So after reading a bunch of these posts, I assume this is another game I should skip since its buggy as hell?

Latest version with fixes is bugless as far as I got (mid-game) Previous version were indeed buggy as hell.

I've also read elsewhere of players picking up max-socket items in easy mode. I'm not sure what to think of it though.

セーラー服のスロット4なら初心者モードで拾ったよ? I believe that' false. The reason why is when you pick up a that cloth from a chest, it appears as 4-slotted, when you identify it, it in fact has no slots. But if he in fact did get one, I will be jealous as hell

False. I've fought the wild hunt going both directions to and from the city gates. I've had him turn up as early as 5 levels in on my way to my final destination.

Confirmed on the above in terms of both direction. In fact, you can encounter multi-boss on one run (not same floor thank heavens.

Rant:
I just faced the same boss twice in underwater instance. And on the second, I got trolled by boss + same amount of mobs as a monster festival in the same room, with open space at entrance so I cannot limit number of mobs I had to face.

Was doing fine until PC's cloth got stripped and penetrated. That's what I get for using silted undies for stats *fp* it was instant ko and I had to restart the run since I was doing a perfect virgin run. There goes my slotted dog collar ;-;

Glad to see the URL I provided is actually being used by some people. As for multi-boss encounters, I've taken out the minotaur on one occasion in the space of 5 consecutive floors.

I've had one instance where I faced the hippo in a BIG square monster room with no bottlenecks. Getting out of there whilst remaining chaste relies on equipment on hand (scrolls are a lifesaver) and exploiting long-jump as much as possible in order to make it to the corner. In the corner you can only get hit from 3 directions which is far more manageable than being surrounded.

If you got a socketed dog collar, then it contradicts your earlier statement that equipment max number of slots is actually one less than that displayed on the item list. Why should accessories be any different from the rest of the equipment?!

I agree with the contradiction. No idea, I equipped it and it has 1 slot. But I haven't slotted anything on it. So I guess accessory is different or I got (un-)lucky on that run.

Then again, accessory +0/1 slot is definitely easier to appear than weapons/clothing with max slots. Since it drops very often and and 1 slot is already max.

Lucky you with the slotted accessory. More help is always welcome on the essence front.

Anyone figured out what the hell is up with the 乙女 essence? Very rare drop from the automaton but I can't sell it and it only combines with other essences. Description mentions something about its use in defensive equipment but neither outfits nor underwear will take the essence.

I don't think my Japanese is bad, but I can't be misreading it so badly that I can mistake defensive equipment for something else. Anyway, a screenshot is in the attachment.

I can't see your picture very well, but is that weapon without sockets by default? If it is, it is rather disappointing since two sockets at least would allow for knockback and stun which firearms require for consistent fire.

Fusion weapon (Crossfire) doesn't allow sockets, my previous weapon before fusion has 3 slots and the slotted essence are ignored. On the other hand, it has its own auto-holy and passive damage bust skill.

In terms of that essence. *jaws drop* there's no description for it at all! Its for armor, but it has no effects (Not implemented?) If it doesn't work for a slotted maid uniform, then I would guess its not implemented.

Oh, I got a slotted necktie now, so accessory's max slot is definitely doable.

Crossfire probably only works after the game has been patched, I've made it to the dwarf workshop but the option still won't come up...

What level is your PC right now? I'm getting socketed equipment just wandering around but have yet to see any accessory turn up with a socket.

With upgrades+1 at the drawfs, you won't ever have enough. (+10 to +11 for a boot = 2k etc. Just for +0.3 more stats ._. now repeat that for all your armor and your looking at 20k+)

You can put them in the wooden crate at the savepoints.
Then you won't take them with you, but you have spares for the case that you fail in any of the dungeons.
I would advice to just hit F12 when you get raped however...

Normal, 妖怪大魔境 is ridiculous since you reset to level 1 each time you enter a safe zone in exchange for a etc payment which is no where close to covering the repair costs associated with this difficulty level.

I believe DragonPaladin is referring to the patched version where the dwarf can upgrade equipment status in exchange for copious amounts of etc.

Normal for both of us, hard is kinda bs in that it resets your level every run. Even though most of your stats comes from gears, hp and mp bank are dependent on PC's level. You can do fast regen on mp, but you still need a good enough hp bank.

Not possible to know gear exp, but it should be enough whenever you repair it from near broken. You can only upgrade it at the drawfs, and even for me who concentrates upgrading, couldn't do more than +3/+4 on my gears due to etc restriction. I usually save only slotted +5/+6 gears and use scrolls at +9 and onward.

Pre-patch the exp rate is low though, (I remember that my early version doesn't work for anything other than sister robe.) Its more noticeable after patch. Like if I am repairing from 2/24 to 24/24 I know I have enough.

Note that you need the latest version from Jap Dlsite before you can apply the patches from author's websites. (There's 5 mini patch in total)

So the PC can focus on 3 primary stats:
Strength (First stat) There's sword with 150% strength boost to raw damage. But it does not affect gun damage at all.
On the other hand, Giant enchant gives a 10% boost to strength and hp at cost of 10% accuracy and your raw damage becomes fairly impressive. (I am at 123 raw dmg with a +6 granite blade)

Magic (3rd stat) - Affects all art damage, but there's only one weapon that's 20% skill and 20% based on magic though.
Basically a lot of art spams, as long as you are using arts for damage you are fine. Normal damage, especially dual wield is unimpressive to say the least. (Until you get the clock engine necklace, which gives a passive magic 15% boost to your raw attack.)
Magic enhance gives 10% boost and 14% mp regen at cost of 10% max hp, vit regen and hp regen.

Skill (5th stat) - Guns have 40% skill boost to raw damage. Piercing melee weapon and Foxtail, Night stalker have 40% skill boost on top of 100% strength. It allows you to melee/range with perfect accuracy and do ridiculous damage. 10% boost of Lv3 stats boost has no negative effect.
Its the most important stat in the game and you should have a decent amount on your PC regardless of build.

Essence Wise:
Lv3 of an essence is the highest you can get for elemental and raw stats. 4x Lv1 has the same effect as a Lv1 + a Lv2 essence of the same type. For against type, status effect, status prevention, max is Lv2 (Unconfirmed on against against type/status prevention)

Stats Essense
Lv1 - Add Stats, Lv2 - Add Stats x2, Lv3 - Add stats x2, gain +10% passive with varying effects
Elemental Essense
Lv1 - Follow-up elemental attack, Lv2 - 50% elemental damage, Lv3 - Lv1+Lv2 effect. (Unsure if 50% elemental damage is added on top, or used for resistance calculation)
Against Type (Stacks with weapon's against type bonus)
Lv1 - 25%, Lv2 - 50%, Lv3 - Unknown
Status Effect (on weapons)
Lv1 - 24% for darkness, stun, paralysis, 30% on push back, unknown (100%?) for poison (Interestingly enough, poison on the jade daggers gives 120% poison)
Lv2 - 42% for darkness, stun, paralysis, 50% on push back, unknown for poison
Status Prevention
Lv1 - 10%, Lv2 - 20%, Lv3 - Unknown

Note: Passive buff from Lv3 Stats Essence does not stack if they are the same.
