Yeah, I really wish ILL would just fill out some of the content and release it. Upgrading the game to new rpgmaker? Might as well start over from scratch. It's crazy.
Is he upgrading it to VX Ace or MV? because MV would be bad ass. They've got a ton of new available features plus a larger screen size.
also where did you hear this? I haven't really been paying too much attention to this thread recently.

Maybe the new features in the new pack save him a few very complicated workarounds? If the new engine allows for more freedom, he might run into fewer brick walls. He IS changing pretty much everything in the current RPGmaker...

It's also possible that the type of work required is simply work he is more easily able to attempt right now, compared to more extensive coding and/or graphical work.

it does :) actually i looked and read up on RPG MAKER MV and planing on before the 23rd to buy it :) so i can take advantage of the free 80$ DLCS @_@

so far the character creator has been upgraded how much i wont know tell i buy it.

as for scripting its been redone and made better BUT unless you convert stuff . anything you make in ACE CANT be used with MV without converting >.> which sucks

I was the one who broke the news on the RPG maker update. I just wanted to reiterate that this was what I understood from his response to my question through Patreon. He does check his Patreon messages, so be sure to drop him a line of support or ask a question or two. From my understanding, he is upgrading to a new rpgmaker because in the long run it would be helpful. He has been doing conversion work from the last time I heard from him, which will support wide screen support ( 864X540).

maybe he can make the sprites bigger for better animations :eek:

That would be sweet. RPG Maker VX Ace sprites are 32x32 while RPG Maker MV sprites are 48x48. Soo, that would be a huge improvement.

Before you enter Bandits haven with submission 0... you search for 1 in CE... then you make progress in bandit haven till it turned 1 and so you search for 3 in CE... same when her sub reaches 2 search for 5 then at submission 3 search for 7...by that time the list should be pretty small and you should be able to figure out wich one is for submission after some tinkering... then when you moved that adress to where you edit it... you put the desired number... like 199 for 99 submission though nothing will change after 4 for now... but once youve set it... go to the check box of that adress and put that X in it so it keeps that stat.. then leave bandit haven and CE will keep it to what youve set it... re-entering and leaving bandit haven will reset it again and youd have to do the process all over again.
I guess saving and reloading the game to change the value won't work?

Well, I'll give it a try (I'd also like to know how to manipulate the ones that I don't think can normally be changed in the game, like Exposure.)

My point wasn't that it wouldn't be beneficial in terms of higher resolution images or whatever. The problem is that with all of the sunk costs and time he's put into his old version, it's a BAD IDEA.

He has so many custom scripts and crazy workarounds that he's pretty much built his own engine. And I would imagine that with a new rpgmaker version he's basically going to have to rewrite most of that.

And with his health issues so hampering his work, it basically means we won't see the game for YEARS, if ever.

That's the problem.

Upgrading is all fine and good, but if this game doesn't get released for another 2 years, any momentum it might have, will be lost.

Just on a technical side: it is highly unlikely ILL would upgrade to RPGMaker MV for the following reason. Last I checked (which I think was version 3.02 or similar) ILL makes use of a number of publicly available scripts from Ramble Rabbit (the author of the Maidensnow games). Going to RPGMaker MV would necessitate redoing these completely or moving to another system (due to RPGMaker MV using JavaScript), and so RPGMaker MV is very unlikely. Also it hasn't been released yet, to my knowledge.

RPGMaker VX Ace makes much more sense, as it would enable ILL to take advantage of the newer versions of these scripts. There may also be a theory that the Ruby 1.9 of RPGMaker VX Ace will make the game run faster, although it almost certainly won't (due to the majoirty of CPU time being spent on software graphics rendering).

However, I think it's most likey that ILL is just moving to newer version of the base scripts hes using. Really no actual idea though, as I'm not a patron (partly due to losing interest in this game, but also because if it came to I might get into legal trouble, given the laws in the UK about guro).

RPG Marker MV uses Javascript, not Ruby. ILL would have to rewrite all of the game scripts, which I doubt is going to happen.

Thus, it's pretty clear he meant converting the project to VX Ace, which is a rather simple conversion.

MSE used to be on VX originally after all.

I did my JD in Canada and I did my LLM in the UK. Judging from what I understand about the obscenity laws there, that is incredibly unlikely. Further to that point, given that you are actually not directly profiting from this situation, there is little motivation on the part of the UK authorities to go after you. This would be a terrible case to make a test case out of, and further to that point, very significant jurisdiction issues.

But, on the other hand, he hasn't really added anything content wise, and I'm getting fed up with the vaporware feeling I'm getting from this game. So I do agree, that losing interest in the game is a big issue, but your contributions on translations do not run afoul of the obscenity provisios in UK law.

Legally speaking, it would basically come down to a 'realistic' test as to whether there'd be a possession offence (under Section 63 of the Criminal Justice and Immigration Act 2008) for a person owning the game i.e. would someone looking at the guro images in the game have reason to believe that the persons depicted actually existed. I'd agree that it's unlikely, but I wouldn't say impossible, and even if a court found otherwise UK prosecutors have made the wrong call before and initiated legal proceedings (there was one case which was dropped, but only after the guy in question was on bail for 6 months) And so it's not a risk I'm willing to take - other people will have different opinions.

Also, I don't do translations on this game - that's MonkeyMan.

Not really. The combat is basically 3.X edition DnD, so Strength affects melee hit and damage, and so on.

As for the events, you'll get most of them doing what story there is in the demo. If you don't disable it, you get a gore event involving the maneater plants (don't know the details, since that's not my thing). The only other one is in Heaven, the testing bar area in the first town (north right where you enter) with a couple of variants based on if the virgin barrier is there, if miene's in bondage, or pregnant. Pretty much the only thing that changes is the pictures though.
