet away from them, gazing into the swirling grey vortexes before you attentively as if seeking to glean any answers from them. Much to your surprise you do get answers, of a sort, in the form of strange images that involve… you, which appear from each of the three rifts. You look at the left rift first and see yourself as you are now – wearing your trench coat, Skin-Walker, carrying your backpack, bow, and blades – with your red hair in a ponytail and your green eyes glowing like a firefly in the dead of night. You watch as you pull out your blades, surrounded by masked bandits in a grassy field. You count seven bandits in all against you and they’re all very well equipped in the finest steel, leather, chainmail, and with the finest weaponry money and talent can afford. You honestly don’t know how you could possibly survive such an encounter as you watch yourself in this rift scan each of the bandits that have you surrounded… and you see yourself smile, your shimmering red lips confident and relaying power. You wonder why you would smile in such a dire situation, and then you gasp in shock as you see yourself disappear in a blue mist, only to reappear behind one of the bandits wearing leather in another blue haze – literally disappearing and reappearing right behind him – before you drive your short sword through his back and through his heart, red and warm blood running down your enchanted blade.

This, quite understandably, surprises the remaining six bandits and, before they can even move a muscle, you disappear in a blue haze once more and reappear in front of another bandit, quickly backhanding your dagger in your left hand and swiping high, quick and deadly. You cut the throat of the second bandit in an instant, red blood spraying out from the wound and, before the blood ever hits the ground and without even looking, you disappear yet again and end up behind a third bandit and sink your blades into either of his shoulders… and then you’re off again. Again, again, and again you see yourself disappear and reappear in front of, behind, or to the side of the bandits in fractions of a second until each of them is felled, leaving their blood and their bodies lying on the grass with you alone surviving the onslaught that you led. The scene quickly changes and you see yourself running and jumping across rooftops – Kilnhaven perhaps? – being chased by what you assume to be three assassins based on their black clothing, masks, and unique weaponry. You jump across one roof to the next until you find yourself faced with an impossible jump of roughly fifteen, maybe twenty, feet. Yet again you see yourself smirk as you continue running, watching yourself jump the chasm as your arms and legs flail about in a windmill motion. You judge that you might have jumped maybe half the distance… and then in a blue haze you disappear and reappear on the area that you were aiming for and continue running until you slip off the roof and into the darkness of the alleyways. Another scene shows you climbing a rocky wall without many footholds as they are few and far between and, just like the other scenes shown, you watch yourself disappear and reappear in a blue haze along the rocky wall, reappearing maybe ten feet away farther up the wall to better footholds followed by a scene of you skulking in the shadows and moving about as potential threats get closer to you… and then the scene ends. You turn your attention to the next rift, the one in the middle and see yourself as you are now yet again in the scene of the grassy field surrounded by masked bandits, except now some of them have staffs with magical crystals on the top which signifies them as mages of some sort. Again, you see yourself draw your blades and smile, but this time instead of disappearing and reappearing you instead release some sort of power that creates a strange grey mist around you.

Afterwards, a battle ensues between you and the seven bandits – you twirl, slice, dice, slash, thrust, and cut against the overwhelming force as this strange grey mist surrounds you, dealing damage to some of the bandits in the process. Yet, you don’t come out unharmed as in the last vision as the bandits, wielding both blade and blunt objects along with spells, attack you. You get cut, stabbed, smacked, wacked, burned, and electrocuted yet you don’t seem to be in as much pain or trouble as you might imagine – you watch the scene unfold and upon closer inspection you see that for every strike made against you, you don’t seem to suffer as grievous of wounds as would be expected and curiously enough the bandits seem to be hurting themselves with every attack. A mage throws a spell at you – an ice spear – and it plants itself right in your lower back, almost hitting your backpack – under any other circumstance you would expect yourself to fall over in pain or die outright, yet aside from a cry of pain you don’t make much of a fuss and you watch as the ice spear slowly pushes out of your back with a minimal blood, and then you watch as the bandit mage in question cries out in pain, the scene shifting to his back and you’re surprised to see that blood starts to form on the back of his robes. You continue to watch this unfold and as you suffer these wounds the bandits seem to suffer them right along with you, except you don’t seem to take the full amount of damage that you normally would. Eventually the scene ends with you standing alone, the victor, yet unlike before you’re definitely bloodied, bruised, and hurt, but still that same smile and confidence remains as blood drips from your blades and body, yet again not as much as you would expect given the amount of punishment you suffered. The scene ends and, unlike the other rift, nothing else appears within so you turn your attention to the final rift. Again, the same scene unfolds except this time you don’t unsheathe your blades and instead you start to crackle with green, almost electrical, energy – you then aim your hands out and start to glow in a dim yellow light before releasing two lightning bolts out towards two of the bandits… except these lightning bolts are twice as large as they should be. When they slam into the two bandits they scream a shrill cry of agony – you watch as you then glow in a dim blue light before your ice shield envelops your body, but it looks tougher somehow like it could absorb more damage. You watch the scene unfold and, for every spell currently at your disposal, you notice that your spells seem to be bigger and pack more punch, but all too soon you seem to run out of juice so you pull out your blades and perform the finishing touches on the bandits before the scene ends.

