Dude... Remove that link. It's 5 bucks and it's well worth it, just like his last game.
Hey, I'm a piece of shit for sharing, people are a piece of shit for downloading, and we're all pieces of shit for how quick we are to steal from Japanese indie developers without thinking twice. You just feel bad because it's happening to someone you can understand, which shouldn't make a difference.

I hope people buy the game and don't resort to downloading it from me. If Kyrieru wants to force it down, I'll respect his wishes and take it down, but that's only if he contacts me personally. Until then, I'm keeping it up.

You know that all of you have the option of not using the H button, or the shield, etc., right? This isn't an MMO where we have to balance everything. It's like choosing to use the buster against the robot masters instead of their weakness. It makes the game more FUN.

Re: Eroico -Develouped by kyrieru-

Seeing as how everyone who knows me knows that I'm all for this game and screaming about how much I love it, I'll just go over some of the things I didn't like.

Problem 1: What does my upgrade do?

There's no indication of what an upgrade does once I collect it. Everything looked cool, animation and all, and I knew I was getting something neat, but once it was all over, I sat for a moment and almost expected a demonstration of the upgrade I received, such as in Mega Man X, for those of you who remember that game.

When you got the boots, it was scripted so that megaman would immediately dash out of the capsule, clearly putting your new power into demonstration and letting you know what that upgrade did, even if you skipped through Light's long explanation. I feel like the same could have happened in Eroico when I got an upgrade, or even something as simple as a bubble appearing over the hero's head that showed an icon of the sword glorified in some manner in an attempt to hint at the fact that something cool happened to your sword.

Problem 2: Where did the Level 2 Boss go?

Bugs are to be expected, but they're still an issue. When I was fighting against the Egyptian styled boss, during one of her random teleportations, she suddenly was gone from the entire stage. I was standing on ground level when this happened, and the camera perspective didn't encompass the entire boss stage. As well, there were quite a number of flames darting about, if that helps to determine what might have caused the bug.

Either way, she teleported, and vanished from the boss room, thus forcing me to exit and restart the fight where I took measures to block her fire and then promptly defeated her.

Problem 3: No penalty for rape?

I recall having rape affect the game in some manner being a feature tossed up for suggestion somewhere back during development. Nevermind all promises, it is slightly disappointing that letting oneself be raped by a harpy and made to cum twelve times had no effect on our brave adventurer.

Problem 4: A couple Platforming Puzzles last a little too long

Someone already complained about a section of the desert level, and that's really the worst of the three levels in terms of platforming. I don't mind the fact that it's hard, but for the average player, it takes a while to go along some challenging areas and it hurts ones morale a great deal when you almost make it, but get hit and fall all the way down.

Anyone who has experienced the Water Temple and failed at it would know how punishing it feels to fall from all the way up there, and have to climb your way back up. Skilled Zelda players wouldn't know of this experience though, more power to them.

Those are the only gripes I have with the game. Other than that, it's a fun little game and worth the five bucks, and has enough replayability to go through it maybe a second time.

Your logic is stupid. If some people do it then its cool to join them? Hold to a higher standard.

As much as I hate to say it, his logic is nothing but sound. This entire forum is devoted mainly to sharing pirated games. While that may not have been the initial intention, it is the outcome. The only reason why anybody in this thread gives a shit that the game is being pirated is because the maker is a member of our forum and visits semi-frequently. There are plenty of great games out there that are only about 5 bucks that people pirate on an hourly basis...just look at the huge number of threads shuffling out pirated games, doujins and movies.

If you think otherwise, you're either a hypocrite or one of the very few on here that doesn't pirate games...regardless if the maker is a member or not.

That being said, I'm gonna buy the game this weekend once I get more than a few minutes off work.:)

This so god damn much.
You people feel damn near zero guilt when you download stuff like Shinobi Girl, Unholy Sanctuary, or Iris Action but now it's a problem when people pirate Eroico?

Hell, The developer himself said that he doesn't mind pirating when he released Kurovadis since he did the exact same thing to other games. He said that if people liked it, they'll buy it.
And I respect him heavily for that statement.

