Re: Zako Fight 1.25 - Updated January 1st

I agree with XodusZ for the most part. The concept is really nice. I love the close up, when the heroine's being held and beaten up. You should really stick with that.

In fact, I'd like to see the duration of the beatings extended some more or maybe make it an option to increase its time. I'm not a fan of (too much) blood, but showing more bruises and scratches on her the less HP she has or depending on the number of hits she has taken, would really improve the quality.

I'm considering spending the 5 bucks, which is only about 3,79 € right now to support future improvements, fixes and enhancements.

My suggestions are similar to those already posted, based on the short demo:

- more enemy and level variety
- some different holds, beat downs and sex moves
- refined controls, hitboxes, graphics and (new) animations
- female opponents!
- the grapple escape mechanics really need some improvement, as I find it difficult to escape right now
(@ Papanomics according to my tests the arrow keys do count for escaping)
- take some inspiration from your other projects (yes, I've seen them and also like them!)
- the proportions of your characters are still a little weird, but they are already better than the first projects (leg size compared to upper body size)
- when your full game is developed further, you really need to update your demo to include at least one full enemy encounter instead of the censorship

I'm aware that this will probably take a couple of months to finish all this, but it'll probably be worth it.

I want add something:

@foamy
I know, and I'm very proud of Blazer myself. The thing is, the characters are very blatantly not my own
I checked your Blazer. And I have to say that is noticeable better game, not because of main heroine. So even if you do not want to use not your character, why not use this fight system (submissions etc.)?

Also in all your games I can not understand 2 things:
- why no characters voices? Simple thing but in most cases improve game.
- That is not only your game, but why lvl difficulty does not simply increase number of enemies on the screen? You know button mashing events are not fun, not enought...

Is there only one stage in the game though? Is that seriously what you just sold me? A game with two enemies and one stage?

$1 would probably be a better price point...if that...

I bought a copy. No issues running the game whatsoever. I'm satisfied with what I got for 5 bucks. Obviously I'd enjoy more content, but I'm not going to be unrealistic. Hopefully more support will lead to more content and more games from the developer. Keep up the good work!

P.S. (Suggestion: ) Moar penetration!

Wanting more than 1 stage, two enemies and insinuated sex is definitely not unrealistic.

Combat in Zako was a little better but MGB animations and model were far far superior in my opinion.

I played the demo. NOT the full game. And I will tell you that it really does not leave a good impression with me. Now, I'm not one to judge a book by its cover; however, others may not. People may have also told you this, but if you want some sales, you may want to start by improving the demo. The demo basically is there to tell people what they'll be buying. You know the flaws, I assume, so I won't go on saying what others have been saying. (Besides what I just said.)

Don't get me wrong. As far as I can see, this game has great potential. The animations are great and the style is fun, but I don't think its really worth 5 dollars. When it does, I will be perfectly willing to pay for it.

It can only get better, right?

Either he died, or took our money and ran with it.

He neg repped me after I complained about the quality.

It said:

"A fool and his money are soon parted."

So yeah, he burned me on that one.

Don't buy this shit.

And people negrepped me for asking for his stuff for free.

Thanks for trying to encourage me to be burned, jackasses.

People have tried buying it and he said in Papanomics's negrep that he's planning on taking your money. Don't bother.

Re: Zako Fight 1.25 - Updated January 1st

I doubt he's "burning" people. I mean he came out with a significant update shortly after the initial release of 1.00. Who would do that if they just wanted to take your cash and run? And really, 5 bucks, it's like you bought McDonald's for a friend or something, nothing to get pissed about even if he was taking the cash and running.

If you go through this thread, people bombarded him with about 100 things they wanted fixed and or changed, then he replied by saying that in the next update most if not all of those things would be addressed. Quality can't be rushed. I think the next incarnation will be awesome and I personally can't wait. However I can understand if he gets burnt out trying to fix all the things and needs a break from it.

As far as this negrep thing, who knows? A guy can have a bad day and tend to be snarky if someone comes at him wrong. All anyone did was complain, and most of them did so in pretty nonconstructive manners, can you blame a person for replying with a tude?

Just my two cents and I do hope for an update soon.

Re: Zako Fight 1.25 - Updated January 1st

Pretty sure extinct games like Another Dimension have had updates since this one. Hell he hasn't even posted in here in 2 months...

Why did he make a "major" update right after? Well maybe because he only sold a couple copies and the inference of more updates spurred on a few more purchases.

Is it a quality game? Not really. From what I remember, the character movement and her limbs looked really strange. The animations were okay...but I wouldn't say they were that great.

Did it have promise? A little.

Re: Zako Fight 1.25 - Updated January 1st

Ok, fair enough, but before Zako fight even came along, he had posted like 3 or 4 other demos of games absolutely free. It's not like he came out of nowhere and then vanished like a thief in the night. His updates have never been super fast. The update he did on Metal Girl Blazer took a loooooong time to come out, but when it did, man it sure was awesome, at least to me.

This is probably a hobby of his, not a job, and trust me, crap that comes up in real life can easily stunt the amount of free time one has to work on a hobby. Work has a way of getting in the way. Same with girlfriends or family problems. Hell even drugs or other vices. Computers also break down or get drinks spilled on them thus stopping any and all work on stuff that was saved on the computer. And sometimes, losing all of one's hard work is enough to snuff their fire to work on the something they lost.

Also, as a person that was in a video game making course in college, I can attest to the fact that making games is hard as hell sometimes. And I was in a team of 5 guys. We had an entire semester (12 weeks) to come up with a demo and barely pulled it off. This would be monumentally harder as a one-person show I'd imagine and I do think this person works on these himself. Plus he's trying all these notions he never incorporated into previous titles which means a lot more trial and error.

Not saying any of you guys are wrong in what you're saying, just trying to view the long gap between updates from all angles instead of from only the impatient side.

Well, he's logged in within the last week so you'd think he would pop onto the thread and say "Hey, I'm busy with stuff...it might be a while" or something. So, my guess is that this game is...

That's "dead in the water" btw.

Re: Zako Fight 1.25 - Updated January 1st

It's not that it's five dollars that bothered me. It's that he wrote that a fool and his money are soon parted, calling me a fool for purchasing his terrible game, eventually parting me from my money.

I don't hope well for him at all.