So you think It looks like I have a choice if that other door is any indication. You look to the other closed door in the room and walk over to it, testing to see if it’s locked. The door is indeed locked so you turn back and walk back over to the rifts and think Yep, looks like I need to choose before I can get out of here. I guess when I, what, walk into them then I get whatever power was shown to me? Heh, would it be too much to ask to have all three I wonder? Ah, well, it looks like I have a choice to make – so, will it be “blinking” around, a “backlash” that reduces the damage I take and deals it back in return, or “overcharging” my spells?

New Rift location discovered! Rift location: Kilnhaven, Eborthia: Sewer Depths

Blink: Blink up to ten feet away silently, instantaneously, and without virtually any visual indication whatsoever. Can be used in combat to get behind enemies, get to better positions, to flee, or some other ways left to the imagination. Can be used while sneaking to avoid detection or get to better positions, and can be used any time outside of combat to aid in traversing terrain. (35 MR each use. When used in combat to back attack enemies each attack counts as a sneak attack critical, dealing more damage than normal).

Backlash: Punish your enemies for ever daring to attack you – every attack taken against you by an assailant will have reduced damage and deal damage back to the assailant in punishment. It won’t protect your clothes and armor, but it will keep you from suffering the full force of an attack and thus keeping you alive/conscious longer. (70 MR activation. Lasts 5 minutes. Magical shield/mist cuts all damage in half and half the damage of any attack against you will be reflected back at the attacker, both magical and physical).

Overcharge: Overcharge turns your spells into devastating version of their original selves at the cost of a higher toll taken on your magical reserves and crystal charges. Every spell used with overcharge will be much more devastating than normal at an increased cost. (No MR usage. Specification required when using with spells. Only works using conventional magic i.e. fire, ice, light, lightning, water, etc. When specified with a magic the magic cost is increased by 1 crystal charge or MR usage is increased by 50%. Thus a spell requiring 1 charge will now require 2 charges or one requiring 30 MR will now require 45 MR. Spells deal double damage and effects such as ice shield have their strength doubled. The only exception is level 4/4 spells which will require all the charges of a crystal and half of your total MR for a truly devastating spell).

Sure, Colette’s buffed up during this fight and Helena already has some pretty good stats going for her, but the Terror had some serious advantages going for it in terms of stats and the arsenal at its disposal! The rolls for the Terror were just… abysmal doesn’t even cut it, people. Doesn’t. Even. Cut. It. I just… wow; all I can say is wow. Alright, rant over, back behind my GM board I go.

Character/Environment Interaction explanation
The Character/Environment Interaction system allows you to interact with the world around you as well as interact with Colette or other characters in the story. Want to have Colette tie her hair up? Then choose this along with the main choices. Want her to stow away a stone, or tie up a bad guy with a rope? Go right ahead! Maybe you're in the middle of a fight and feel that clothing is too cumbersome. You can put on make-up, put clothes on and take clothes off, kick over a bucket, slap a succubus' ass.
Don't go too crazy, though. If it's a bit outlandish then unfortunately I might not be able to use it. Other than that, be creative guys and gals!

Magical Sensitivity (Threads): Thanks to an experiment done by Jazra you can now see the magical threads that are the blood of magic in the world, and can possibly manipulate them.

Source of Energy: Magical monsters and beings that feed from your essence (blood and sexual secretions) gain more energy than normal from you and also suffer a short term power boost.

Dancer: Dancing comes naturally to you and, while it may not have uses in combat or when talking to someone, you find you can learn dances by seeing others dance or learning descriptions of dance.

Mental Quickness: You're a quick thinker when it comes to solving problems and smart to boot! If you're in a pinch you can easily notice potential escape routes, item and weapon combinations, optimal tactics to attack and defend in combat, how best to enter a building, etc. (I'll give helpful information and suggestions on how to handle situations, but not too much).

Charismatic: If you've got it, flaunt it! You know you're pretty, and you've always been a leader. You can use your feminine wiles to seduce both men and women alike and persuade them to your line of thinking, or you can use your natural charisma to rally troops into battle and improve morale with your strong words and character! Heck, you could probably charm the doors of Mordor open and simply walk in! (Increase Charm skill by 1 rank, people will like you more, and desire you more, you will be more inspiring to others when you speak, you're naturally more sexier).

