Re: Amarant: Unknown Path

Probably not a great idea to walk around wet and confused. Also not a great idea to get your weapon or ammunition in more water.

B) Find a bridge later.
A) Dry out clothing now.

Minor actions: Find two reasonably sized rocks (or anything similar), extend the rope between them, and hang the clothing on the makeshift line. Load your revolver with two more rounds.
This.

Minor action: Take the extra shirt out of the bag, let it dry while we walk. And the bullet stuff that's good too

What we're wearing should dry a little as we walk because of our body heat. If it's night and misty, then our clothes won't dry just because we take them off, in fact they will probably dry more slowly.

EDIT: Now that I think about it, traveling in the dark probably isn't a good idea either, but I'd say time is of the essence so it's a risk we have to take.

Minor action. Wash your clothes in the water before drying it because it really sucks when your clothes have sand in it when it dries because it starts to irritate your skin.

Pretty much the same, but I'd tie the rope between two trees, not rocks. Also, I'd unload the revolver and make sure it was dry before reloading it; same for the ammo. It would suck if we tried to fire a wet gun. We did learn basic firearm maintenance from Flint and Tinder, right?

Also, since we are here, we may as well try to rinse the dirt out of our clothes before setting them to dry. And, if we have any way of cutting the rope, attaching the hook to the length of it not being used as a clothesline. Otherwise, attach the hook anyway. The hook is kind of useless by itself.
These, and try and wash our clothes as best we can.

No real time for an in depth scan for typos, in a bit of a rush at the moment! Enjoy!

B, A
Minor actions:
-Use rope to create clothesline to hand our clothes on after we wash them.
-Try to dry ammunition and then reload.

The idea of trekking through the wilderness while drenched and covered with muck doesn’t sound too appealing. You decide to take the time you have and dry your clothes after you wash them. You grab your bag and set out towards the treeline. The rope in your bag should act as a sturdy enough clothesline for your clothes to dry on. Hopefully the air is enough to dry them in a timely manner.

You look around a bit and eventually find two trees a good distance apart. You set your bag down and open it, laying out the items so that they can dry as well. You then stand and detach the rope form your belt, unraveling it and then making your way to one of the trunks. You toss it around and grasp the end with your other hand. You flip it around the rest of the rope and pull, trying your best to fashion a sturdy knot. You step back satisfied and the loop positioned just above your head. You repeat the same process with the other tree and then take off your boots, gloves, and stockings. You set the gloves and the boots down against the tree and drape the stockings up and over the makeshift clothesline along with your bag. You then undo your belt and drop it, along with the attached pouches and holster, against the tree as well.

Now barefoot, you make your way back over towards the water’s edge, stopping where the grass meets the sand. The grass pricks your feet, the dead blades almost crunching as you take each step. You slip your arms out of your duster and remove it, gently placing it down on the grass, along with your vest. You then unhook the back of your skirt, allowing the fabric to fall to your feet. You step out of the circle of cloth and then go about the tedious process of unbuttoning your blouse. You finish with the last one but pause as you go to remove it.

It feels weird lacking this much clothing. Sure, you’ve probably been completely naked before but technically this is your first time you’ve ever even taken your duster off, let alone the rest of your clothes. A certain feeling of vulnerability starts to come over you. You hesitate at first but eventually shake your head and go back to removing your ruined blouse, casually tossing it to the side, leaving you there, your lingerie the only thing covering you.

You cross your arms over your chest and can’t help but turn your head and scan the treeline, the fear of someone seeing you nagging at your mind. You look back down to your breasts and see your bra cupping them, a “C” cup by the looks of it. It’s made of black lace, a seductive piece that actually makes you blush a bit as you look at it. You look further down and see that your underwear is the same color. You can’t help but wonder why you’re wearing such attractive pieces, but shake the thoughts from your head before they wander too far. You continue to examine your body and see that you’re actually in wonderful shape: long legs, a slim figure, yet, at the same time, quite fit. You really are quite stunning as you stand there.

