AFAIK:
-Apparently it is indeed DRM'ed. I think it's done the same way SKUNK III was done though?
-Yes, erotan's talked about doing updates towards it as need be. If nothing else, the English translation, and bug patches, with possible game function patches (such as for free mode, selecting a girl yourself).
-I think he's charging that much because it's not all in house. Him, mo2, oyatsumk2, and then a few gals for the voices. Even I'm going to admit though that $20 bucks is pretty steep regardless, including that after about...I want to say 3 hours or so, it becomes freeplay mostly.

Admittedly, I have a non DRM copy, but can't share, for obvious reasons.

YEAH...that's the other part about this isn't it? None of the gals are over 18 outright, so even if the DRM was bypassed, you chances are wouldn't get your links here anyway thanks to loli.

Well, I've done my part at least. Given you guys the fullest info on this game and translating stuff between mo2 and erotan towards you guys. Not much else I can do at this stage outside of letting them know about how you guys feel about the DRM and the price point ( that I have, waiting for response ).

the 20 dollar price is high, mainly cause to get the game with drm protection, he has to pay extra to dlsite, so instead of them taking like 50% for their cut of the sales, they take like an addiontal 20% or so, so 70% seems to go to dlsite, and the other 30% is his, so 6 bucks for the game isn't a high price, it's just the other part that made it raise it's price, lolol

What DLSite does is basically what 7-eleven, Walmart, or whatever your supermarket does.

They acts as the market, so game makers don't have to go through:
Setting up payment process
Finding server to upload it on
Advertising their game
etc

All those are done for, so while admittedly 50-70% cut is kinda steep, the total income is still probably higher using distribution channel like these than trying to sell on their own.

eh? dlsites drm? well there goes my purchase >.> Dlsite drm games never work on my computer must be vista or something. Shame seemed like a fun game. (plus that 20 dollar price tag, most steam indie games don't even cost that much).

Wonder if they could do something like kyrieru, I've bought both of his games due to the way he sold them.

Towards anyone still interested in this:

Erotan got back towards me a bit ago and let me know a few more things.

- It should be on English DLsite between today and tomorrow (latest this weekend?). He put it into processing for both at the same time, so he doesn't know why it was stalled. He's sorry for the delay thought. He didn't answer if the English DLsite version will have DRM or not though, so I can only assume it will. :/
- The English Translation he 'predicts' will be done within around a weeks time (from today), maybe a little more or less. Again, the hope is to package that as an 'update' towards English DLsite, so if you buy it now, no need to buy it again. He did note that it's kinda hard for him currently.

Again, if anyone has any questions to ask him, pass them my way and I'll shoot them towards him.

Uh lipucd if you dont' mind, tell him that I remember his website from few years ago while I was collecting characters for mugen game I was surprised to see that he made a game XD And I really love the retro art that he's making for the characters, I think it's pretty awesome. It reminds me of old manga like Sarai and many more xD

Uh lipucd if you dont' mind, tell him that I remember his website from few years ago while I was collecting characters for mugen game I was surprised to see that he made a game XD And I really love the retro art that he's making for the characters, I think it's pretty awesome. Sure thing! Yeah, he did Ran-Oh and Minotaur, and he's always kinda had that 'style' with his sprite work. He did 'most' of the artwork for the game, while Popful Mail, Tron, Koru's and maggots are mo2's doing.

Having to pay 4 dollars for DRM seems pretty high to me.

I don't know how DLsite does pricing outright sadly, so I can't say how true that statement is or not. I could ask erotan though how the pricing for the DRM was and see if he's willing to answer that or not.

We'll know soon enough. I shot him the question regardless. Again, can't really speak much on the matter, but it does seem like they where trying to garner a few bucks from this (Selling for ~$12, making it ~$20 at the end. ), witch again, chances are comes from the fact that a good chunk of this wasn't in house. It's erotan's game, but I doubt mo2 and the like did their roles for free. >w>

They should have known drm would have reduced the number of sales. I mean having to check in with your dlsite account really does make it feel that you don't own the game, but rather you're just "renting it." It's just very poor business practice, piracy or not.

it's got like over 1000 downloads, I'm one of em and all i can say is OMG that Minotaur is god damn scary. he comes thru the damn walls to rape you and force you to have his babies.
