Ella the Exile: Ella CS
Stats:
HP:79/79 EP:44/44 PP:45/45
The past few weeks had really stretched on for Ella. She caught wind of some goblin slavers in the area who had been causing trouble for a local village, and moved by their plight, she decided to see about putting an end to the monsters. Though she knew this would delay her journey, she knew she could not just leave these people to be tormented by slavers, now knowing a little bit about slavery herself, though her chains were mental and rooted in demonic lust as opposed to the metal ones used by the goblin.

Things had not been easy though, goblins are sly and crafty creatures. They made good use of the dense forest to hide their movements, making it difficult to track them down and locate their base. Additionally, goblins had a penchant for traps, Ella nearly found herself ensnared on a number of occaisions, even falling into a pit trap at one point. Though her wings made the pit sort of a non-issue. It was really too bad the forest was as dense as it was. It made it impossible for Ella to fly normally, making her scouting job much more difficult, tedious, and dangerous.

Finally, after two weeks of combing the forest, she had located the goblin camp. Right now she sat on the outskirts of the goblin, out of sight and earshot of the slavers, planning her move. She knew from her recon work that there were three large tents and a single, larger, lodge building. She had not been able to get close enough to tell what was inside of any of the constructs, but she assumed the goblins used them for sleeping and the lodge as a slave compound. She also knew that at this time, a number of goblin parties would have gone off to do various things, leaving only ten of the demon-kind in the camp. She was quite confident she could take on those numbers.

Right now, she could see three goblins patrolling the camp on separately, though she couldn't be sure if the remainder were in the tents or the lodge building. Fortune was with her, however, as one of the three goblins stopped fifteen feet away, with his back turned to her, seemingly unaware of her presence. One of his cohorts was a good fifty feet off, too far in the forest to be aware of anything if she pulled a sneak attack on the one closest, the third goblin had gone behind the lodge and was out of her sight for the moment. If she wanted to take out the goblin in front of her, now was as good a time as any. If she wanted to recon the camp more first, she would either need to sneak away from the goblin, or wait for him to move.

Rosa Anteres: Rosa CS

Things were going from bad to worse for poor, innocent Rosa. After her escape from the temple, she had been living in a small village under an assumed name. Things, while different, had been going ok for awhile. She had blended in with the locals alright, she found small jobs to do, and had been living with a kind old lady.

But it had not lasted for long. After only a couple of months, someone tipped off the temple, and several priests had come to the village not long after. She had been spotted, and was forced to run off into the woods, the priests, thugs rather in this case, in hot pursuit.

As she ran through the woods, Rosa had her full inventory, and roughly a 100 foot lead on the men chasing her. It would be possible for her to fight the men, though three at once seemed rather risky. She had a sizeable lead, and rudimentary knowledge of the forest in this area, so she could also try to hide somewhere. The forest was pretty dense, so that could potentially work. A third option was to hide and try to ambush the three men when they got closer. Of course these were only some of the options available to her, if she thought of something better she could try that as well. Or she could always give herself over to the men...maybe they would be merciful?

Sorry to just dump you guys into combat situations right off, but this was the best way I could think of to bring you guys together. As for the terrain for the forest, its dense, lots of trees, heavy foliage, small gulleys, rocky outcroppings, small creeks. All kinds of stuff to hide in, around, or on. This is mostly for Rosa's benefit, so you know what you have to work with if you want to hide. As for Ella, the perimeter of the camp is pretty heavily forested, inside the camp isn't as bad, but it still wouldn't be a good idea to fly in it.

Ella silently praised the Gods that she had remained unseen by the Goblin sentry. Looking over the camp however she realized that any attempts to further scout the location would only lead to her being spotted and while she was confident in her combat prowess ten to one odds where still daunting. Eying the goblin as she carefully slid one of her throwing axes free. Ella briefly thought on what she knew about the little demonic creatures but sadly it wasn't much. However she did know that the goblins where a more recent occurrence or at lest a more noticeable one sense the invasion but other than that she had no knowledge of the powers or skills the little green and black skinned demons possesd. Still she better get on with her attack unless she wanted to miss her opportunity.

Readying herself Ella steadied her breathing and took careful aim at the goblin. If all went well the little creature should only hear a slight whistle before it was welcomed back to oblivion.

(Using a throwing axe to attack the goblin sentry. +62 to hit and 3d10 +15 damage)

Rosa dashed through the forest as quickly as she possibly could, the forest seemingly opening a path to the poor priestess 'Why... why did they come for me... I wouldn't have told anyone!' a slight whimper ran across the girls mind, she had a decent life back in the rural village. She was able to do things the priestess never imagined she'd d -, the simple joys of just helping to bake some bread, tailoring, attending a fruit stand, though she never left her duties asa priestess too. Seemed the whole village had a very positive outlook towards the odd haired girl, it was all just like her old home, before the corruption.