You start to feel a bit more comfortable with yourself and finally go to remove what is left. You reach your arms behind your back and unhook your bra, letting it fall down onto the grass. You shiver as your breasts are exposed to the open air, your nipples hardening as a gentle breeze passes over your form. You bite your lower lip and bring an arm up to cover your exposed chest, blushing even more despite being alone. “I’m never going to get used to this.” You think to yourself.

You manage to reassure yourself that you’re completely alone and go to remove your underwear. Slowly, but surely, you force your arms down, slipping your thumbs into the waistline and pushing down the material. The edge folds over and soon the entire piece slides down and over your thighs, the soft silk smooth against skin. You bend down slightly as you then take it past your knees, stepping up and out as it reaches the end of your legs, removing it entirely. You look down and see a small trimmed tuft of hair above your… ahem. You hold on to the underwear and reach down for the rest of your clothing.

You gather up your undergarments, along with your vest, and carry them back to the clothesline to dry. Moving while naked is actually somewhat relaxing. You feel unbound, almost free. Of course, if anyone were around you might have different thoughts on the matter.

You walk back over to where the rest of your clothes lay, getting more used to walking around exposed. Stopping to pick up your duster, skirt, and blouse, you then make your way over to the water. You feel the dirt under your bare feet, the soft soil squelching under your weight. You step into the water so that it comes up to your shins, the cold water coming up to your shins. You kneel down, resting the clothing on your thighs, and then go about dipping each piece into the water and then wiping away any visible dirt. The process goes on for a couple of minutes until you’re satisfied.

You stand up, clothing in hand, and proceed back to the clothesline. You throw each article of clothing on the rope and have just enough room so that they all hang there. Once that’s done you turn back to your belt. “I hope those are oiled…” you think to yourself, hoping the water won’t cause too much damage to your leather items.

You then retrieve your revolver from your bag and sit down next to your belt, opening the pouch containing your ammunition. You take out the two bullets inside and inspect them. They seem to be okay; the bullets are encased in a metallic shell and seem to be completely sealed as far as you can tell. You then open the loading gate for your revolver and load the spare bullets into the cylinder, thinking you might as well keep it loaded… just in case. Between the quality of the bullets, the ease of loading, the rate of fire, and your ammunition capacity, you can easily see why the ammunition for this gun was so expensive, let alone the price of the gun itself. You figure that the flintlock firearm the man possessed on the train was much less expensive than your revolver.

You set the revolver down and bring your knees up to your chest, wrapping your arms around your legs, sitting there with only the sound of the waterfall. You don’t know if you’ll ever get used to the feeling of grass against your bare behind. You try to ignore it best you can and look back up to your wet clothes.

It’s going to take a while for your clothes to dry and you can’t very well proceed without them. You also think about the hook in your bag: you should tie it to the hope, as it is almost useless on its own. You’ll keep in mind to do so after your clothes are done drying.

You let out a sigh and think of some way to pass the time. You turn your head back to the lake.

“Hm…”

You contemplate taking a dip in the lake; it may be a bit cold but a bath could be a bit relaxing, especially after what you’ve been through. You then turn back to the treeline.

“I could see what’s around here… perhaps even procure a bit of food.” You say to yourself.

You don’t feel too hungry but a snack might help.

Or you could simply sit and wait, possibly even catch a bit of shut-eye. Whatever you decide you still don’t know what’s out here in these woods. This clearing seems safe enough but you have no idea what may be lurking further in.

You are relieved to see that it is a bit brighter, though. You assume it either already is or fast approaching dawn. The mist above and below gives the area a hazy overcast; the best way to describe the surrounding scene would be “dark blue”.

You bury your chin back against your folded arms and think of what you can do while your clothes dry.

Choices:
Decide on a course of action.

Primary Vote:

A) Go for a bit of a swim.
B) Carefully explore beyond the treeline.
C) Take a nap.
D) Sit idly and wait for the clothes to dry.

X) Other.

Z) Minor Action. Available.

---

Minor Actions Explanation:
Minor Actions are small actions you may do in addition to your Primary Vote (A, B, C, etc). They will usually just provide you with additional information or perhaps, in rare circumstances, an item. If it would cause an encounter or runs the risk of causing general havoc then it's best to put it as an additional detail under primary vote.

