Hey anyone who reads this, I've (after some conversations on the glorious shoutbox) decided to try my hand at running an AdEVA 2.5 game for ULMF formites.
For those of you who don't knwo what AdEVA 2.5 is, its short for Adeptus Evangelion 2.5. A fan made modified Dark Heresy rules system for the Evangelion setting to be played.
Some basics:
1. This game does not have to be played in Japan, infact as it is I've got a few different ideas for the starting city.
Vancouver-2: The devastation that followed Second Impact has caused significant damage to most of the world. The entire Eastern Seaboard of the United States lays underwater, along with most of the West and great planes. As a result Canada, which is now a swampy constantly raining country, has risen to become the North American lead power. The new city of Vancouver-2 built over the ruins of the original Vancouver and connected to what still above water parts of Vancouver Island that are left, has become one of the largest military ports for the new power.
Setting: Naval Base, All units start with C-Type Armour, Naval Support units available
Minsk: Formerly the capital of the short lived nation of Belerus, post Second Impact Minsk is now a military fortress for the Russian Union, providing R&D for the Union along with a protective barrier against possible European Incursion.
Setting: Normal, Extra Allied Support Available
Anti-Angel Strike Team 1: NERVs first, and only, mobile base of operations. Consisting of the finest equipment the UN could offer, AA.S.T. 1 is capable of travelling anywhere in the world to battle Angel attacks thanks to hover carriers and other similar (and very expensive) vehicles.
Setting: Mobile Base, Only VTOL and Turrets on base, No Umbilical Cables other then base.
If players have any other idea pitch them forward and I'll put them up here (as long as they are reasonable).
2. This game is very deadly. Your fate points are likely going to be spent fast even with careful planning. Angels are capable in many cases of crippling or killing a EVA in a single turn and they do not play fair. Only through teamwork will you have any hope of winning, and expect to roll up a new character at some point.
3. At the moment the plan is to run this over Maptools so if you guys want to pitch a time (in GMT) go ahead. It just has to be sometime after 0:30AM GMT on the weekdays, and 19:00PM GMT on the weekends (though my weekends are much more flexible as far as time is concerned)
I'm hoping for a minimum of 3 players, maximum of (at this time) 5 characters. I may increase this later pending the situation.
Edit cause I realized I forgot to mention such things:
Basic Rundown of Characters and Professions (no stats will be here just run downs)
Character Types:
Neo-Spartan: Asuka, these guys make up the Pointmen and the Skirmishers usually, good combat stats, eeeh sync ratio
Manufactured: Rei, cheap, disposable, and able to sync up with their EVA fairly well, make good AT specialists but can also do Skirmisher fairly well.
Prodigy: Shinji, capable of filling most of the rolls quite well, though they make especially good Berserkers, watch out though, they tend to go crazy the fastest.
Impact Survivor: Misato, survivors of the Second Impact these characters do not make good EVA pilots (though they technically can pilot). This is more or less reserved to the Operations Director and a few special cases.
Professions:
Skirmisher: Asuka, the unit sniper/heavy gunner/etc. Very good at range, ok at doing melee damage, not very good at taking hits.
Pointman: Rei, Stone Walls, can take alot of punishment (even when their AT field is down), can't dish much back except at melee ranges
Beserker: Shinji, your EVA goes berserk easier, I don't think I need to tell anyone who has seen the show about why this is (usually) a good thing. Just make sure you don't kill your allies in the process
Operations Director: Misato, you run the ground troops and keep all the EVAs supplied. Don't expect much glory out of this but when done right can be a very vital member of the team.