Still seemed the past would not let her go easily. Why had the men come for her indeed, were they affraid she'd tell someone in power of their corrupt machinations, perhaps they didn't want her to show an example to the remaining girl or maybe the reasons were far more personal and different altogether. Nevertheless, seemed they finally found her and unfortunately for the girl she had already ran out of breath.

It was amazing she managed to get ahead as much as she did, guess those relaxing strolls through this place truly served to the girls advantage as the thugs constantly found themselves in heavy foliage instead of the trails the Priestess used.

"I--I can't..." Rosa struggled to catch her breath eyeing for any potential hidding spots, perhaps ones further away from the trail so her pursuers would just run past her altogether. The priestess quickly scanned her surroundings leaning against a nearby tree, till her eyes caught a substantial log a decent walk away from the path she used. If the men continued to follow the trail she might give them the slip, but if they spread out she'd be clear as day if approached on the opposite angle.

Still it was the only option Rosa had as she almost limped her way towards the log and lied down on the opposite side, still breathless and her arms put together in a prayer 'Please don't let them find me... please don't let them find me.'

Ella's status:
HP:79/79 EP:44/44 PP:45/45 Damned Lucky too

Rolls:
A natural 20 for your first roll...damn you...
Ella stealth check vs goblin 5+20=25 wins (not technically, but I will give it to you this time on account of a nat. 20.
Attack: 62+3=65 vs 25 HIT
Damage: 15+1+2+10=28 (at least your damage rolls are terriblly inconsistent)
Would you believe he has 29 HP? I will be nice and make him incapacitated, but you may want to finish him off... And yes he did have less health than most goblins, just something to keep in mind, nor did I give him armor.
Ella Perception: 25+11=36

Ella pulled out her throwing axe, and hurled the axe right at the goblin. He seemed to hear it whistling through the air as he turned and it caught him right on the forehead. The dimunitve green goblin, short even by their standards, slumped to the ground, the axe lodged in his skull. From where she stood, Ella could see the goblin breathing raggedly, on his last legs, but not technically dead yet. A look across the camp showed that the other goblin hadn't noticed his buddy take an axe to the cranium, the other goblin didn't seem to have come out from behind the lodge yet.

Rosa:
Stats:
HP:39/39 EP:83/83 PP:40/40
Rolls:
Rosa stealth: 11+14=25 vs. 10+15=25....tie? Tie goes to player
Rosa Perception:20+ 1 :) = 21 (since I gave ranger the nat 20, I will unfortnately have to penalize you for the nat 1...)
As Rosa lay down behind a log, she calmed her breathing down and said her silent prayer. The priests were having trouble moving through the forest, and realizing that they may lose her they split off from each other and the three men moved forward, ten feet apart. As luck would have it Rosa's hiding spot was on the East left edge of their line, not in the middle. As luck would also have it, the priest closest to her stopped just before crossing over the log, not knowing she was right there.

And as luck would have it, the priest was tired and promptly sat down on a stump on the other side of the log from Rosa. "Enough of this, I can't hear her anymore or make heads or tails of this damned forest! We need a new plan!"

Rosa could here grumbling from further off in the forest, and what sounded like the other two moving around. They may be coming over towards the priest near her for a planning session. They were still probably far enough away that if she jumped the priest near her, they wouldn't see her if she took him down in one hit. But if she failed she would be in big trouble. Maybe she should just wait where she was and hope they moved on instead...

The priestess froze up as the man sat down near her, a sinking feeling running through her body. He was so close! Rosa slowly moved her hands over her mouth using both of them to cover any and all possible sounds from the girl.

'Got to stay calm... stay calm...' what was the priestess to do now. The man was nigh right on top her hiding spot, calmly sitting there catching his breath for the moment, but what if he decides to continue on his way over the log. There's no way she could outrun him, she was far beyond her limits already. Smite him? The very thought ran shivers through the young priestess, while her natural talents with holy magic would make such a feat easy, taking someones life petrified the girl. Unless she was fighting truly vile creatures or facedr exceptional danger or threat, but otherwise - never!

Rosa remained in her hidding spot, hopefully the man would be beckoned over to the other two. Otherwise may the gods watch over her.

Wasting no time she made a mad dash for the little creature pulling her axe free of its skull. Having to finish the goblin off took precious time and she couldn't help but be slightly disappointed that her axe strike didn't end the demons life. Keeping a watchful eye on the locations of the other two Ella hoped she could get to cover before she was spotted or else her somewhat stealthy attack would end in a full frontal assault. Though her pride nearly demanded she charge in and send the foul creatures back to hell her tactical reason held her at bay. After all they could have a caster in this group so thinning out as many as she could before the big show down just made sense.