Examples are asking someone a simple question, inspecting an object or feature in the environment, checking on or using an item in your bag, or changing some feature on your person. (i.e. Putting your hair into ponytail - See: Sections explained > Appearance)

They may help you, but please, try not to abuse the system. Trying to examine a couple objects in detail may be fine, but picking every item off the shelf in a store can get a bit... tedious.
And as always: I retain the right to reject them however much it may pain me to do so...

I really want to say A.......

Fine A

Do it by the water's edge so more like a bath than a swim. She should splash water on herself because a full dive is dangerous.

Agreed. But don't go too far into the lake, only as far as we need to go to get clean. And keep the revolver on the shore nearby - so we can make an easy dash for it at the first sign of danger

Re: Amarant: Unknown Path

Sorry about the delayed (and short) response: I was called out on an assignment which took priority.

Results:

A Go for a swim.

You still have a bit of sand and dirt covering your face and you might as well relax while you wait. You decide a dip in the lake might not be such a bad idea. The thought of what might lurk in the lake scares you at first but you’re pretty sure that, even if there is something there, if you don’t stray too far in you’ll be safe.

You stand up and walk down to the water, slowly making your way into the cold water. You give a shudder as you adjust to the temperature, walking in until the water is almost to your hips. You stop and start to kneel; further submerging yourself until the water just about covers your shoulders, wincing a bit as the water passes over the cut on your arm. You raise it out of the water a bit and examine it; it’s scabbed over now, the wound healing surprisingly quickly.

“Couldn’t you have healed the cuts as well…” you mumble to yourself. “Perhaps, whatever power the crystal held only affects major wounds?

You cup your hands to gather up some water and go about washing your face. You close your eyes tight as you feel the splotches of sand washed away. You repeat the process a few more times, letting the water run through your hair, and let out a long sigh as you continue to float there for a couple minutes.

You open your eyes after a while and gaze up to the top of the waterfall; it’s huge, at least a couple hundred feet straight up. You wonder if the man from the train also got washed down here. You chuckle to yourself and think that if he did you may at least be able to get your sword back.

You stay in a couple minutes longer until your fingers start to wrinkle and decide you’ve soaked long enough. You stand back up and try your best to shake off any excess water, running your hands along your limbs, torso, and breasts to wipe it away. You walk up onto the bank and step onto the dead grass once again, making your way back over to your “camp”. You put your hand up to your clothes and try to gauge how dry they are. Probably a couple more minutes…, you think to yourself. You’re about to check on the progress of your other items when you think that you hear the sound of someone talking behind you. You immediately kneel down behind a nearby tree and peak out, looking down the riverbank towards the noise.

Walking up alongside the river you see two small goblins. They’re slightly smaller than Scarper, at about four and a half feet, and also have slightly darker complexions, their skin a dark green. They each carry a spear, which, from the looks of them, are roughly carved of wood and have only a sharpened stone for the tip. They wear very little, only a loincloth covering their privates and each carrying a rough leather bag by the looks of it. At the moment they’re making their way towards you along the riverbank and seem to be talking in some language you don’t recognize. They banter back and forth, occasionally pointing to the river.

They’ll surely notice your camp and, judging from how fast they’re walking, you only have about a minute to decide what to do. You could simply hide, hoping they leave your stuff alone. Brush and other vegetation could provide you with a good hiding spot, or you could even chance going down to the water again. You could even ambush them, killing them before they even have a chance to respond. They may be friendly, though. You could try and communicate with them and hope they aren’t hostile. You simply don’t have enough information. Luckily, what you do have is your revolver and, if worse comes to worse, then you can simply fall back on that.

Choices:
Decide on a course of action.

Primary Vote:

A-1) Hide somewhere, keeping an eye on them, and hope they'll eventually leave.
A-2) Hide somewhere, ready to ambush them.
B-1) Wait in the open for them, and then try to engage them in conversation.
B-2) Scramble to put something on, wet or dry, before you try to communicate with them.
C) Stand there, revolver in hand, and try to threaten them and make it clear you want them to leave.
D) Don't risk anything, shoot them as soon as you can.

X) Other.

Z) Minor Action. Available.

Casually holding that revolver would be nice. Don't know bullets would even fire after getting wet, but appearance is everything, right?