...Now I gotta throw more money at this guy.

That spike segment wasn't really that hard, it's just proper timing. Do you guys even play Mega Man? xD

Does that make you better than me?

There are two universes here:
1. I don't purchase this game because I can't afford to spend $5 on anything non-essential.
2. I don't purchase this game because I can't afford to spend $5 on anything non-essential. I pirate and enjoy the game. I write a positive review of the game, recommend the game on this forum, and now know that the author's games are fun and that I should purchase them in the future (or go back and purchase a legitimate copy of this game).

Well had to go for the Pirate Option as my CC is maxed, I could technically say I already paid for it as after playing Kurdovaris (spelling?) I then donated $50 (so Kyrieu (Spelling? again) has gotten $55 from me), but I will pay for it to continue support, once I've paid off some of my CC I'll pay for it, most likely through a Donation.

Not at all.

Also it has to do with the fact keyboards are terrible at managing multiple key inputs at once. Or they can't do it at all!

Then all the times I keep hitting jump when I want to hit slash, or vice versa...

Not even gonna touch the piracy can of worms, because that's a flame war waiting to happen.

Over 20 years ago, sure. Platformers are kind of a dead genre, especially 2D ones.

Fighting enemies is fun. Losing to them isn't that bad. Fighting blocks, spikes, and platforms is not fun and losing to them is frustrating. How many spikes and mandatory jumping/timing puzzles did Super Metroid or Symphony of the Night have? Extremely few? The enemies in Eroico aren't very threatening, leaving the platforming to comprise 90% of the game's difficulty, and even worse, difficulty settings are irrelevant to that. All playing on easy does is make it so that you can stand in front of the first two bosses and hack them to death without moving. It also makes the only upgrades in the game unimportant since they don't help you with platforming. I didn't even bother getting them past the first stage.

The final boss was also kind of tedious.

Great pixel sex though! Felt like I got my 5.09 worth.

Re: Eroico -Develouped by kyrieru-

Are you guys talking about the spiked room where you have to hit those blocks to do a sorta jump slash and bounce on over? If so I thought that part wasn't that hard. I did however always seemed to get hit at the very end of it. What made me rage is all those damn harpies that swarm all over the place. At first its like 2 at once, no problem, but I got to a part where it sent down 6+ at once on top of that you have that singing girl shooting notes at you AND a tittyfucking polearm girl swinging at you. Good game to your health. I wish the game was a little bit more generous on check points. Maybe a check point every 25% completion rather than 50%. That's just my opinion. I guess I'm just going to restart to level 1 and get the upgrades since it will make it easier.

I always have a problem with the red diamonds even working myself, but I think it's because I use a keyboard, and it hates trying to have multiple keys working at once. So when I try to slash and move, it won't work, or slash and jump, etc.

I've found that not only does it give you a bigger window to hit them when you press down and attack for the red diamonds, but it also sends you just a little higher. Or at least lets you get there after bouncing a few times. I did that spike room several times on easy before I figured that out. Now it's the easiest jump puzzle in the game.

Also, how do you defeat the last boss? I don't know how to damage her at all.

Re: Eroico -Develouped by kyrieru-

ignoring the pirate argument for now...

i thought the lazer segments were hellish, also the jumps only just being enough bugged me to, i felt there ought to have been more wiggle room for jumping,

i simply could not get up the wall of spikes despite being able to get the heart piece several times

final word- getting (figuratively) raped by obstacles instead of being (literally) raped by enemies and obstacles is an abomination to the genre...this doesnt even feel like a good game

Re: Eroico -Develouped by kyrieru-

Game is way too hard imho.

I even cheated using save editing and can't get the last 3 CG's (or even encounter their enemies, due in part to the giant clustfuck jumping puzzle with blocks and spikes)

It either needs a save after every level or to be toned down with an easy modo.

edit: are there any other save states besides 3 31 34 33 49 63 58 60, find it hard to think the last 3 would be right before hte last boss and a hellish platforming murder fest