(Finishing off the goblin no need to let the little guy suffer and dragging it back to her hiding space. Also keeping an eye on the other two just if(when) Ella is spotted she will be aware of the danger)

Ella:
Stats:
HP:79/79 EP:44/44 PP:45/45

Rolls:
Sneak:24 vs. 39 Fail
Perception: 6+21=25
The goblin weakly gurgled as it gazed up at Ella pitifully. It stopped making noise when she finished it off with her axe. Dragging it back to her hideout in the trees proved to be a bad move however. She couldn't help making a fair bit of noise dragging the body over the forest floor, and at last the noise reached the other goblin's ear. It turned and spotted her dragging his comrade, and with a shout it started running at her, sword drawn. She had a beat to make a move though before it could reach her.

Suddenly, a blast of red light radiated out from the lodge, hitting the goblin, but failing to reach her. It seemed to have no noticeable effect though as the goblin continued to run at her.
Confession: I actually didn't realize your stealth was as low as it is until I already had your post about done, otherwise I may have done something not-stealth based for you. *notes for future reference* Anywho, to make it up to you, you get a sneak peek at my NPC I will use to assist players in various situations! (in a few posts)

Rosa:
HP:39/39 EP:83/83 PP:40/40 status: mage collared (unable to cast spells or use powers), bound DC 40
Rolls:
Stealth: 11+6=15 vs. 27 fail
Grapple vs corrupt priest 1:12+11=23 vs 27 (corrupt priest 1) fail
Grapple vs corrupt priest 2:12+2=14 vs 30 fail, collared
Grapple vs corrupt priest 3: 12+1=13 vs 23 fail, bound
Sorry, most enemies won't just happen to have mage collars on them, but these guys were out hunting you specifically so they came prepared. (and you got unfortunately bad rolls this time as well, and the priests got unfortunately good rolls..)

As she lay there, hand clamped over her mouth, Rosa fervently prayed the priests wouldn't find her there. She felt her heart sink as the other two priests came over to sit by the one near her, rather than the one priest getting up and moving.

Fortune was not Rosa's friend that day as the other two priests sat on the same log that happened to be shielding Rosa.

"Good grief...we'll never find that worthless bitch in these woo-HEY!!!" The grumbling priest had turned to stretch and had spotted Rosa!

"Commere you little slut!" He leaped over the log and pounced right on her, knocking the breath from her lungs, and try as she might, she couldn't get him off her. The second priest who had sat on the log also jumped on her after only a second's hesitation, and with one motion pulled out a metal collar and clamped it around her neck.

With the collar secured, Rosa felt something very scary. She was completely cut off from her spirit powers, she couldn't even feel her spirit at all! This was quite possibly the most helpless she had ever felt in her life. "You're lucky the buyer is paying extra for virgins..." The same priest who had tackled her glowered darkly. The other two priests cackled as they bound Rosa in chains and led the her off, actually heading deeper into the woods...

Sorry again, I didn't exactly go by the book on group grapples/binding etc. But once they got the collar on you the fight was pretty much over, and you failed three grapple checks in a row. Though if it's consolation, you weren't really going to win this anyway, this is just all about Rosa and Ella meeting. I promise on my GM honor that you won't get screwed like this all the time.

Rosas eyes widened as the priest on her log slowly but surely started turning towards her, his gaze upon the helpless priestess in mere moments. The foul mans eyes ran across the priestess's generous forms before he shouted out to his comrades at his sudden prize.

It didn't take long for them to lunge at her "NO~ Please don't!" Rosa's pleas fell on deaf ears as her frail body struggles only proved to amuse the man holding her. Still she knew of a certain spell she could use to escape her predicament! The priestess hands started to glow slightly, but before the magic could gain any headway it was quickly completely shut off. 'What?!' Why can't I....' what was this collar besset on her? Absolutely helpless the girl was quickly bound up and at the mercy of her oppressors.

Few tears formed on Rosa's face, what would happen to her now? The trio led her deeper into the forest, glancing the occasional look over the priestess in hand, unpure thoughts running through their minds no doubt.

Haha don't worry. The position wasn't really in Rosas benefit to begin with, we'll see what happens now :D

Ella sighed as she was discovered but then again it was only really a matter of time. Dropping the small body Ella readied herself and almost begun to channel her holy energies to bring the little demon low when a red light shot fourth from the log structure striking the goblin who didn't seem any worse off for it. Switching tactics Ella decided to conserve her holy energies just in case she had a mage to put down. Her new plan was to intercept the goblins charge with her own.

White wings with silver tips stretched out from behind the angelic Templar catching the radiance of the sun before a mighty beat of those wings stirred up a large dust cloud briefly obscuring the angel as she counter charged the little demon reading herself and her shield for the sudden impact of flesh on steel.

using charge:
This attack gets a +4 bonus to their attack rolls and damage. The character also takes a -10 penalty to Dodge until their next turn.
with shield slam:
The character makes only a Shield Bash attack for the round, but that attack deals +10 damage, and the creature hit by it must win a Resistance check against the character or be knocked prone.
-10 dodge + 68 to hit and 3d6 + 49dmg