Feedback: When you get too close to rifts there's a chance that you will lose 10 MR and deal minor health damage. Health damage will never kill or knock you out.

Milk Addict: You’ve drunk a lot of milk and you have developed a preference, close to a need, for the thick, creamy substance. You’ll still drink other liquids, but you greatly prefer milk for some reason if given the choice. You’ll find that you have a craving and thirst for milk and, while no negative health effects will occur if you don’t get some, you’ll find that you’ll perform better slightly in all the things you do for a time.

Heart of Gold: You are an extremely kind and caring individual; you absolutely love to help children and those in need. You give of yourself freely to others and ask for nothing in return and always try to be a good person no matter what. You also offer to help, even when it was never asked of you to begin with. Loving and caring is second nature to you; you are compassionate, loving, and serene and as a result more people will like you and it will be easier to charm others because of your gentle and loving nature.

Rift Travel: You have discovered the power, whether from being Rift Touched, the silver bracelet, or a combination of both that you can now travel through rifts to the Rift Plane. From the Rift Plane you may travel through other rifts scattered about the pocket dimension that are connected to the real world rifts, allowing you to travel over vast distances so long as you have discovered the rifts for each location. I.E. Say you come into contact with a rift in Kilnhaven, Eborthia and a rift in Lumin, Eborthia. You can jump into the Kilnhaven rift and come out the Lumin rift with virtually no time passing between the two. There are also other rifts that may allow you to gain unique powers if you find them…

Mental Fortitude Expert: As a result of training with Astraea you have developed an expert understanding of shielding your mind against mental probes and attacks, as well as having majorly increased your natural magical reserves in the process. You can withstand basic, mild, and sometimes major levels of mental assaults, but anything higher or prolonged and you will not succeed.

Increased Attraction: You received a blessing at the temple of Lequis on your undergarments and now people find you more attractive than you originally were. (Requires Lequis Blessed thong, garter belt, bra, and stockings being worn).

Increased Persuasion: You received a blessing at the temple of Lequis on your undergarments and now you’re slightly more persuasive in conversations. (Requires Lequis Blessed thong, garter belt, bra, and stockings being worn)

Quicker Reflexes: You received a blessing at the temple of Lequis on your undergarments and now you have slightly faster reflexes, allowing you to dodge attacks better and avoid danger. (Requires Lequis Blessed thong, garter belt, bra, and stockings being worn).

Camouflage: You received a blessing at the temple of Yyssbo on your Midnight Black Hooded Trench Coat which allows you to blend in with your surroundings when sneaking and remaining stationary or moving slowly. Dual Wielding Master: You have a extreme amount of experience wielding two weapons at once. Dual wielding allows you to attack with two one-handed weapons at once, essentially doubling the damage you do. At present you are extremely skilled and find it easy to hit enemies in combat without any negative effects to your chances to hit. You don’t need any more practice to wield two weapons at once effectively.

Pleasure Resistance Master: You have learned to resist pleasure at a masterful level, and are capable of maintaining your cool under extreme sexual pleasure. However, only the most extremely skilled partners and/or very prolonged pleasure break down your resistance, though you can maintain your cool for a very long period of time.

Dexterity Trained – Flexibility and Ranged Hits: You’ve been trained by Delilah on how to be more dexterous. While it’s not the full dexterity workout, it does allow you to perform hits better with ranged weaponry. You’re also more flexible as a result, just like a gymnast or contortionist!

Blessing of Kramulet: You’ve received a blessing at the temple of Kramulet on yourself, permanently increasing your MR by 30 and gaining the ability to learn magic from magic crystals at a much faster rate than normal.

Blood Magic: You’ve learned to use the dangerous art of blood magic, allowing you to draw on your very life force to cast spells instead of from charges or your magical reserves. Life drained is proportional to the strength of the spell via magical reserves used. The more magic required the more life drained – be warned as this can kill you if you’re not careful!

Evasive Techniques: Delilah of the temple of Domina has taught you the art of evading enemies, both in and outside of combat. Gives a minor boost to dodge and sneak at all times.

True Heart: You’ve completed the trials at the temple of Domina and have found your true heart. Your heart and soul are aligned, which has given you greater confidence, self-assurance, and strength of character. It will be nearly impossible for others to try and change you as a result, unless of course you absolutely want it. Moderate boost to mental fortitude.

Skin-Walker: You’re blessed bodysuit, blessed at the temple of Domina, has seven unique attributes tied to the blessing. On top of being nearly indestructible and capable of keeping you and itself clean. The blessings allow Skin-Walker to become nearly any article of clothing, within reason, changing its shape through your will and imagination.
