I've been working on the cover for my latest game, I haven't thought of a name for this game yet though but the game follows the story of a girl growing up in a secluded village in the middle of a deep forest, after spending her childhood happily playing games with her friends and doing chores she stumbles across a young foxgirl roughly her own age...despite being told to stay away by her mother she continues to meet with this girl for years... and everything was fine until a week after her 18th birthday, her villiage is attacked by a monster, forcing her out into the wilderness...

the forest the game is set in is host to two races besides humans, the all female foxgirls, whom are under usual circumstances incapable of speaking human languages and are susceptible to random moments of going into heat...

and the all male wolfmen, a race of warriors whom force themselves on both human and foxgirl women

(I have yet to name these two races but taking suggestions, in many ways they are similar to succubi and incubi)

both races have the ability to turn humans into their own, the requisite being made to orgasm by them...


Gameplay
the game has many similarities to Harvest moon, the player needs to gather ingredients for item crafting and cooking, and will have a relationship system, however there are also a lot of differences, while traversing the forest Lycoris (the main character) must avoid detection of the gangs of wolfboys that stalk around and want to do naughty things to her, while also hunting prey to gather food... the random encounter system usually reserved for grinding in rpgs will be used only for the hunting system, small animals and the like, but there are also roaming elite mobs and monsters to find and defeat...

the game also features a rudimentary time system (currently set to 3X real time) where actions take up various amounts of time...
it is possible for the player to collapse if they stay up too late, which can result in getting caught if you're in the wrong place.

the hentai aspect should be apparent by now but getting caught by the wolfboys nets the player a few scenes depending on location
and will eventually lead to a gameover if you get caught enough, you can also advance your relationship with various members of the foxgirl tribe and there are also a bunch of hidden events the player can find...

I prefer battle systems with levelling :) but a harvest moon recipe system will let the player make stat boosting and skill learning items aswell so not everything is simple grinding

Well, if you want to catch more attention from the folks over at dlsite, I think the title screen needs to be more thrilling. If you want to make a game like harvest moon, then the impression you give with your screenshot might be appropriate--two girls (one a fox-girl) on some kind of gentle adventure. Great.

I have to say though... that's not going to get people talking. I see a lot of amateur games come out, with similar dull titles, and it's no surprise that they don't make it onto the best sellers list. Since your game's in English too, I think you have a hard road to try to navigate.

For the purposes of selling your game, I think it might even work better if you didn't include the forest background there. The characters look pretty good, so have a couple of poses of them, have some sort of background screen of what the in-game (rpgmaker) graphics are like.

The only reason I didn't play your previous game was because I didn't quite know what to make of it. Again, it had a vague title screen that didn't tell me even if it was an rpgmaker game or not. Could have been a visual novel. So, I didn't try the trial and just ignored it. I'm not trying to be mean or anything. That's just what happened. And I tell you this because I can see the same thing happening with this one...

One other though: if you could cooperate with some Japanese guy to make a Japanese version, I think you'd be able to make much more than if you just have it in English (and selling it on a Japanese site).

Tryguy has the analysis spot-on. The art is quite good, but the photo here would serve better as a title screen for the game itself, rather than the 'cover'. Since this game isn't solely focused on combat, it'd be good to have that reflected in your cover as well, since it'll be essentially the face of the game that you'll be selling to players.

I believe this game has potential, and it sounds unique enough, so I'll be sure to give some feedback once a demo comes out. Good luck.

it actually is the title screen pic btw, I'm gonna have a more sexual one to attract attention on dlsite, maybe lycoris being chased by wolf boys and some cut ins of sex scenes in the bg

I really love you'r main idea for the game.

if anyone's got any better ideas I'd be glad to hear them

since the player gets to name the main character i can't include her name in the title. which is a shame cause lyco's tale sounds pretty cute and it has a pun (since she can get foxgirlified)

Oh okay, foxes and wolves are both part of the canine family so how about a name with wolves and sheep? Sheep being the humans and wolves being the obvious.

day 2, little bit older, hunting wabbits and learning about stealth
get told to stay away from foxy
day 3, recipe tutorial, sneaking off to meet with foxy again


these days don't have aren't in the same week, they are months/years apart in story time and they all lead up to lycoris' 18th birthday :) a week later, the magic barrier around her village is damaged and wolf men attack, forcing her out into the woods, she avoids immediate capture but the beasts give chase,
lycoris is cornered, about to be molested, when foxy swings in and saves her and takes her back to her tribes village (with it's own magic barrier)

Shall I suggest you to made the "gather objects" with the "shiny" effect thing? And for the hidden friends, you can made an introduction to the "hide 'n' seek" game when you leave your house (Saying informations like the "area" of the game where they can hide (For example, south), or better, an interior dialog of the protagonist that say something like "They shall be hidden somewhere in this area..." when you enter in that forest maze where they are hidden.). Like a dialog with her friends to say at you (Player), that the "hide 'n' seek" game is starting.

and i allready added a dialogue when she gets to the clubhouse, theres a note telling her they're allready hidden, and i'm planning on having them waiting outside for her when she leaves her house. once you find them they also tell you where the others like to hide (just in case the player is having trouble)
i've also added the placeholder scene for the first meeting with foxy :) can't finish that until i have her child sprite completed

oh and all the character portraits :) i need those finishing too

Nope, I don't mean a sound effect but a graphic effect. Like this in the attachment.

Just remember that if you want to sell It on DLsite, you need to made It also in Japanese or easy-to-understand for people that don't know the language, so, what's going on.:)
However I've voted for "Forest of lust".

I voted for Forest of Lust, since that was the safest choice out of all of them.

To be honest, I'd hold off on a title and just have a working in-progress title for now. Usually it's not until the later or final stages of a product until you have a really good idea on what the title should be... or that's how I usually name it, anyways.

Wolf & Sheep isn't bad, either.

However I've voted for "Forest of lust".
But then how would you know what you're picking up?, also i don't thing that graphic would stop things seeing you, where as you can actually hide behind logs before you pick them up

as for japanese dlsite i did still sell more copies of princess escape through them than english dlsite, atm i dont know how to use japanese instead of english characters in rpg maker but i would consider it if i could


edit- please if anyone knows how to switch to japanese language in rpg maker (at the minute it does the moonspeak boxes)
